Namaste and welcome friend.

If you haven't had the chance to practice with me just yet my name is Christine and I'm so grateful to have you join me for this very special practice that is near and dear to my heart.

This practice is an invitation to amplify your connection to the universal energy of the mother.

The techniques explored through the practice of yoga nidra inherently connect us to the feminine qualities and energies of the divine mother.

The gifts and supportive energies of the mother and of the state of yoga nidra are many.

Learning to lean into surrender.

Trusting that the universe is working for us rather than against us.

Softening open the defended heart.

Becoming receptive to the guru,

The teacher within.

Nurturing body,

Breath,

Mind and spirit.

Supporting life from the inside out.

Rejuvenating and nourishing the soul.

By remembering this great mother teacher or the energy of the universal mother we awaken her from within.

She and we are one and the same.

Inseparable.

She is everywhere.

Illuminating the way.

Lovingly guiding us toward awakening to and living in a state of joyful being.

Resting in our true nature in remembrance of our profound connection with all that is.

Now,

Without further ado,

Let's begin.

Please take the next few moments to set up your little nest for deep rest.

Yoga nidra is traditionally practiced lying down on the back.

But you may choose a supportive reclined or seated position.

Or even a side lying or prone position on the belly.

Get as comfortable as possible.

Perhaps choosing to support the body with extra pillows and blankets.

Taking those extra little steps.

Knowing it will be worth it.

You are always worth that loving attention to detail.

Then begin to relax your head back and close the eyes down.

You are supported.

You are safe.

And it is time to rest.

Take a deep breath in through the nose.

Filling the abdomen and the upper chest.

Exhale and sigh it out through the mouth.

Letting out any moans or groans.

And then go ahead and take another deep breath in through the nose.

Filling the lungs.

Exhaling and sighing it out.

Tension releasing.

Go ahead and take one more deep breath in through the nose.

Filling the lungs.

Exhale and let go completely.

Allow the breath to be natural.

Effortless breath.

Flowing inward and outward.

Feel both eyelids heavy.

Eyes warm and relaxing down and back.

Releasing all the tiny muscles around and behind the eyes.

Sensing tension melting away from the brow.

The temples.

The cheekbones.

And the whole lower jaw.

Tension melting from the neck and shoulders.

As the entire body lets go even more.

Muscles and tissues becoming soft.

Bones becoming heavy.

Feel a deep sense of contentment and peace in your heart.

There's nothing you need to do.

Nowhere else to be.

Rest easy.

The benefits of Yoga Nidra will be received in all states of consciousness.

You are encouraged to remain awake and aware.

However,

Embrace the natural unfolding of your experience just as it arises.

Trust that you will receive the exact medicine to best support you in this moment.

For the human body is wise.

Let my voice be your anchor.

The practice of Yoga Nidra begins now.

Imagine your whole body settling into rest.

Imagine your whole body surrendering to rest.

Visualize your body resting deeply.

Permission to rest deeply.

Could you allow your heart to guide you from here?

Becoming open and receptive to the grace and embrace of the Holy Mother.

In any form through which you most easily recognize her.

Sense that you are held in her nourishing embrace.

And be still.

Bring your total undivided attention to your whole body.

Feel the flow of prana,

Of life force energy throughout your entire body.

Sense luminous energy extending everywhere and filling every nerve and cell of your body.

Now bring your attention to the eyebrow center.

And empty your mind into the flood of energy here.

Drop into complete silence and deep stillness.

Sense the body resting deeply.

Notice the volume of your body or the space your body is occupying.

Now might you begin to imagine drawing a circle of protection around your body.

This circle can be made of anything you wish.

Rose colored light.

Holy water.

Ashes.

Whatever intuitively calls to you,

Establish this circle of protection around yourself now.

See and feel yourself inside the circle.

Now notice the ears listening.

Both ears receptive to sounds to the left of you.

Receptive to sounds to the right of you.

Sounds to the front of you.

To the back.

Above.

Below.

Might you even notice the sounds of the body.

Blood flowing.

Fascia resonating.

Heart beating.

Breath flowing.

Welcome awareness to rest now at the altar of your heart.

In this little red church of your heart,

Witness presence moving in and out with the breath.

