Hello and welcome.
Welcome to day 4 on the circle of calm.
And today we will look at the topic of will and power.
And we will also sit in silence for longer stretches of time.
So let's begin.
I would like you to get comfortable and at ease.
And tune into the breath and then take a deep breath in.
And deep breath out.
And I always prefer breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
See whether that works for you.
And another deep breath in and out at your own pace.
And during the next couple of minutes let's notice what arises and passes.
And let things come and go.
And what have you noticed this far?
What is present inside of you today?
And for the next two minutes keep on tuning into the breath and what you are feeling inside.
The thoughts that come up and the sensations that are present in your body.
So let things come and go and see what arises and passes.
And I'll be with you again in two minutes.
.
.
.
.
.
And feel the in breath and out breath again.
If your mind has drifted off,
Doesn't matter.
Bring it back to the breath and the breath in the body.
Simply noticing,
Observing.
And from knowing what was present and what you are feeling,
You can start asking yourself again,
What is creating this feeling,
Thought,
Or a situation that I am in?
So from knowing what you are feeling,
Asking yourself what is creating this feeling?
Or what is the meaning or purpose of it?
I'll give you about a minute or so to tune into that.
.
.
And then notice the breath again in the body.
Where in your body is the breath most obvious?
Can you feel it in the belly,
Chest,
Or near the nose?
And keep on noticing.
And from knowing what you are feeling and what is perhaps creating that feeling,
Perhaps knowing the meaning or purpose of it,
What are steps that you could take to deal with it?
And then sit with that question for a little while.
I'll be back with you in a minute or so.
.
And then from there onwards,
If you know what steps you could possibly take,
It is also important to know what you need to be able to take those steps.
So this is where will and power come into the story.
It is about committing to what you choose to do and having the freedom of choice.
So what is it that you wish to accomplish?
What is it that you value and truly want?
And what do you need in order to work towards this?
So questions that you could work with in the next couple of minutes when we sit in silence again and just choose one or let them go through your mind.
Just see what comes up.
You could ask yourself,
What is it that I truly want?
Or what are my deepest needs and wishes?
What do I value most in life?
What do I wish to accomplish?
And then also how do I get there?
What do I need to do?
And maybe the most important of all,
How can you allow yourself to take these steps?
I'll let you be here for two to three minutes and just see what arises,
What passes.
Let things come and go.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
And then start noticing the breath again.
Let the questions go.
And then for the remaining time of the meditation,
Just like we've been doing up to now,
Keep on noticing,
Keep on observing what is present.
Feel the breath move.
And notice again what is present now,
Right now.
And you can choose to either stay here a little longer,
So when the meditation finishes,
Maybe stay where you are and keep on listening to what you hear inside.
Or gently open up your eyes when you're ready.
Take another deep breath in and full breath out and feel that breath.
And I will speak to you again tomorrow.
Speak to you then.
