Hi there,
I'm Kianna Demir from Mysore Yoga Paris.
These droplets designed to support you in your practice are a collaboration between myself and sound artist Jotham Agam.
They're best experienced listening with headphones.
Jotham and I invite you for a Shavasana journey,
A divine relaxation that takes us to mother India,
The homeland of yogic practices and ancient wisdom teachings.
We travel deep into a protected rainforest in Karnataka.
In the lush soundscape of the jungle we find a clearing where we lie down.
In this sanctuary we allow our body to find complete rest and our mind complete presence.
Shavasana is usually taken at the end of practice but we truly recommend taking Shavasana at any time during the day when you need a pause to relax and to renew your body and mind.
Or you could simply allow this journey to gently drop you into a restful sleep.
Take this moment to carefully prepare your nest,
Your haven for Shavasana.
This can become a sacred ritual of loving attention and care,
Consciously creating a clearing in the dense forest of your life.
Make sure all devices and notifications are turned off and that you won't be disturbed.
Offering your full attention to this moment of care for yourself.
How would you set it up for your beloved,
Your best friend?
You could place a folded blanket under your head,
A bolster under your knees,
Perhaps put on some socks,
Find a heavy blanket to cover your body.
The practice of Shavasana is passive and receptive.
You're preparing yourself to be held unconditionally.
Your nest,
A divine resting place.
Now lie down,
Close your eyes and just feel yourself lying on the earth.
Allow your body to spread wide like a river pouring into the ocean.
You might want to offer yourself a deep in-breath and then exhale through the mouth,
Letting go into the vastness of your own being.
Again,
Full inhale and then let your breath escape through your lips as you exhale and release.
One more full in-breath.
And complete out-breath.
Sense your body fully received and embraced through gravity.
We're about to go on a journey together.
We go back to the homeland of yogic practices and wisdom teachings.
We return to what is lovingly called Mother India.
We travel deep into a protected rainforest in Karnataka.
In the lushness of the jungle you find a clearing where you lie down.
You let your body spread even wider,
Soaking like water into earth.
Allowing each in-breath to nourish and fill your body.
Each out-breath releasing more weight into the ground.
Follow the gentle current of the in-breath up and into your heart space.
And the stream of your out-breath pouring down into your belly.
Your body floating in the natural soundscape of your surroundings.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
Sounds.
The chakras of your body begin to gently dissolve as you drop into the watery currents of your breath in your belly.
You become aware of how the elements within and around your body merge with one another.
Earth,
Trithvi,
Merges with water,
Apas,
With fire,
Agni,
With air,
Vayu,
And finally into open space,
Akash.
As spaciousness widens,
Hearing deepens.
Your body bathing in sound,
Listening to the boundlessness of space.
You drop into a natural sense of belonging,
A sanctuary,
A refuge deep within the wilderness of your own being.
The Yukti verses read,
The current of creation is right here,
Coursing through subtle channels,
Animating this very form.
Follow the gentle touch of life,
Soft as the footprint of an ant,
As tiny sensations open into vastness.
Power sinks as it flows,
Electrifies the organs of sensing,
Becomes liquid light,
Nourishes your entire being.
You emanate the boundary where the streams join the sea,
Where body meets infinity.