Breathing in through heart center.

Breathing out through heart center.

Sense and welcome a quality of open heartedness.

Of an undefended heart.

Resting here.

Begin to allow the naturally arising wisdom of your wise heart as you call forth your sankalpa.

A sankalpa is a sacred place.

A sankalpa is a sacred promise to yourself.

A vow or resolve.

Stated in a positive I am declaration.

Taking a moment to sense what's arising.

If your sankalpa remains unclear,

Trust it will arise in the grace of divine timing.

You may choose to try on the following.

I am unconditionally held,

Loved and nourished by the universal energy of the mother.

I surrender and I receive.

I am unconditionally held,

Loved and nourished by the universal energy of the mother.

I surrender and I receive.

Silently repeat your sankalpa three times.

Calling it in.

Feel your sankalpa resonate out from your inner world into the space around you.

Vibrating out into the world as you let it go.

We will now begin a rotation of consciousness throughout the physical body.

Could you concentrate your attention moving from point to point as I name it.

Could you bring all of your attention to the tips of all ten toes.

Sensing the tips of all ten toes.

And all ten toenails.

The balls of the feet.

Tops of the feet.

Both heels.

Both ankles.

The lower legs.

Knees.

Upper legs.

Feel both legs resting deeply.

Both legs luminous with sensation.

Sensing both hips.

The glutes.

Sense the entire pelvis and pelvic muscles.

The low belly and the low back.

And sensing the vital organs deep within.

Feeling your ribcage and the lungs.

And your heart.

The upper chest and back.

Feel the whole torso resting deeply.

Whole torso.

A vibrating field of sensation and awareness.

Could you bring all of your attention to the tips of all ten fingers.

The tips of all ten fingers.

The tips of all ten fingers.

And all ten fingernails.

Shimmering energy.

Radiant and alive.

Feel the palms of both hands.

And the back of the hands.

Both wrists.

Forearms.

Elbows.

Upper arms.

Shoulders.

Sense both arms resting.

Both arms luminous.

Sense the back of the neck.

The front of the throat.

Back of the head.

Crown of the head.

And sensing the entire scalp and hair.

Forehead.

Center of the brow.

Both eyebrows.

Temples.

Cheeks.

Both eyelids.

And the eyelashes.

And both eyes.

Both eyes resting back and down.

And sensing both ears listening.

Feel the outer structure of the ears.

And deep into the inner ears.

Both ears listening.

Open and receptive to sound vibrations.

Sense the airflow at the tip of the nostrils.

The tip of the nose.

The tip of the nose.

Both nostril flares and the bridge of the nose.

Tip of the tongue.

Root of the tongue.

Feel the teeth and the gums.

Inside both cheeks.

The roof and the floor of the mouth.

Both lips.

And the entire lower jaw.

Entire head and neck deeply resting.

Radiant with vital energy and sensation.

Could you divide your attention equally throughout the entire body now?

Whole body resting.

Whole body a luminous field of vibrating energy.

Trillions of cells vibrating together.

Breathing together.

Dancing the sacred rhythms of inward and outward.

Whole body.

Rest awareness at the third eye center.

Third eye center.

The center of the brow.

Feel,

Sense,

Or imagine the breath moving in and out here.

Sense prana riding on the breath at the throat center.

Heart center.

Breath moving in and out.

Navel center.

Breath in and out.

Pelvic center.

Breath in and out.

On your next inhalation,

Could you sense or imagine prana riding on the breath from the base of the spine all the way to the crown of the head?

Exhale.

Prana cascades with the breath from the crown of the head down to the base of the spine.

Inhaling base of spine to crown of head.

Exhaling crown to base.

Letting that go.

Feel the whole backside of your body.

Begin to sense the whole body is heavy like lead.

Feel the whole body sinking down.

Whole body very heavy.

Now shift awareness to the whole front side of your body.

Begin to sense lightness in the front body.

Like your body could lift upward and begin floating.

Whole body light like a cloud.

Come back to the feeling of heaviness in the body.

Come back to the feeling of floating.

Can you sense and experience both sensations,

Heaviness and lightness simultaneously?

Now begin to call up a feeling of satisfaction.

Satisfaction.

