Come into a position where you feel both comfortable and alert.

You could be lying down in a reclined position,

Sitting upright,

Or perhaps you have your legs up the wall in an inversion.

Tune into your body and see what it needs today.

As you settle in,

Close your eyes or soften your gaze,

Beginning to take this journey inward.

Start with taking a few deep,

Slow breaths,

In through the nose and out through the nose.

When your breathing is slow and steady,

Your diaphragm tells your brain that everything is under control.

You are calm and safe,

And there is nothing to worry about.

With each exhale,

Allow your body to relax a little more.

Notice where you feel the movement of the breath the most.

Could be the tip of the nose,

The chest,

Maybe it's a rise in the shoulders or in your stomach.

Try to focus completely on how the breath feels in your body.

To help slow down the thoughts,

Think to yourself,

Inhale as you breathe in and exhale as you breathe out.

Let's count 10 slow breaths together.

Now allow your breathing to return to a normal rhythm.

Let's go deeper by considering the tarot card temperance.

This card is about balance and patience and moderation.

It's a reminder to remain calm even when life is stressful or frantic.

Can you maintain an even temper and manage your emotions?

Be the peacekeeper and take a balanced and moderate approach.

Keep calm in stressful situations and don't sweat the small stuff.

Turn your focus inward asking yourself,

Where do I need balance and harmony in my life?

Sit with this question without trying to analyze or think and allow any answers to come up from deep within.

Where do I need balance and harmony in my life?

Even though our question was inspired by a tarot card,

You don't have to believe in tarot to connect with a theme of listening to your inner wisdom.

As you practice tuning in to your intuition,

You may notice that you don't always hear words.

You may have gotten images,

Impressions,

Maybe random thoughts or memories.

You may not have gotten anything at all.

Perhaps something will come up later.

Take these next few breaths to process your experience.

Listen to the following affirmation and allow it to resonate deep within.

I am in perfect balance physically,

Emotionally,

And mentally.

I trust my inner wisdom to guide me towards choices that support my well-being and nourish my soul.

I am in perfect balance physically,

Emotionally,

And mentally.

I trust my inner wisdom to guide me towards the choices that support my well-being and nourish my soul.

As we reach the close of today's practice,

Bring your palms together at heart center,

Slightly bowing your head.

Take a moment to reflect on your experience.

Were you able to connect with your inner wisdom?

Did you practice listening and being open?

Allowing this experience and any insights you've gained to stay with you.

Bring your awareness back to your physical surroundings.

Take your time and when you're ready,

Open your eyes and allow your body any movement that it needs.

A powerful question to consider. I need to continue working on emotional regulation, which has been a life-long challenge thanks to C-PTSD.
