All right,

So we'll get started this morning.

Like I said,

If you can make sure you grab some blankets and some pillows for the portion where we will be dropping into meditation,

We'll begin our session with a little bit of movement.

So go ahead and find your seat can either be cross-legged or if you'd like to go ahead and place the soles of the feet on the floor,

You can do that as well.

Just a little intro,

If I haven't met you before,

My name is Laura,

I have practiced Reiki or been a practitioner for over 20 years,

A yoga teacher for over 10,

And love doing energy work.

So have dove into Ayurveda and into,

I grew up doing Tarot and working with numerology.

And I just love,

I'm a busy mom,

I have two boys that I homeschool and have for the last 13 years.

I love a nomadic life and we sail part of the year and we move around the different parts.

So I need things that I,

Practices that I can take with me that don't require a lot of things that don't require a lot of time.

So that's why I love these,

You know,

Times where we can drop in.

So it looks like that resonates with you guys.

We need practices that we can really utilize that we can just do a quick tap in and get that reset that we need to reset our nervous systems.

And we are in these,

These roles as caregivers and many,

Many different ways,

Whether that's if you're a parent or not,

There's many ways we can care for others in our communities.

And it's really important that we take care of ourselves first.

Yesterday I was on and I did a bit of the energy forecast for August.

And it's exciting because today our session,

You know,

Arose on the first.

So we are really welcoming in the energy of August.

And that is that we are stepping into the integration of intuition,

But also taking action.

So it's this really beautiful blend of the masculine and the feminine energies of how we can,

You know,

Take this time like this morning to,

We're going to get into the body,

We're going to get into this,

You know,

This energetic place,

And then we can move that energy out into the world to get real practical results in the way that we,

You know,

Not only that we feel in our own body,

But in the way that we are able to interact in the world with people around us and the way that we can be of service to others and the way that we can just be that quiet presence,

That really stable and sturdy presence for others,

Because we are kind of solid within ourselves because we are honoring what is important to us.

So I'm really excited for our session today.

I always,

We work with the energy that is present for the day,

With the month,

The day,

There's lots of things to play with in here,

But I also pull a card.

And I love tarot because it is an opportunity for me,

It's like,

It reminds me of storytelling,

You know,

When we were growing up,

The picture books where you can really get a sense of the energy.

And I love that the energy that is coming in hard,

This is the major arcana,

So it's really showing up with a presence,

Is the moon energy.

And the moon energy to me,

Even though it is,

You know,

It is definitely a more feminine quality,

But it is a powerful quality.

So it's about allowing ourselves again,

To have this feminine intuition,

This stillness,

This knowing that we have deep within,

But it's also having the conviction to move out into the world with that knowing.

And this is where we become that powerhouse.

This is when we feel an integrity and when we can really make changes in our day to day life of how we feel and the actions we take,

Which then results in the life that we live,

Which is just so wonderful.

So all right,

Let's get into a little bit of movement.

I get so excited.

Go ahead and round the soles of the feet or the sits bones if you're cross legged.

I'm going to ground for a minute because I feel like I got a lot of energy going.

So let's go ahead and send that energy down to the soles of the feet.

Maybe rub the hands together.

And so I totally want this to be a co-creative experience.

So really,

As I'm drawing the energy in and kind of channeling it into the palms,

I would love for you to do the same because as we're practicing today,

Anywhere that you notice that needs a little bit of love or attention or tenderness,

I would love for you to,

You know,

Imagine and feel,

You know,

Often we can feel a little bit of this energy pulsing,

Either I feel like my heartbeat can feel pulsing in the palms,

But you can place your hands in those places that feel like they need a little bit of extra attention.

So allow yourself to center and breathe here for just a moment,

And then we'll move into our bodies.

So inhaling here,

Big inhale through the nose.

And exhale,

Send it out.

All right,

Let's do one more of those.

Let's inhale through the nose.

And exhale.

Wonderful.

All right,

So let's go ahead and take those hands together.

We're going to interlace the fingers here for a moment.

This is what we call is like the nerve sliding guide.

So this is really kind of working this energy.

So we inhale,

Bring the palms in towards the chest.

And then as we exhale,

Rotate the palms outwards,

Press away from the chest,

And then lift those arms up above the head.

And then come in,

Rotate palms towards heart,

Bring it in on the inhale,

Exhale,

Rotate palms out and up.

If you've done yoga before,

It's that ujjayi breath.

So almost like you're exhaling onto a piece of glass or something,

Fogging it up,

Creating a little bit of resistance in the throat.

