So we're going to talk about cool yoga because also today is the International Day of Yoga 2020.
So let's see.
Let's have a look.
So people are doing yoga for health,
The health of their body.
They also look at their food they eat usually and very careful with what they eat when they're really into yoga because they're into health.
And also there is a practice of meditation for people who are really enthusiastic about doing their yoga practices.
So it's a very healthy way,
It's a very nice way to live.
So we're also going to look at Raja yoga which Raj means the king of yoga,
It's the highest yoga because what happens with Raja yoga is that we look at the way we do our strengthening and our postures inside in the way we think.
So the two and two can go very well together when so many people are interested in both types of yoga.
So we all love the sort of being cool,
Calm,
Steady,
Relaxed and serene.
Beautiful ways of thinking,
Beautiful words.
And if I take just a moment of becoming aware I can see that actually there's a lot of time when I'm not that.
I'm actually quite worried,
Quite concerned,
Quite tense inside.
Even we're doing the exercises.
Inside I can feel quite stressed.
And so how can I finish those heavier ways of thinking because these are not helping me.
They're not helping the image that we're working on to be that cool,
Steady,
Relaxed,
Calm,
Serene person.
So if I could be determined to be aware of those worries and fears and concerns and not focus on them too much.
And if they do surface not to buy into them at that moment in time,
Not when I'm maybe in the middle of doing my exercises or my meditation,
To give myself spaces where I steer clear of the heavier feelings.
I know in life we have our worries etc.
But keep them in their place.
If I can stop these feelings and stop focusing on that heavy energy,
If I could stop them at the level of my thoughts,
Which is what Rashoka is all about,
Then they won't grow into words and actions.
I teach myself to cool down and keep things easy,
Light and simple.
Simple is a wonderful way to think.
It means not to be over complicated,
Not to complicate things too much,
Saying oh this is too difficult,
Can't do it,
Because that will make me feel heavy.
Just steer away from heaviness.
Reduce my internal conflict.
Simplicity stops the inner struggle.
So if I can teach myself just keep focusing on this cool,
Calm,
Steady,
Relaxed,
Serene and enjoy my journey,
Whatever it is that I'm doing.
So to focus on this simplicity,
Like get rid of that at the time of doing whatever I'm doing.
And cool yoga is actually taking time to see and experience that I am calm.
I am steady.
I am easy natured.
So to get rid of the clutter that's in the mind,
Keep it simple.
This creates a powerful and a pure energy.
So it can help me to develop easiness and tolerance.
I need both these qualities.
They go hand in hand to help me to make accurate judgments or I will be then unclear if I don't use these energies to be more relaxed and to know that whatever's happening is happening,
Not to get too caught up and just focus on what it is that I'm looking to be doing.
We could also look at this quality of sweetness,
Thinking of something that's quite sweet and nice and kind and that I like.
Because sweetness is combined with inner power.
My inner work is like a constant fire so whatever I think inside is something constant,
Never stops.
My journey never stops.
I don't stop thinking.
I'm always thinking of something.
So it's what I'm actually thinking about this fire,
What am I putting onto this fire,
Am I thinking I'm still having the fire of worry and tension and stress and concern.
There's a lot of strength and determination inside and all this power develops in my mind and intellect so whatever I'm thinking about.
So I can think of sweetness with my inner power and think of worry,
Stress and tension with my inner power and it'll be like a fire.
Whatever it is I'm thinking about.
I don't really want the fire of worry and fear and concern inside me.
I would like my fire inside to be more like accurate judgments and sweetness and easiness and tolerance.
There's a lot of strength and determination inside however if I think of that I can really make myself strong.
Keep assuring myself that I have a lot of strength and determination.
All this power develops in my mind and intellect.
But outside when people look at me I can look quite cool and tranquil,
Smile.
And if I could think of the example for instance of a swan.
A swan is a very beautiful,
Pure,
Calm and peaceful image that glides along the water like effortlessly it just seems to glide along.
But underwater it has very powerful legs and those legs are always in motion just like we have a fire inside that burns.
And I can have anything in there.
I can have things that are upsetting me or things that are keeping me cool and calm.
Its powerful legs are always in motion and so it looks as if it's effortless,
It's gliding along there but in fact it has great strength.
And then I could look at someone who dances,
A dancer.
Everyone loves to look at someone who does beautiful dancing.
They're so flexible,
Usually very beautiful,
Flexible and they can do all sorts of twists and turns and motions that most of us think we could never do with the body.
And a lot of people who practice the yoga would be able to do a lot of things with their body,
Actually be very flexible.
They do leaps and they have elegant poise so it looks very beautiful on the surface.
You would say wow gosh you think they must have been born like that.
You think oh gosh imagine being like that.
But you see they have trained their muscles with discipline and they have a strong core of internal strength,
Of physical strength,
Which if we do meditation we can have that strong core of internal strength where we train our mind to be flexible,
Buoyant,
Twist and turn and be undaunted and stay cool and tranquil on the surface.
So this is what Raja Yoga teaches us.
And so it's good for us to establish and maintain a beautiful conversation with ourself as the spiritual being.
Raja Yoga is focused on the point of energy in the centre of the forehead.
I am this living life energy and I can organize myself to be and say and think and do whatever I want.
