Day six,

The practice of self-compassion.

Welcome back.

In the last session,

We explored building positive relationships for lasting joy.

Today's objective is to discuss understanding the concept of self-compassion and its connection to joy.

Today's theoretical approach has one part,

The practice has one segment.

The theory for this section states the importance of self-compassion in nurturing joy.

We'll define self-compassion,

Introduce practical techniques,

And guide you in developing a kinder relationship with yourself.

The practice of self-compassion.

Really,

There's no difference between compassion for oneself and compassion for others.

Consider the sensation that compassion brings.

To begin with,

You must be aware of the suffering of others in order to have compassion for them.

You won't be able to emphasize with the homeless person with their situation if you ignore them.

Compassion entails being affected by the suffering of others to the point where your heart feels their sorrow,

Where you feel their sorrow.

The word compassion literally translates as suffer with.

When this happens,

You experience compassion,

Warmth,

And a strong desire to provide relief for the individual who is in need.

And when someone fails or makes a mistake,

Compassion also entails showing them warmth and understanding rather than passing judgment on them.

Self-compassion is a quality that is essential to fostering joy,

And it involves treating yourself with the same compassion and consideration as you would a close friend.

You can cultivate your inner joy and improve your general well-being by comprehending the idea of self-compassion.

By learning useful practices and developing a nicer connection with oneself.

Self-compassion's ability to reduce self-criticism and self-judgment is one of its important strengths.

Many people sabotage their happiness by being too harsh on themselves.

By overcoming these harmful habits,

Self-compassion enables you to be kinder and more forgiving to yourself.

And its capacity to promote emotional resiliency is another good feature.

When you turn out kindness to yourself,

You embrace who you are,

You develop emotional fortitude that makes it easier for you to deal with the difficulties of life.

And the ability to be resilient,

To me anyway,

Is absolutely essential for finding and maintaining joy.

Self-soothing techniques and mindfulness exercises and reframing favorable self-talk are examples of practical self-compassion measures.

You may actively cultivate your inner joy and create a better understanding relationship with yourself by adopting these practices into your daily life where you can.

Ways to practice self-compassion.

Number one,

Reduction of self-criticism.

Now the ability to lessen harshness,

Harsh and unfavorable self-judgments and doubts and self-imposed critiques are frequently torment that people are known for.

And the reduction of this helps.

It involves letting self-compassion in a more forgiving mindset towards oneself take the place of self-criticism.

And this feature acknowledges the possibility of self-criticism as a major source of stress and anxiety and unhappiness.

It entails altering one's internal dialogue,

Being willing to forgive oneself and accept the flaws and the errors that are a necessary component of being human.

People can develop a more positive self-image and enhance their mental and emotional well-being by eliminating self-criticism which may not 100% be the case for everyone.

It is a step in the direction that helps by encouraging more self-compassion and self-love which will ultimately lead to a life that is more joyful and fulfilled and content.

Number two,

Cultivation.

A distinctive feature known as cultivation entails intentionally fostering and honing advantageous traits routines or abilities in one's life.

It is about consciously planting the seeds of one's own development and well-being and then nurturing those seeds as they grow,

If you will.

The attribute here includes a proactive attitude toward self-development and self-improvement.

It accepts that effort and contentment and ongoing learning are necessary for personal growth.

To cultivate beneficial changes in a variety of facets of life,

One must make clear intentions and take calculated activities.

People can live lives that are more in line with their values and objectives by embracing cultivation.

It is a quality that enables people to take control of their personal growth,

Resulting in a more contented and meaningful way of living.

Number three,

Self-acceptance.

Self-acceptance is a quality that centers on accepting oneself for who one is with all of one's virtues and flaws that come with it.

It entails accepting one's individual traits and constraints and flaws without condemnation or self-criticism.

Self-acceptance is similar to giving oneself a warm loving embrace,

Being your own best friend.

It's about understanding that having imperfections and making mistakes as a human does not make one less valuable or less human.

A strong sense of self-worth and self-compassion and a positive self-image are fostered by this trait over and over and over again.

And in fact,

People's self-esteem and general well-being can undergo a remarkable metamorphosis when they practice self-acceptance because it gives people the freedom to live authentically,

Unencumbered by the weight of unattainable standards for themselves.

And self-acceptance is essential to living a happy and contented life because it frees people from the need to wait for external approval or perfection to feel happy and to feel fulfilled.

And finally,

Number four,

Mindful self-care.

Self-care with awareness and intention is emphasized as a quality of mindful self-care.

It entails doing intentional,

Conscious acts of self-compassion to nurture one's physical,

Emotional,

And mental wellness.

Recognizing the value of self-care in upholding a healthy and balanced existence is what this trait is all about.

It entails being aware and present focused in addition to usual self-care routines.

So it entails giving you your all and self-care activities together,

Like taking a relaxing bath and meditating or going for a walk in the park and thinking.

To ensure that you have the emotional and physical resources to contribute to others and fully engage with life,

Practicing mindful self-care is like filling your own cup up.

It fosters resilience,

Emotional control,

And self-awareness.

People can have better mental and emotional health and a closer relationship with themselves by embracing this trait and by putting self-compassion and well-being first.

Mindful self-care is a potent tool for developing a satisfied and joyful life.

So let's sum this up plainly.

Self-compassion is a fundamental element in finding joy within.

What do you think?

Do you agree?

How to self-baseline to measure for success?

By being more compassionate towards yourself,

You can cultivate a deeper sense of happiness.

And by doing so,

That is a strong step in the right direction.

Congratulations,

We've reached the end of this session.

And in the next session,

We will discuss sharing the joy.

Remember,

The more that you think on these concepts,

The faster and easier they will work for you.

Thanks again for allowing me to serve you.

And as always,

Remember,

It's a great day to be alive.

And I'll see you in the next session.

Thanks for listening.

Take care.

Bye for now.
