Hello and welcome to this meditation track which has been designed for bereavement care staff.
This track has been put together to be listened to during your break at work.
So it's a time to decompress and to press the reset button.
So wherever you are then,
Whether that's standing or sitting down,
I'd like to invite you to gently acknowledge the present moment now.
So noticing any sounds that you can hear and acknowledge that these sounds are here right now in this moment.
So taking a slow breath in and as you breathe in noticing the sound of your breath,
Holding the breath for a moment and then breathing out fully through your mouth.
Allowing your breathing to return to normal.
So now I'd like to invite you to take a moment to feel the earth as it moves in and out of its own pace and rhythm.
Noticing the sensations in your feet,
That connection to the earth as your feet rest on the floor and allow yourself to feel held and supported by the earth.
So releasing tension in the body now,
So inviting you to scan your body for any tension.
Maybe beginning at the very top of your head,
So gently taking your awareness,
Gently down your forehead,
Your cheeks,
The jaw,
The shoulders,
The front of your body and the back of your body,
Your arms and your hands,
Your lower body and your feet.
So just gently scanning your body for any tension and gently taking a deep breath into your body,
So breathing in and then as you release your breath,
Just really allowing your body to relax,
Releasing any of that stress,
Any of that tension,
Especially around the shoulders,
Especially in your forehead and the jaw,
Really allowing your body to be held and supported by the earth and silently in your mind say to yourself,
I let this tension go.
Focusing now on your breathing as you notice the natural rhythm of your breath,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Repeating in your mind,
I breathe in a sense of calm and I breathe out and release stress.
I breathe in a sense of calm,
I breathe out and release stress.
You may even just want to breathe in and say in your mind the word calm and breathe out and say in your mind stress,
Calm,
Stress,
Calm and just repeating this for a few in breaths and out breaths and then letting go of this practice if it feels appropriate to do so,
Placing one hand on your chest,
So connecting to your heart space and silently saying to yourself,
I am doing my best.
I am strong enough for this moment.
So just allowing these words to settle within you now and finally when you feel ready,
Taking one last deep breath and gently breathing out and setting a small intention for the rest of your work day so maybe your intention is,
I will continue with care and steadiness gently allowing your eyes to open with the bin closed or lifting your gaze and returning to your day now with a sense of renewal,
A sense of freshness.
We hope that you enjoyed this practice today and that wherever you are it brought you a sense of ease,
Care and we just want to say from the Ellie's Gift Project thank you so much for all you do,
You really do make a difference to so many people's lives.
Sending you all my love from one bereaved mother to another human,
Thank you.
