Hello,

It's psychologist Rebecca M here and today I'm going to be guiding you through a meditation called containment with safe touch.

First of all,

Make sure you're in a comfortable position,

Either laying down or sitting up with a straight spine.

Take a moment and notice your overall experience.

This just means how you're feeling,

What thoughts are coming up and where you are in this moment.

Take your right hand and place it just below your left left armpit,

Holding the side of your chest.

Now place your left hand on your right bicep or shoulder or elbow.

Take a moment now to notice the feeling under your hands.

Does your body feel warm?

How does the fabric of your shirt feel?

Can you feel your heartbeat?

Do you experience a sense of containment from your hands and arms?

Is it pleasant?

Now notice how the rest of your body experiences this soothing and containing touch.

What do you notice now about your overall experience?

Now whenever you're ready,

Just slowly bring your attention back to the present moment.

You can move your arms down and your hands,

Maybe give them a little bit of a wriggle.

And whenever you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Remember that today is a new day.

Make this day a day that counts and go out in love and peace.
