It's back to basics, meditation made simple, and of course all the cliches we love: Live in the moment, be here now, just be. The human mind loves complication, posing and melarkey. Let's dumb it down, let's raise our game...

Hey,

Munson here.

A couple of days ago I tried to record what would be my last meditation video for probably a long time.

Not because I fear the worst,

Actually because I am hoping for the best here.

That I started making a video that was going to be the best video I recorded and therefore the last one I needed to make on meditation after a long and strange eccentric career of making meditation videos.

So here it is,

This is the last one.

I hope this is the only one you're going to need.

People talk about living in the moment.

So why don't we bloody well do that?

Because I think the idea of living in the moment,

The mind gets hold of it and then thinks that's going to be coming sometime soon if you do things now so that you can enjoy living in the moment when you've correctly prepared yourself.

I'm going to show you now a very brief meditation.

Please don't think you need to get a cheesecloth shirt,

Light a joystick,

Blah de blah,

Blah de blah,

Or sit in a contorted position for 10 weeks to prove what a great meditator you are.

A meditation can be as simple as connecting with your senses and living in the moment right now.

So why don't we give it a go?

Okay.

Right,

Here we go.

Please feel the weight of your body in the chair.

That my friends is living in the moment.

Be here now.

Every meditation,

Spiritual cliche you've ever heard,

You can put into practice right now.

Now.

Okay.

So feel the weight of your body on the chair.

Your senses are your friend.

As you well know,

Sensory pleasure,

Right?

That's quite a gift.

So there you are feeling the weight of your body in the chair.

This is the pause.

This is the coming into the moment,

Falling still,

Being here right now without any,

As much as is possible,

Because that mind is a bit of a monkey,

Without,

As much as is possible,

Coming to the moment right now,

Using your senses,

Feel the weight of your body in the chair.

If you're standing up,

Feel the weight of your body in your shoes.

Feel the breeze on your face.

Feel the weight of your clothes on your body.

And please,

Main thing,

Don't make this about duration of time.

Make this about doing it.

And when can you meditate?

When's the only time you can meditate?

Now.

So if you're choosing to do it,

If you're stopping between activities to meditate,

You're going to be doing it now because it's the only time you can do it.

And if you're doing it now,

You're living in the moment.

And if you do that and you keep practicing that,

You will,

My friends,

Be living in the moment each time you do it.

And many a mickle makes a muckle.

So please don't delay.

Please don't make excuses.

Please don't think that your enlightenment and your freedom and your spiritual specialness,

Correctness,

Et cetera,

Is sometime in the future.

It's now or never.

So pause between activities,

Fall still,

Connect with your senses.

And each time your mind tries to take you away,

It's habitual way with thinking about tomorrow or the past.

Just come back into the present.

Come back into your presence.

Come into this moment because it's the only one you've got.

Good luck.

Have fun.

Enjoy.

You're very welcome.
