Welcome to this incredibly peaceful meditation as we take a walk through nature and really let go of just what no longer serves us anymore.

Taking a deep breath in,

Closing your eyes,

And as you exhale feel your shoulders soften,

Feel your eyebrows soften.

Continuing taking these nice deep breaths,

We're going to start our visualization.

So I want you to close your eyes and envision that you've just stepped out of your car prepared to take this wonderful beautiful hike through nature.

You have your backpack on and you notice that it's a little heavy.

Then needless to say,

We start walking.

Keeping your eyes physically closed but in your mind's eye I want you to open your eyes and start walking around down this path.

As you walk you notice the ground beneath you is nice,

Sturdy,

Feeling the tranquility all around you.

Feeling the earth beneath your feet grounding you in this present moment.

As you look up and look around you start to notice all of these beautiful trees all around you.

The wind,

The light breeze flowing the leaves left and right.

Feeling the breeze along your exposed skin.

Nice,

Cold to the touch but still warm.

This season is fall.

The crisp mountain air flowing all around you.

Taking a deep breath in noticing the sensation of the smell of fresh air.

Looking all around you,

You see all the trees starting to change colors.

There's reds and orange and yellows.

Visualizing the season of fall.

Allow each step to release the weight that you carry.

Leaving behind the burdens from yesterday or from 2023.

Listening to the rustling of the leaves as you continue on this walk.

Listening to the soothing sounds of the birds singing and chatting away.

Letting them guide your focus away from your troubles.

Now we notice a little rest area just above.

There's a nice little wooden bench.

Sitting down,

Taking our backpack off.

Noticing that our shoulders are a little tired.

Shrugging them up and down.

Rolling them out.

We decide to take a look in our backpack to see what has been so heavy that we've been carrying with us.

Now pulling things out.

Looking around.

Pulling things out that just no longer serve you from 2023 that you want to leave behind you.

Now you could be pulling out the feeling of obligation.

Overthinking or over analyzing situations that happen.

The feeling of constantly having to go and to move and to be filling up every second of your time.

It could be the feeling of boundaries.

Maybe it's the feeling of lack of self-love.

Whatever's in your backpack that's been weighing you down.

I want you to pull out the things that just don't serve you anymore.

What do you want to leave behind so we can have a lighter walk for the rest of our walk for the rest of the year.

Continuing to breathe in and out through the nose.

Setting aside everything that doesn't serve you.

Now I want you to take a moment and look at each item even if it's something like boundaries.

Just noticing some type of shape or something that represents that that you want to leave behind.

Now take a moment to notice why you want to leave this behind.

Scanning your mind for the reasons why this is weighing you down.

Why do you want to leave it behind you?

Scanning each item.

Breathing in and out through the nose.

Now with each time you do this meditation you might notice different things or pull out different things from your backpack.

That's okay.

To keep this meditation short we're going to go ahead and move on.

I want you to load your backpack back up with only the things that still serve you.

It could be kindness,

Patience,

Whatever you want to bring with you that you have laid out in front of you.

Put it back in your backpack.

Now zipping up your backpack.

Putting it back on your back.

Standing up and starting to walk away from the bench.

Down the path with the beautiful swaying aspen trees all around you.

Take one last look over your shoulder.

Taking a nice deep inhale.

Looking at everything you decided to leave behind on that bench.

And as you exhale,

Letting those things go.

Turning your vision back to the front and walking on.

Deep breaths in through the nose.

Leaving behind everything that doesn't serve you.

And noticing how much lighter your backpack feels.

Continuing to put one step in front of the other.

We're going to picture a stream beside the path.

Notice how it's flowing.

Notice the sounds that it makes.

This stream symbolizes the flow of time and renewal.

Allow your worries to drift away with the stream.

Carried downstream.

Leaving you lighter and more at peace.

Take a few moments to keep breathing in and out through the nose.

Noticing and breathing in all of the beauty around you.

You notice that there's a clearing up above in front of us.

And as you get closer you notice it's a beautiful lake.

Registering that that must be where the stream is headed.

Finding a nice rocky beach beneath you.

But it's a smooth kind of rockiness filled with skipping rocks,

Soft sand.

And you take a seat,

Taking your backpack off.

As you take a moment,

Seated in front of this beautiful lake,

Start to notice the peacefulness that the lake brings.

The serenity of the way that the water is just nice and calm.

And how everything just seems to flow together.

Taking a deep inhale in.

Repeating to yourself,

I am peaceful.

And exhale.

Feeling your body soften a little bit more.

Now this is the last chance to take anything extra out of your backpack that just no longer serves you in order to make the hike back to your car lighter.

Taking a moment to look at everything you've been carrying with you from this past year.

Is there anything else that you want to leave behind you on this beach?

On this lake?

Anything you want to walk away from?

Breathing in and out.

Beautiful.

Packing your backpack up.

Zipping it up.

Putting it back on.

I'm going to take one more deep breath as you stand looking at this beautiful lake.

This peaceful lake.

Looking at everything you want to leave behind you.

And with an exhale,

Turning around and starting back down the path.

Feeling a sense of ease and lightness with you as you've started to leave some of your baggage behind you.

Continuing to breathe in and out.

Following the the little stream beside you.

Taking one more look around.

Noticing all of the song sound of the birds.

Of all of the life around you.

Deep breath in.

Repeating whatever intention you want to set for the year ahead.

How do you want to show up?

And deep breath out.

One more final deep breath in as you come to the end of the path.

Just noticing how much lighter your backpack feels.

And exhale.

Letting it all go.

You can spend time writing about anything that came up for you.

Anything that you want to let go of.

And repeat this meditation as often as you'd like.

I wish you happiness and harmony and peace.

Namaste.
