Okay,
Welcome to the quiet time,
Really quiet time,
Where we try and aim for the mind being still.
So if you make stillness your main aim,
It gives you not only a very good description of the goal of meditation,
But also it tells you how to achieve that goal.
Because you cannot gain any stillness by moving the mind,
By wanting,
By thinking,
By doing so much.
In the same way that you are resting yourself at night time.
You gain stillness of the body when you are in your bed just by letting go,
Relaxing,
Being kind.
So those words,
Letting go,
Relaxing,
Being kind,
Are key words for meditation as well.
Sure we do have some objects of meditation like the breath or loving kindness,
But it's how you look at those objects which is more important than the object itself.
So it's as if in this moment you look upon this moment with kindness,
Letting go,
Relaxing.
And it's,
As I mentioned before here,
It's the relationship you have with this moment which is most important.
So make the relationship you have with this moment a peaceful,
Kind,
Accepting,
Embracing relation without finding fault with the moment.
And then you'll find the path of meditation is very easy.
So if you'd like to close your eyes,
And once your eyes are closed,
Just your meditation posture.
P sitting here,
Noticing how you're sitting.
With your eyes closed,
Feel your body.
This is developing a body awareness,
Which you'll discover is very helpful for you throughout your life,
Just to know how you've got your body positioned,
To check to see how it's doing.
So many people are just so in their head,
So busy,
They don't even realize what their body is up to.
That's why often they can get sick.
As you're watching your body,
If you want to move it,
Just to adjust it,
Adjust it with your eyes closed.
With your eyes closed,
You're far more sensitive,
You're not distracted by sight,
So all your attention can go on the feelings in the body.
Don't make meditation a hard thing,
Such an easy,
Relaxed,
Peaceful way of spending 30 minutes,
Just being here.
So when your body is relaxed,
Then put all your attention onto this present moment.
So you know present moment awareness by what is missing.
What's missing is all the past and all the future,
All the place where you do business.
It's like you have an office and that office is called past future office.
Now you walked out the office into a place where you can do no work,
The now.
Sure you still got lots of unfinished business in the past and future,
But leave it unfinished.
You can look at it after the meditation period is finished.
Riddle.
How are you feeling now?
What is the content of your consciousness?
And how do you relate to that?
See if you can put peace embracing acceptance in the space between you,
The observer,
And what you are experiencing.
If you find like ill will,
Grumpiness,
Fault finding,
Negativity or even wanting between you and what you are observing,
You will find you will never be peaceful.
Just be at peace with whatever you are aware of now.
What is the content of your consciousness?
What is the content of your consciousness?
What is the content of your consciousness?
Just being mindful of your relationship with whatever you are experiencing now.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness,
The door of my heart is open to this.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.
As the mind settles into peacefulness,
There's an opportunity to have inner silence whereas hardly any thoughts occur.
If they do,
They are few and far between.
You begin to notice the space between the words,
The inner silence in the present moment.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.
Relaxing that relationship,
Putting peace there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there,
Loving kindness there.

So how do you feel now?
Coming close to the end of another meditation?
What's the quality of your mind like?
By which I mean the amount of peace,
Relaxation,
Even energy and happiness which you feel inside of you.
Please know any beautiful feeling of peace and don't worry about being attached to it.
The Buddha said you're supposed to be attached to it.
This beautiful feeling of happiness at the end of a meditation is one of the most important ingredients on the path to enlightenment.
From happiness we get the jhanas,
From jhanas we see things as they truly are.
Energy,
Happiness,
This is it.
Now reluctantly you can ring the bell to end the meditation.
Please listen to the three sounds from the gong.
When the third sound starts to vanish,
That is your sign for coming out of your meditation.
There we go.
I wonder where the world would be if there wasn't meditation.
