Hi,

I'm Liv.

Welcome to today's meditation.

This meditation is intended to help boost your mood and reduce stress.

Take a moment to get in a comfortable position.

You can do this meditation seated,

Walking,

Or laying down.

Your posture should be alert and relaxed if you're seated,

And I invite you to place your feet flat on the floor if that's available to you.

You can close your eyes or gaze softly downward,

And begin to breathe in through your nose and out through your nose.

Allow your body to relax into the present moment.

Continue to breathe evenly as we move into a visualization to help let go of stress.

See yourself walking through a beautiful forest.

You carry a heavy weight on your shoulders.

This weight makes it difficult to move forward.

You are strong and determined,

And you continue to move through the forest.

Eventually,

After a long and tiring walk,

You come to a fork in the road.

Here you make a choice.

With all of your strength,

You lift the weight up off your shoulders and place it down on the ground.

As you stand back up,

You notice how much lighter you feel.

You take the fork in the road after making this choice to let go of heaviness and unnecessary weight,

And begin to take in the beauty around you.

Your shoulders drop down away from your ears.

Your body and mind feel much more relaxed.

You notice all of the beautiful elements of the forest,

Noticing goodness all around you.

With every step you take,

You feel more energized and more excited about the path ahead.

You recognize how much the journey has to offer you,

Even before you reach your destination.

Along the path,

There are some shady spots where it feels a bit more cold,

And in those moments,

You focus on the sunny spot just ahead on the path.

You know that there is always a sunny spot around the corner.

Inhale through your nose and exhale out your nose.

Acknowledge if there's any extra weight that you're carrying that you can place down now.

If there are any unnecessary fears or thoughts that are not serving you,

Give yourself permission to let them go now.

Think of all that you have to look forward to.

Focus your attention on the bright and sunny spots that exist in your life.

If your mind wanders,

That's normal.

Simply acknowledge the wandering thought and come back to your breath.

Come back to the goodness that exists in this moment.

Know that we may not always be able to avoid the weight that we carry or the shady spots on the path,

But they are always temporary.

You can begin to open your eyes and come back to your environment when you're ready.

Embrace any feelings of calm or peace or levity that you may have inside of you now and take that with you into the rest of your day.

You can revisit this practice at any time whenever you need help finding your bright spot.
