Hello,
My name is Kara and I'm going to be leading you on this guided meditation today.
I'd like to invite you to find a comfortable position that allows you to feel supported and nurtured.
There is no right or wrong here,
Only what feels good in your body in this moment.
Once you find yourself there,
If it feels okay to do so,
Allow your eyes to drift closed.
You can also simply allow your gaze to soften so that you're able to turn your attention inward.
Softly guide your attention to your breath,
Feeling your breath wherever feels most natural to you.
Notice how your breath is feeling in this moment,
Not judging or trying to change anything.
Simply becoming aware and attuned to the experience of your breath.
Our journey today starts with the amazing function that is our breath.
For this moment,
Consider the fact that your breath just is.
Every second of every day.
Whether you are awake or asleep.
Whether you are moving or still.
Whether you are aware of it or you're not.
Your breath simply continues on.
Bringing oxygen to your body and to your mind.
Take this moment now to really feel and appreciate that breath.
To notice what your breath is doing for you.
Now expand your awareness,
Moving from your breath into your heart.
Perhaps you can feel your heart beating.
Perhaps you can't.
But whether you feel it or not,
You know it's there for you.
Every moment of every day,
Your heart is beating,
Moving blood through your body.
Your blood is carrying that oxygen that your breath brought you.
Your blood is carrying nutrients that nourish you.
Your blood carries the toxins and the waste and helps your body process them out of you.
Just like your breath,
It does not matter what you are doing.
Your heart,
Your blood,
They're working for you in every moment.
So in this moment,
Notice.
Notice the work your heart is doing.
Notice the work your blood is doing.
Appreciate them.
Now sliding away from our hearts,
Consider the incredible job that your digestive system is doing.
It takes food and it allows us to enjoy our food,
To get pleasure from our food.
And then it processes that food and gets all the nutrients,
All the nourishment from it.
It sends that nourishment,
All those nutrients,
All the way through our body thanks to that blood we were talking about.
And then it just gets rid of the stuff we don't need.
And it just works.
Maybe imperfectly,
But it works doing this job for us.
It doesn't get noticed that often.
It certainly doesn't get gratitude very often.
But it does its job and it works for us.
Take this second,
Take this moment to just sink into that.
Into the pleasure we get from food.
The way our body nourishes us.
The way it works to keep us going.
Let's move even deeper now though.
Into our minds,
Into our brains,
Into our nervous system.
The boggling amount of work that happens every second of every day.
Again,
Whether we're awake or we're asleep.
Whether we're moving or we're still.
Whether we notice it or we ignore it.
Our brain makes every single part of our body function.
They allow us to think,
To process,
To experience the world.
Our brains and our nervous systems take in copious amounts of information.
All of our experiences.
And they give us the ability to understand them and to integrate them into ourselves.
Our nervous system keeps us as safe as it can.
It's amazing.
Take a moment here,
Appreciate that.
Breathe into it.
Our bodies do incredible amounts of work for us.
Every moment we're alive,
Our breath,
Our heart,
Our brain,
Our stomach,
Our skin,
Our organs,
Our limbs.
They create this magic that allows us to be in the world.
I want to invite you to come back into your breath again.
But this time experience the magic of it.
Be aware of the magic of your body in this moment.
The magic of your breath,
The magic of your blood and your heart and your neurons and your skin.
And use your breath as a guide to the magic through your whole body.
Now inviting an even deeper breath and allow for a slower,
Even deeper exhale.
And feel that magic that is your body.
Even if it's only in this moment,
Believe in the magic that is your body.
Not thinking about how anyone else perceives your body.
Not worrying about how any part of your body looks.
Just believing in the pure magic that means that your body is here allowing you to exist in this world.
Inhale your magic.
Exhale your magic.
Be in your magic.
As you continue to exist in your magical body,
Allow yourself to start to drift back into the world again.
Whatever parts of your body are connected downward,
Feel the ground beneath you.
Really notice that feeling of support,
How the ground is holding you.
Take another long,
Slow breath and then invite in the smallest of movements.
Wiggling your fingers or toes.
A gentle rock of your head.
Something that just feels right in your body in this moment.
Gradually make the movements a little larger.
And as you are ready,
Allow your eyes to flutter open if they're closed.
Or to find something to focus on if they're open.
As you're finding yourself back in the world,
Try to carry just a little bit of that belief of your magic with you.
The magic of your body,
It's still there,
It's always there.
And you can always find it again by just coming back into your breath.
Please move with care as you continue to return into your space.
Offering yourself gentleness and kindness as you return to your day.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
With love and with gratitude,
I wish you peace.
