Exploring the autumnal equinox as preparation for rest, this meditation invites listeners to honor the balance of light and dark at the turning of the season. This meditation offers an opportunity to stay with the body while connecting with the land, creating space to pause and ground in the Earth. The equinox is explored as a natural threshold, a gentle invitation into the season of rest ahead. Through guided awareness, participants are encouraged to slow down, breathe deeply, and attune to the rhythms of the land. Rooted in seasonal rhythm, this practice supports balance, reflection, and renewal as the wheel of the year turns.

Welcome,

Friends.

Welcome to the autumnal equinox as we notice the seasons beginning to shift.

Let's gather together,

Recognizing the autumnal equinox as a threshold where day and night stand in perfect balance.

And as we take this time to pause,

To root,

And to receive the gifts of balance and harmony that exist within and without of yourself,

You might allow the lids of the eyes to close.

If it feels comfortable to do so,

And inviting your mind to begin to explore as you take a slow breath in and a gentle breath out,

Just letting your shoulders soften,

Perhaps feeling how the breath moves down to the belly,

And just letting the whole body begin to rest,

With each breath returning more fully to this moment.

We might touch in to the ground beneath you,

Feeling the touch points along the soles of the feet,

Or perhaps the sit bones,

The scapula,

And hips,

As you rest into your body,

Feeling a deeper connection.

And on this next inhale,

Breathing in to the center of the chest,

Where the precious heart resides,

And on the exhale,

Just allowing the support of earth beneath you to rise up into and through the body.

Inhaling support to the heart,

And exhaling,

Allowing the body to feel supported by the earth.

With each letting go,

You draw steady nourishment upward into the body,

Supporting the body with your breath,

Beginning to notice your own breath as a reflection of this harmonious balance of the autumnal equinox,

Between light and dark,

Between warm and cold,

Inhaling receiving the blessings of harvest time,

Exhaling releasing the hard work expanded during summer.

Inhaling in,

Taking in the gifts breath and life offer you in this moment.

Breathing out those completions,

Those cycles that have come full circle,

Letting go,

Feeling the rhythm of balance and harmony,

Like the turning of the seasons,

The turning of the wheel,

And how it lives within you.

And as you rest here,

Imagine the earth surrounding you with golden colors of autumn,

Feeling the colors in the fields of harvest,

As the trees begin to turn inward,

The colors of their leaves share the wisdom with us,

That they are also turning inward.

The world is preparing for rest.

Taking a few moments,

You might consider,

What is ripening within me?

You might ask your heart,

What am I ready to gather in?

You might also consider,

What is it time to release,

To let fall away like the leaves?

What has come to completion,

From seed to fruit,

That is ready to be let go and released to find its rightful place in the universe?

Just allowing these answers to come softly,

Arising from within,

No need to pull or force,

Just letting the answers arise.

You might offer your precious heart,

An affirmation of belonging,

I walk in balance,

I receive the harvest,

I release with trust,

The earth,

The wheel and I turn together in harmony.

And beginning to return to your breath,

Inhale,

I am present in this moment,

Exhaling,

I am whole in my connection,

Inhaling,

I belong in the earth,

Exhaling,

The earth belongs in me,

Inhaling,

I am supported,

Exhaling,

I am grounded,

Breathing in,

Receiving,

I am home,

Breathing out,

I am home.

Just allowing the body to feel what it is to be supported,

How the earth holds you,

Steady and sure and ever-present.

Now feeling your body where it rests,

You might wiggle your fingers and toes,

And when you feel ready,

You might offer your body a stretch,

Opening your eyes,

Taking a deep breath in,

And a cleansing exhale out.

Thank you for joining us,

Beloveds,

Until next time.