Notice any stories that arise as you welcome a somatic or felt sense of satisfaction in the body.

Holding satisfaction in your awareness.

Notice how the body feels.

Perhaps noticing if you can locate where you feel satisfaction in your body.

Satisfaction.

Now begin to call up a feeling of frustration.

Frustration.

Notice any stories that arise as you welcome frustration as a felt sense in the body.

Holding frustration in awareness.

Notice how the body feels.

Perhaps noticing if you can locate where you feel frustration in your body.

Now take some time to begin wandering back and forth between these opposites.

Heaviness and lightness.

Satisfaction and frustration.

There is no rush.

Heaviness.

Lightness.

Satisfaction.

Frustration.

Can you feel these opposites simultaneously?

Can you begin to merge the sensations?

Merging heaviness with lightness.

Satisfaction with frustration.

Merging opposite sensations within your whole being.

Oppositions slowly melting themselves together.

To be alive in this human form means to feel it all and to feel it fully.

Can you hold opposite truths at the same time and just let it be?

Can you rest deeply in between the opposites?

Neither this nor that.

Observing the lila,

The entire divine play,

Without getting caught up in judgment,

Attachment,

Or aversion.

An empty vessel.

Now let that go.

Rest in a state of neutrality and equanimity.

Awareness rests at the third eye center.

Third eye center.

Feel presence moving with the breath in and out.

The third eye center.

This place of vision,

Of knowing,

And of wisdom.

Begin to welcome the balm of remembrance.

Of your roots to the soul of the soul of the entire cosmos.

The primordial energy of the mother.

You are surrounded in love.

You are held in her loving embrace.

Listen.

Divine mother wishes to bless you.

Could you listen deeply now with your intuitive heart?

Hear her whispering.

My love,

You can always come to me.

No matter how long the pause in our conversation.

Your heart is so infinite.

I am here.

Existing deep in love.

So come.

Come again.

And know that you are loved.

Now and always.

Resting ever so deeply now.

Spacious being.

Effortlessly awakening to your wholeness.

Floating into infinity.

Begin to sense the body.

Bring your awareness back to your heart center.

Back to the little red church of your heart.

Feel presence moving with the breath.

In and out from your heart center.

Begin to welcome back your sankalpa.

Perhaps you are welcoming back.

I am unconditionally held,

Loved,

And nourished by the universal energy of the mother.

I surrender and I receive.

Silently calling it back in.

Repeating it three times.

And so it is.

Notice the body resting on the floor.

Feel the heels resting heavy.

Parts of the legs and the buttocks.

Parts of the spine and the back.

Shoulder blades.

Parts of the arms and hands.

The back of the head.

Whole body heavy.

Hugged by the gravitational pull of the earth.

Slowly arising to the surface of awareness.

Notice the quality of air kissing your skin.

And welcoming back any sounds around you.

Sensing the rising and falling of the breath at the navel.

You might take a slow deep breath in.

Filling the lungs.

And a long relaxed breath out through the mouth.

Perhaps taking one more slow deep breath in.

Fill the lungs.

Long relaxed breath out through the mouth.

The practice is now complete.

In your own way and in your own time.

Begin to invite gentle movement back into the body.

Or rest a while longer in the fetal position.

Give yourself a moment to connect with a felt sense of gratitude in the body.

As you thank yourself for this gift of time,

Of rest,

And of self-love.

And as you thank the Cosmic Mother for her feminine blessings.

Of surrender,

Receptivity,

Deep nurturance and nourishment.

And multi-dimensional rejuvenation.

Know you can return here anytime and easily.

Thank you so much for choosing to be here and for choosing to show up for yourself in this powerful and potent way.

Remember,

Each expression of love we offer ourselves creates a powerful ripple effect.

May Holy Mother watch over you and keep you safe.

Bowing to you,

Precious one.

So much love.

Thanks again.

Namaste.

I thought that I’ve been practicing Yoga Nidra for the past eight years but I’ve been in Kindergarten until graduating university today. This was a magical transformation in my meditation practice - and I thank you for sharing it. Perhaps I’ve not been meditating long enough. I can’t wait to do this again in another setting in my peaceful home, as laying in my indoor hammock created an incredible YN cocoon. Thanks again.