And I can accumulate inside me such a power,
Such an inside strength that enables me to feel but also to appear cool and calm,
Steady and relaxed,
Serene and begin to actually experience being fearless and more and more free from worry and concern.
It doesn't mean letting go of responsibility but it means not being dominated by the stress.
And so it goes very beautifully with the exercise of yoga.
So when I establish and maintain this beautiful relationship with myself I'm able to think and begin to understand that all souls are capable of this and it changes my vision of my interactions with other people.
And I see that it's just that people are not practicing being steady and calm and cool and so it gives me a different inside understanding of the patterns of heaviness and negativity but I don't need to keep them.
I can be determined not to give space to these feelings and I can also then begin to understand that there is another energy.
We can see the one above,
The one who's the higher power and when I have that time and I'm interested enough in my own well-being then I can take the time to think that well maybe there is.
Let me at least experiment because this one has the strength to give me that support and so I don't feel I'm doing this alone.
And so I feel I cool down.
I have understanding and I keep things easy,
Light and simple.
I do begin consciously to reduce any internal conflict and I practice simplicity.
Most people who practice the yoga exercises actually have a simplicity about their way of life,
About their lifestyle.
And when I do this Raja Yoga meditation I practice that simplicity in my thinking.
So both these practices can go hand in hand very beautifully.
So I practice reducing this inner struggle and cool yoga is taking time to see an experience that I am calm.
I am calm,
I am steady,
I'm easy natured.
I'm creating powerful pure energy.
I become a natural well-wisher for others.
I think of this coolness.
I spend time with myself and with the ocean of coolness.
And I'm determined.
I use the strength of determination and I remember the swarm that glides serene and has powerful,
Powerful legs underneath the water and the beautiful dancer who everyone goes wow.
The strength that they have from their practice is what shows you that beauty in motion.
So with Raja Yoga the strength I have in the practice on my mind shows a beauty in my interaction with others.
I'm chanting.
I think I have some questions.
Could you say something more about simplicity?
I can see how that relates to coolness but also we're talking about training the mind so thinking deeply about big topics about being a spiritual being about connecting with the divine so can you say something how to kind of ponder or reflect in an accurate way so I don't over complicate keep it simple so I can move into coolness but I'm going deep.
I think the first thing in simplicity is to trust yourself.
You trust yourself for however it is you are otherwise you'll get so complicated saying I can't do this I don't know what it is I don't understand this I don't know what we're talking about so if you get an edge on anything that you can just get a hold of if you have the serious desire to start thinking in a more simple constructive way then just start from where you're at that is keeping it simple.
Something about where I can steer away from the heavier feelings you said that near the beginning so say something about how do I do that about how do I see things more clearly but I keep choosing to go beyond choosing something better this kind of mental exercise of steering away how would you practice that?
I think when we look at the discomfort that comes from the worry especially the fear the heaviness the worry the lack of self trust the lack of self-worth and I see that if there's a better way that makes me feel not like this I might encourage myself to choose the better way hopefully from time to time.
And this idea of an ocean of coolness is beautiful what would be the steps just the daily steps to develop I know you said as well as a nice point start from where you're at so I can't leap to feeling you know that I'm absolutely at one with the divine but what would be the daily kind of steps just to gently play with that idea that I can connect.
I think that if you take on board the fact that there would be an energy or there is an energy that is free from all the worry tension aggravation dislike dishonesty all the heavy tiredness and fear factors and all of that then that one has to be the opposite to all of these and be cool.
So if I'm energy and that one's energy and I connect with that one I begin to feel the characteristics of that one which is a cool energy.
So if I am in connection with a worried person an angry person their anger and their worry will affect me so if I'm in connection with a cool energy their coolness will affect me.
So if I could have faith in that or want to experiment with that test it try it and I might be surprised.
And then maybe just finally to clarify that point about the divine and the connection because some people might have a little bit of concern because sometimes people hear about the source sometimes which be a very forceful power or even judging power so how does that connect with coolness which would seem that you couldn't be together.
Okay well I think when you decide to study and practice Ratshoka you would find that that one it's impossible for there to be force because by the law of energy that one cannot force anything and the connection has to come from you and so as much as you feel you want to explore and understand that has to come from you and that energy is purest energy because it's not human energy it's spiritual pure spiritual power.
So there's no need to be worried or anxious or concerned about being judged or not afraid?
No no need to be worried or concerned just to feel that how lucky what a blessing what a wonder.
So we have some meditation now.
Sitting still and turning my thoughts inside to look at the energy in the center of the forehead.
This energy in the forehead is my energy of life and this energy of life is the energy that sustains my entire body system so I would like that sustenance to be understood and to be constant.
It boosts my immune system it keeps my brain working and my entire body working and that energy in the center of the forehead is my world actually it's me.
I create my thoughts in the center of the forehead and as I create my thoughts I create my world.
And whatever thoughts I create I create an energy pattern and these energy patterns develop more and more positive powerful energy patterns I can create and develop.
Every time I sit in meditation I've created more positive pure and powerful energies in myself in my energy to assist me on my journey and if I take help from a higher energy I can feel the patterns that I've created becoming more and more powerful.
I am a soul a point of light I'm living energy my natural nature is peace and love and my reward is happiness we're entitled to be loved to be happy.
So Raja Yoga encourages me to see the beauty and the wonder of my own nature that I am a beautiful loving energy.
You