It's a beautiful way to stimulate that vagus nerve and drop you into that rest and digest state of being within the nervous system.

Just feeling those areas that might feel tense or tight,

And things maybe opening up a little bit.

Awesome.

Great.

So let's bring that back and I'm just going to speak to,

I spoke with somebody this morning is having some neck pain.

So let's,

Let's bring this in.

So this is my,

I dream of genie stance.

When you think of this,

That you want to wish your neck pain away.

This is a really beautiful,

Easy,

Simple practice.

So you just draw the elbows to say the right,

And then let the gaze go in the opposite direction.

So we can inhale center,

Exhale,

Opposite side.

So find your flow of breath and just work the arms,

Work the neck,

The head.

Again,

Sometimes we don't notice tension is still until we start getting into a little bit of movement.

And you're like,

Oh,

That's where it is.

Okay,

Let's go ahead and switch arms,

Switch which arm is on top,

And then just continue with the same thing.

Often we kind of rush to get to even our self-care practices.

So it's really nice to drop into the body before we try to kind of calm the mind.

It makes it a little bit less of an obstacle when we have this moment to really connect physically.

And then we connect with the breath.

And as we do this,

You can just feel things starting to slow down in the body,

Right?

All right.

I'm going to come in fast here for a moment so I can sit right on top of those sits bones.

So let's come into the side body a little bit.

So inhaling those arms up and then exhaling on over.

So just work with the breath,

Inhale center,

Exhale over.

You can play with the head again.

If you're having some like tension or tightness,

You can look up towards the sky,

Down towards the earth,

Release any tension.

Just make the practice your own.

I'm just going to spend one more minute here and then we'll get started on the other portion.

Settling into a more quiet space within the body,

But then tapping into the mind and the spirit.

All right,

Last side.

This feels good.

All right.

Inhaling arms to center,

Exhale,

Bring them down here.

Place hands on heart,

Let the eyes close for a moment.

So the body quiets.

Take a moment to connect with the breath and just notice.

As we spend our time today,

We're allowing there to be a sense of curiosity.

Just gently watching the air enter into the lungs and exit.

Noticing that quality of breath.

Maybe you can even feel the heartbeat a little bit under the palms of the hands.

Okay,

Nice big inhale.

All right.

Let's go ahead and drop in.

Hi,

Jane.

I'm so glad to see you.

It's so nice to see you guys here today.

So go ahead and grab your blanket.

We're going to drop into the quiet portion of the practice.

So whether you enjoy being seated during your meditations,

We'll be here for the full next,

More than 15 minutes,

We'll be here.

So you want to make sure that you're warm and that you're comfortable.

So if you need a pillow behind the back,

If you're lying down,

If you want to take your pillow and put it under the knees,

You can prop that.

If you're getting ready to go do something after class today and you want to have a little bit more of an energizing vibe,

Sometimes it can be nice to just throw your feet up the wall.

Or if you're on the couch,

You can just like row them up here,

Let's have them a little bit higher.

And so that's kind of fun too.

And you can play with the way that the different postures make you feel during your meditation as well,

Just to kind of help foster whatever energy you're trying to cultivate.

Okay,

So go ahead and get comfy.

Bring us water and we'll get started.

All right.

So go ahead and finding that comfortable seat or resting position.

Again,

Remembering that we have these little vehicles of energy that you can use yourself.

So anytime during the practice that you need to kind of bring a little bit more comfort to the self,

Just place the hand there and imagine that energy just flowing in there.

So let the eyes go ahead and close if that feels comfortable.

And again,

As we ground that body in,

Just noticing that heaviness as the body kind of sinks into the earth.

It's letting go of any tension or tightness,

Just complete surrender of that physical body.

Maybe noticing the points of contact,

Maybe the back of the skull,

The shoulders,

The shoulder blades,

The hips,

The backs of the calves and the heels.

So again,

Just letting the body become still,

Noticing any places that we can bring in a little more comfort,

Making any of those adjustments that you need.

And then begin to simply notice the breath.

Again,

We aren't trying to change anything at all.

We're simply becoming curious.

So noticing that gentle rise and fall of the chest,

The coolness of the air as it draws in through the nose,

The warmth as you exhale,

Letting any tension or tightness in the belly just soften so that as the breath enters the body,

There is a softness and a rounding of the belly,

No constriction,

Just releasing and letting go.

We're taking these few moments to simply surrender to the energy that is available to us.

