Come into this moment,

Just as it is.

And simply be.

Bring your attention into the here and now.

Be fully awake and fully alert to your direct experience.

And take a fresh new breath.

And be with that breath,

Just as it is.

And with acute presence as you breathe.

Take another fresh new breath.

And bring that freshness,

That aliveness to each following breath.

Be curious how it feels,

This moment of breathing.

And just where and how you feel it in your body.

The exquisite quality of this particular breath.

As you inhale,

As you exhale.

With that alert attention to the here and now,

Your mind can only be receptive and quiet.

And maybe you can sense the quality of stillness here.

Experience this moment.

And as that freshness with your breath continues,

You can explore the attitude of beginners mind,

Which invites you to come into a childlike innocence.

You may know the phrase,

Unless you become like a child,

You will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Perhaps referring to the aliveness that each moment has to offer.

And without that childlike curiosity and openness,

We miss the richness of life.

So allow yourself to explore and adopt that childlike innocence.

Let go of all those things you think you know.

And bring that curiosity and newness to the here and now.

To again be fully awake to what is.

And notice that this degree of presence,

This alive attention is calming your thinking mind.

Maybe you can feel a relaxation as you give your mind permission to let go.

And take another breath.

And perhaps you can be aware that although the thinking mind is quieter,

There is another level of mind.

Because even when the thinking mind is quiet,

There is a sense of all those things you think you know.

A background knowledge.

And ideas about how the world is.

And how life is.

And will be.

A kind of backdrop to the moment.

So breathe again.

And as you breathe out,

Can you let go of all concepts,

All labels,

All past experience.

Drop those desires,

Those opinions,

Your beliefs,

All of that background knowledge.

And simply be here now.

Just as you are in this moment experiencing.

And again,

Breathe in this particular moment for the first time.

Dropping all expectation.

All those ideas about yourself and who you think you are.

And breathe again.

Into a space of not knowing.

And as you do this,

You open to fresh possibility.

And with that childlike innocence operating in the now.

Dwelling in the now.

Navigating life in the now.

In this open space of awareness.

And this can be practiced as you learn to live each moment as though for the first time.

And can you take this degree of presence with you into the world?

Maybe allowing yourself to see the miracle of each moment.

With full awareness of what's here.

The sunlight through trees.

The sound of the birds today.

The fresh scents.

Maybe breezes on your face and the morning air.

Just as they are.

As though experiencing for the first time.

Be aware of your body now.

And the sense of it.

Your physicality.

And whatever is alive for you now,

Meet those sensations in your body.

Can you have beginner's mind about your emotions?

A curiosity about them.

How they feel in your body.

And rather than pushing them away,

Can you meet them with the same fresh attitude?

Allowing them to be.

And can you have beginner's mind about the people in your life?

Maybe giving them a chance to surprise you.

Allowing them to be free of the weight of past experience.

Perhaps being open to the idea that they too may change and learn and grow.

Now breathe again and come back to the beginning.

To the I am presence.

You are the witness and experiencer of this moment.

When you are awake to the moment with beginner's mind.

When you drop all concepts and all past experience.

All thought and labels.

You are the awareness of this moment.

And you are this moment.

Pure experience.

There is no separation between ideas of a knower and what is known.

There is just experience.

There is oneness with what is here,

With what is happening right now.

Just sit with that experience.

Perhaps with a fresh sense of self.

An alive presence.

Just rest there for a few more breaths.

And sing the breath and the rise and fall of your being.

Just begin to be ready to go back to your day.

And as you do,

Take this meditation with you.

And explore and live this attitude of beginner's mind.

Meeting each moment with freshness as you go about your life.
