As you become more comfortable and steady in this practice,

Perhaps you can begin to deepen your experience of it.

As you watch your breath,

See if you can have a sense of trusting its sound to tell you where your body is fragile,

Inflamed or tender.

Listen for any change in its sound or even a halting in its flow.

Be aware of any quickening in its pace and rhythm.

Can you find any tightness or tension?

Any areas your breath is filling that feel sticky or blocked?

Can you observe any areas that cause you discomfort?

See if you can consciously direct your breath to those places you feel you need it most.

Breathing in clean,

Clear,

Healing breath,

Softening,

Soothing and as you exhale,

Letting go.

Directing your breath and with it your awareness.

Listening to the sound,

Chest,

Solar plexus,

Navel,

Navel,

Solar plexus,

Chest,

Gentle breath,

Smooth breath,

Healing breath.

As you inhale,

As you exhale,

Softening and letting go.

Continue now for a few more rounds in your own rhythm,

At your own pace,

Visualizing the breath as it flows.

With your next breath in,

Visualize that you are drawing pure life force in the form of colored light,

Whichever color comes to you first.

Pure life force and inspiration into your body.

Feel it flow into your chest,

Solar plexus,

Rib cage as it moves sideways,

Into your abdomen,

Navel gently rising,

Filling,

Restoring.

As you next breathe out,

Just letting go.

Being soft,

Just being.

Try a few more.

Inhaling the bright,

Fresh,

New healing,

Restoring colored light.

Exhaling all you no longer need and letting go.

Visualize now that as you exhale,

You can direct your breath down the front of your body,

Washing away any last remaining tension,

Discomfort,

Unease,

Dis-ease.

As you inhale,

Bright colored healing light up the back of your body.

Exhaling a wave down the front of your body,

Warm and smooth washing.

Inhaling,

Clear,

Clean,

Restorative light up the back of your body,

Bright healing colored light.

Perhaps now you can take the breath and light just beyond your toes as you exhale,

Just above your head as you inhale.

Exhaling down the front of the body,

Just beyond your toes.

Inhaling up the back of the body,

Just above your head.

So bright and luminous now is that light.

It begins to seep through the very pores of your skin,

Creating all around you warm,

Gentle,

Pool of healing light,

A cocoon of colored light.

Get up and look down at your body.

Imagine yourself lying here,

Now,

Your face at ease,

In comfort,

Bathed in the healing light.

Gentle breath,

Natural breath.

Imagine yourself to just be at ease in the waves of luminous light.

Slowly now become aware once more of the room you are in.

Starting to take in sounds and other impressions around you.

Become aware again of the shape of your body,

Its weight,

Whole body lying here at ease,

In comfort,

Now.

Whole body lying here now.

When you are ready,

Keeping that feeling of inner warmth,

Well-being,

Of softness and ease,

Begin to direct your attention to your hands and fingers,

Toes and feet.

If you are able,

Slowly begin to move them.

Now become aware of your breath.

Take a nice big breath in,

Exhale it out through an open mouth.

If you like,

You can have a stretch and take an uninhibited yawn.

As you externalize your awareness now,

Into the room,

Into the present,

A gift,

Slowly begin to open your eyes.

Be happy you are here,

In this breath,

In this now.

A wonderful meditation. I appreciated the teacherโ€™s guidance although a few times I struggled with trying to follow her breath pacing. I really liked the background sounds. I look forward to hearing more from this teacher. Many thanks for the invitation to help heal my body.