We do not have to work hard to be a part of it.

We simply need to open and allow ourselves to be still enough and quiet enough to notice and receive.

So again,

As our bodies get quiet,

Our minds often get busier.

So allow the breath through this practice to be your anchor to come back,

Come back to that stillness,

Come back to that awareness.

So let the breath be the guide.

Beautiful.

So let's go ahead and take the awareness to the crown of the head.

We're going to gently move through a body scan here as we just fill the body with this Reiki energy.

So imagining a beautiful orb of warm yellow light at the crown of the head.

Breathe here for a moment as you inhale,

Feeling it become more expansive and vibrant.

As you exhale,

It just gently compresses and softens a little bit.

Breathing here.

Sending the awareness to the space just between the brow.

Just imagining this warmth just penetrating any tension,

Any worries,

Just releasing and letting go here.

As we allow these worries and the mind to let go of its grip,

This is when we can allow the energy of the third eye to shine through.

This is where the intuition gets the opportunity to speak rather than the fear and the worry.

We allow ourselves to come into a place of curiosity,

Of wonder,

A possibility of wisdom.

So allow that space between the brow to soften,

Release and let go again so you can simply receive the wisdom of what is.

Allowing the eyes to seem heavy.

The gaze is now inward,

Knowing that we have the answers we are looking for.

Allow a little bit of space between the teeth so the jaw can soften and relax.

There's no reason we don't need to grit our way through it.

We don't need to clench our grip.

We can let go of that because we have already arrived.

And it is in the stillness that our voice can be heard,

So sending that energy down to the throat.

Again,

Our place of communication.

Trusting that when we are able to get quiet,

We can get really clear on what it is that our needs are.

And when we can communicate that clearly,

Most importantly first to ourselves,

But then when we can also communicate that to those around us,

That's when we are able to stay in integrity.

That's when we can build these sustainable relationships because we are able to walk the talk.

Sometimes our energy,

Because we are so often infused with others,

It gets busy in the mind and in the spirit and it gets confusing to know what it is,

What is the message that is meant for us.

So take a moment here to just breathe and listen as we move with this energy.

Take a moment to breathe here.

Bring life to that message,

To notice within your being what that message was for you.

Just gently move into a bit of a body scan of sending the energy to all parts.

So coming down to that heart center,

Moving the energy out into the right arm,

Elbow,

To the fingertips.

Inhaling center,

Exhaling over to the left arm,

Down into the fingertips.

Back to heart center,

Exhaling down to the space just below the sternum.

Feeling here warm,

Glowing light,

Beautiful expansion and contraction.

Sending that energy just below the belly button,

Opening up our ability to access creative solutions,

Our passions,

Our purpose.

Bit of a fiery energy here.

Then we take all this beautiful energy that we cultivated and send it down into that root chakra.

You send that energy down the right leg,

Down to the sole of the right foot.

Inhaling back to center,

Exhaling and then sending it down to the left leg,

To the sole of the left foot.

Again we are rounding this energy so we can move this energy,

This intention,

This wisdom out into the world in practical ways.

So imagining as we are walking through the world with this sense of intention,

Of awareness,

Of wisdom,

How does that look different for you?

What actions do you see yourself taking as you move confidently within your own being but also out into the world?

So taking a few breaths to embody this energy.

I'm going to seal the practice with the message of the moon and no one can say it better than she can so I'll be reading the card to you,

The message that she is sending today.

When we're faced with uncertainty and illusion,

It can feel like we are drowning.

Trust that you will be okay even if you can't seem to distinguish up from down right now.

When you stop struggling to see that which you simply cannot see because it remains obscure behind shadows of the moonlight,

You will experience a deep release that will allow you to float to the surface of your truth.

The moon asks you to go within,

To find comfort in the darkness and to calmly listen to the whispers of your own intuition.

There is divinity and magic here.

When you fall into the moon's still waters and your inner wisdom will embrace you and push you towards the light,

She will reinvigorate your creativity and resurrect your spark as long as you go beyond your own fears to find her.

Dive into her healing embrace,

Breathe past the insecurities and let her dimly lit magic guide you home.

The mantra that you can take with you today is I am safe and I reach new levels of unconscious knowing as I surrender to the will of the universe.

So I'm taking a moment to come back to the awareness of the breath.

Gentle rise and fall.

Resting in the recognition that this energy,

This healing will continue until it is no longer needed.

That it is with you as you walk through your day.

Go ahead and take a nice deep breath in and then bring a little bit of movement into the fingers and the toes.

