Each day I am presented with obstacles outside my control that can trigger me into a sympathetic nervous state. In this flight or fight response, I cannot navigate life in a way that serves me. This guided mindful moment is designed to help you integrate into a parasympathetic nervous state and access more clarity, creativity, and curiosity. Together let's strengthen our ability to shift back and make choices from a space that serves us.

Hello and welcome.

My name is Nat and I am here to take you through a mindful moment designed to help you reclaim your inner peace.

Each and every day there are moments around me,

Outside of me,

That occur,

Which trigger me into a state,

A nervous response that does not serve me.

The sensations that follow could be tension or heat or maybe a quickened breath rate.

Whatever the sensation that follows,

I know.

I know that I am thrown into a reactive state that does not serve me,

That does not allow me to live from a place that I know I am capable of living from.

And so it is in those moments of awareness,

Of recognizing that I have been triggered,

And that I must reintegrate back into my body,

That I must reclaim my inner peace.

It is a superpower that each and every one of us already have,

An ability that is already within us to claim.

Nothing needs to be created.

It begins with the awareness that we must come back,

An awareness that we have what it takes to pause,

To reintegrate,

And to reclaim our inner peace.

So if this feels like something you need in this moment,

Will you join me now by finding a comfortable position?

Our inner peace has not left us.

We have simply forgotten that it is available to us.

So it is in this moment of pausing that we give ourselves permission to come back,

To remember.

Begin your practice in a seated position or however you may feel comfortable.

Whatever parts of you touch the earth,

Will you allow them to feel connected?

Energetically root down and ground yourself in the place that you exist right now.

Begin to follow your breath without the need to change it or to modify it at all.

Simply notice the inhale and then notice the exhale.

Gently begin to lengthen the breath in and then lengthen it out.

Each new cycle of breath becomes just a little longer than the last.

Each new inhale becomes a little more expansive,

Giving you access to more awareness.

And each exhale a little softer,

Giving you more access to releasing,

A little more access to the gentle spaces that already exist within you.

Aware of the breath,

Not only as it enters and leaves the body,

But as it travels through the body.

Awareness of the parts of you that you can send the breath to.

The sensations that follow as your breath extends even further into the body.

Aware of the flow of your breathing,

The rhythmic in and out effort as your body breathes.

Now guide your attention all the way to your foundation,

To the soles of your feet.

Notice how you can pour all of your awareness into one spot.

Breathe into the soles of the feet,

The tips of each toe.

Feel the calming vibrations of peace as you uncover,

As you recover these elements available to you.

And then slowly as you take your next breath in,

Pull all of that awareness,

The energy in the soles of the feet,

The tips of the toes up towards the ankles.

And as you do feel this wash of energy as you pull up,

Feel a calming,

Grounding,

Relaxed sensation in its place.

Guide the energy up the shins and the calves,

The sensation of relaxing,

Of letting go,

Of disengaging through each and every muscle,

The kneecaps and the knee joints.

Up further through the thighs,

The backs of the legs,

The hamstrings,

Feeling a gentle softening,

A letting go in the wake of this transformative energy that you pull up and through the body with your awareness.

Transferring now to the hips as the hip bones and the pelvis open and widen,

A softening that happens through the pelvic floor,

A heaviness at the back body.

Up further as you allow the belly to soften and move in rhythm with your breath,

The back waist heavy,

The spine long,

A little more space between each vertebrae,

The shoulder blades relax and pull away from one another,

The chest open,

Spreading the collarbones wide as you pull the shoulders down,

As you allow that energy to wash across the chest and down each arm,

Arms heavy where they lay.

Take that energy,

Transfer it past the wrists,

Past the palms,

Feel each knuckle right to the fingertips,

Feel the ease settle over you,

Feel the peace return in its wake.

Drawing that energy up towards the neck as we soften at the front of the neck,

As we loosen at the back of the neck,

As we let the whole head be heavy,

Eyeballs heavy in their sockets,

Cheeks heavy where they rest in space,

Jaws soft,

Loose,

Unhinged,

The ears fall away from the head,

The scalp falls away from the skull,

Whole self,

A state of calm,

A state of ease,

A new awareness of the inner peace as it reestablishes itself within you.

Expand this energy throughout your entire body,

Feel peaceful,

Feel at ease,

Feel calm.

This is your superpower,

Your ability to pause,

To reestablish your inner peace,

To reclaim what you know has always been within you.

It is from here in this peaceful state that I leave you,

That I seal in our practice,

Remain here as long as you need,

As long as you desire.
