This is a short but powerful meditation to bring you back into the present moment, especially when you've been caught in overthinking. When you come into the present moment, stress and anxiety naturally lowers. This is because we come away from the mind and into the body. We also usually find that stressful feelings come up when we ruminate on the past or the future. But often, in the present, all is well. Use this at intervals throughout your day or week to keep coming back to presence.

Let's take five minutes to get present in the mind and in the body.

So many things can take us into the past or the future or just outside of our present body and this is your way to come away from the stress,

The anxiety that that can create and take the power back by coming back into the present moment.

So when you're ready find a comfy position gently closing your eyes and once your eyes are closed i want you to see this as your signal to yourself that you are coming inwards and your signal to yourself that this is you entering into the present moment i want you to start by taking a deep breath here so deep breath if you can in through your nose perhaps hold the breath for a moment when you get to the top and when you're ready exhale everything out through your mouth one more time deep breath in through your nose pause for a moment and release everything out through your mouth and already i just want you to notice how that feels on the body it may have been a little while since you took a deep breather like this your breath is in the present moment this is why the breath can be so powerful to come to because your breath is happening right now in this very moment and so continuing to allow your breath to rise and fall in your body and i want you to see if you can take your focus all the way down to the lower part of your body so starting to become aware of your feet your legs this lower part of the body the root chakra and by doing this we start to create space between the head the racing thoughts up there at the top and we remember that we actually have a body and that a huge part of us is far deeper far more present and far more conscious than the racing mind so when you arrive here in your mind you might like to wiggle your toes just to signify this presence in your feet or even moving the balls of your feet up and down if it feels comfortable to do so you can even take your hands and place them on your knees or your thighs and build a bit of energy there to again awaken this lower part of the body and just start to see the gap between this part of your body and your thoughts as getting bigger and bigger you really feel yourself sinking into a more grounded present version of yourself you feel a weight coming off allowing the belly to rise and fall as you breathe knowing that you do not need to take your mind to everything that has been because what has been has been and you do not need to take your mind right now to what will be even if it's after this meditation or later on today that will come and trust in yourself to deal with that as it comes but the all that exists is this present moment all that exists is the here and now one more deep breath here then everything go so when you're ready gently blinking your eyes open take the time to come back around and remember to come back to this anytime you need