Maybe bring in a little bit of a body stretch.

And if you're resting down,

Go ahead and roll on to your side for just a moment.

Resting in the stillness for one more breath.

And then gently when you're ready,

Allowing yourself to come to seated.

Seal our practice hands on heart center.

Nice inhale in through the nose.

And exhale out.

Thank you guys so much for joining me today.

I hope that you enjoyed that.

I cannot see names of anyone who's here.

So if you'd love to drop your name,

Say hi.

So I can get to know you guys as we're starting these practices together.

I see Jane had said hello earlier.

So hello,

Jane.

Friendly pause.

That you're welcome.

And then we're going to take a deep breath in.

And then we're going to take a deep breath out.

And then we're going to take a deep breath in.

And then we're going to take a deep breath out.

And then we're going to take a deep breath in.

And then we're going to take a deep breath out.

And then we're going to take a deep breath in.

And then we're going to take a deep breath out.

And then we're going to take a deep breath in.

And then we're going to take a deep breath out.

Yeah,

So it's just really fun having these different ways to,

Yeah,

Just to play with the energy,

Right?

And often we can feel like things are really serious.

It doesn't have to be so serious.

It can be kind of fun and playful as we find different ways to kind of bring energy in that we're wanting to cultivate more.

I'd love to,

If you guys have any,

You know,

Intentions or actions that came up for you during your meditation,

If you want to share them in the comments.

It's always nice to get to know you guys too.

But for me,

It allows me to,

These practices allow me to come in and I,

Especially as an empath,

And often the day gets started quickly around here and I can get absorbed in other people's energies very fast.

And,

Excuse me.

And so it's really nice to have a practice that you set the intention of what you're aligning yourself to as you move throughout your day.

And so then I can find little sparks of that energy that resonate throughout the day.

I can tap into practices,

Right?

How can I move my body today that honors what it is that I need?

Maybe I'm more tired and I need a little bit more of a restorative energy coming in.

So instead of maybe going to the gym,

I just go for a walk.

Maybe it's that I need to connect with some friends and just have a good girl talk,

You know,

With that good friend.

All right.

I'll go to this.

Thank you for the beautiful heartfelt session.

She feels uplifted and lighter.

One of your cats is injured and it's been hard.

Yeah,

That's always really hard to watch.

Anyone in our family suffer,

Right?

Yeah.

Or you can send some of your Reiki energy to your cat and just,

You know,

Hold and love them up.

I've got a sick kid right now,

So I feel that.

I think it's our first day of breaking a high fever,

So we're very happy around here.

But as caregivers,

As we know,

It's so important to take care of ourselves,

You know,

Before we step out.

That way we're giving from that full cup rather than constantly giving and then feeling really depleted.

And it usually ends up making you feel a little bit resentful,

Too,

At the end of the day,

Right?

So.

Oh,

Thank you.

I appreciate that.

Yes,

I'll send some love to them,

Too.

Yeah,

We can all use all the good vibes we can get.

Yeah,

It's really easy to get depleted because I think when we are empathic,

I don't know about you guys,

But I actually feel it in my body.

That's why I can't watch movies where I see people like get hit and things like that,

Because I feel that impact.

And so we can assume responsibility for it.

Right.

Because it just I wish we would feel that same sense of responsibility when we feel it in ourselves.

But somehow we,

You know,

Kind of cling on to whatever it is that other people are feeling to first and then try to fix and mend and send energy that way.

But it really takes some practice of coming into your own energy first and having these practices that are day to day practices.

Right.

That just like we digest food.

And if we don't digest food,

We feel crappy and we feel all backed up and crazy.

Right.

It's really important that we flush through the energy that we experience through the day.

So whatever that is,

Whether it's movement or journaling or connecting with a friend and just,

You know,

Kind of processing through that energy creatively,

Get into some artistic things,

Whatever is a way to express and release the energy that you've experienced.

Even if it's not your own and it's stories that you're carrying of other people,

The weight still weighs heavy on you.

It's really important to process that and have some practices that feel really good.

I'm just checking my battery.

My battery isn't charging for some reason.

So just make sure that as you move through your day that you're prioritizing the self.

I hope that you take this energy with you today that you've kind of cultivated up and you just move into a place of action.

Right.

We we experience this really good feeling right here.

And but we want to have that extend throughout our day.

So take actions that align with the energy that you cultivated this morning.

I look forward to seeing you next time.

Thank you,

Guys.

Have a wonderful day.

Bye.
