Hello and welcome to this guided meditation track.

My name is Lucy and I'm here today to guide you through this meditation track which has been designed for bereavement care staff when they feel stressed,

Overwhelmed or even burnt out.

So wherever you are whether that's lying,

Standing,

Sitting,

Ensuring that you are as comfortable as you can be.

You can choose to close your eyes or lower your gaze,

Whatever feels right.

So let's begin then by taking in three deep breaths together.

So breathing into your body,

Filling your body with that clean fresh air and then releasing the breath and as you do so just allowing your shoulders to relax and release.

And again breathing deep into your body and then relaxing with the out breath.

One more time breathing deep into your body and then releasing your breath and just breathing now at your normal pace and rhythm.

Know that in this moment now there is nowhere to be but here.

Nowhere to be but here with me.

You carry so much,

Holding space for grief,

Offering comfort to others,

Bearing witness to sorrow and yet you are human and it's okay to feel tired.

It's okay to feel overwhelmed because you don't have to carry it all alone.

Breathing deep into your body and releasing your breath slowly and breathing again at your normal pace and rhythm.

As you rest here in this space,

In this stillness,

Listen to these words.

There is so much that is out of your control.

The depth of someone's grief,

The outcome of a situation and the pain of loss.

But in this moment you can choose how you respond.

You can meet yourself with gentleness instead of self-judgment,

With understanding instead of criticism.

And as you breathe in and breathe out,

Welcoming a sense of ease.

Allowing your body to relax a little more with every out breath as you slowly let go of all that you can't control and all that weighs you down.

And gently place a hand over your heart and repeat silently in your mind,

I am doing enough and I don't have to fix everything.

I can't control all that happens but I can choose kindness for myself and for others.

And so imagining now a sense of warmth and compassion flowing into you just as you so generously give to others.

Let this be a reminder that you are not the burdens you carry.

You are the love and the care that you bring.

Resting in this moment,

In this stillness.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Welcoming in that sense of ease and calm.

Taking one more deep breath in and releasing your breath slowly.

Breathing now at your normal pace and rhythm and finding your own time if your eyes have been closed.

Just gently allowing your eyes to open.

Moving forward knowing that you are worthy of the same compassion you offer others every day.

So this is the end of the meditation practice.

We at Sally's Gift Project would just like to say thank you so much for all that you do.

For all that you do for us and all the bereaved parents that you meet.

We are forever grateful.

Sending lots of love.

Take care.
