Hello,

And welcome to this week's Purely Being Meditation.

Today I'm sharing an exercise I love to do every single day that brings me a deep sense of balance,

Stability and peace in my body through connecting to the core of the Earth.

The Earth is our home,

Our provider,

And a powerful battery full of negative ions which are so good for you.

It's great to get outside every day,

Get your feet on the Earth as often as possible,

But you can also connect powerfully to the energy of the Earth through this practice whether you're indoors or outdoors,

And you'll feel similar benefits to connecting outdoors.

This practice in particular is especially good if you have strong vata,

Air energy,

Or if you spend a lot of time in your mind and out of your body.

You can do this exercise sitting,

Laying down,

Standing up,

With your eyes open or closed.

Just do whatever feels most easeful and simple to you.

It may be helpful for this first time to do it sitting or laying down,

But know that as you move through your waking life,

Your waking day,

You can do it at any time.

To begin,

Let's breathe together in through the nose and out through the mouth,

Exhaling fully,

Clearing all the air out,

Opening up space for the new,

And again in and out,

In and out,

Once more in,

Filling up with as much air as you possibly can,

Sipping in a little bit more at the top,

And then letting it all go with a big sigh,

Relaxing completely,

Letting your breath return to its natural rhythm.

Now begin to softly visualize a beam of light extending from your sacrum,

From the base of the bowl of your pelvis,

Deep into the core of the earth,

Going down,

Down,

Down through the earth,

Through the soil,

The bedrock,

All the way to the illuminated crystalline core in the center of the earth.

Don't worry too much about getting the visualization,

The size,

The color,

Anything just right.

It's more about the feeling of a light root extending from your base,

From your core,

Deep into the earth,

And connecting to the core of the earth.

And as this cord of light extending from your sacrum makes contact with the earth's core,

Feel roots of light extending from it,

Merging and immersing themself deep into this crystalline core.

Feel your roots soaking in the goodness and the love of Gaia,

Bringing balance and harmony to your body,

Clarity to your mind.

And breathe.

Bring your awareness to this connection between your body,

Your core and the earth.

Notice how your awareness of this connection affects you on a physical felt level.

Perhaps you feel a little bit more spacious,

More balanced.

Perhaps you feel your heart softening,

Feeling more secure,

More stable and more centered.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Keep your awareness on this cord of light extending from your body deep,

Deep,

Deep into the center of the earth.

Feel your heart in perfect communication with the earth's heart.

You are fully grounded,

Fully rooted and completely at peace.

As you continue to breathe and feel and be aware of this connection,

Affirm,

I am connected deep into the core of the earth.

I relax and receive the blessings of the earth.

I offer the blessing of my love,

Kinship and care to the earth.

I am grounded.

I am connected.

I am whole.

Beautiful.

Breathing in deeply and letting go with a big sigh on your exhale,

Surrendering completely.

Relax your awareness.

Let go of your focus and just melt into this moment here as you are.

Knowing you are connected,

You are grounded and you are whole.

I love to do this deeply connective and balancing practice first thing in the morning when I step outside and as often as I remember throughout the day.

If you felt centered and blessed by it,

I encourage you to do the same or just do it whenever it feels good to you.

Whenever you'd like to ground,

Connect to the earth and balance your body.

You don't have to do this practice for any set amount of time.

Even just making that point of contact for a few seconds,

Maybe a minute will have a powerful and positive effect on your body and mind.

We are so supported and nourished by the earth through our food,

The air,

The water,

All the space to create and play and connect with each other.

It is a wonderful thing to connect to her energy and essence and receive her blessings in a more direct way.

You can even use this process as a way to build a deeper connection to Gaia as a consciousness and a friend.

For example,

When you connect you can send messages of love and gratitude or even ask a question,

Start a conversation,

Staying oh so soft and open for her response.

We really are all in this together.

One final big breath in,

Slow exhale out,

Relax.

Bringing a soft sensation of a smile to your face.

When you're ready you can open up your eyes and move into your day from this loving,

Grounded and connected place.

With all my love,

Namaste.
