Hello,
Welcome to Serenity Wellness Podcast.
My name is Nicole White and I'll be your host.
This podcast is dedicated to helping you tap into your full potential of how you can heal and balance your mental,
Emotional,
And physical wellbeing.
Together,
Let's explore inner self,
Connect with our strength,
And manifest your true nature.
One full of love,
Purpose,
And passion.
Welcome to episode 56.
Burdening your soul.
I know a lot has unfolded since my last episode.
Much of what I covered in the masks we wear has unfolded at warp speed.
And I hope you are all staying well during these challenging times we're working through.
Thank you as always for your patience with me getting this out,
But also all the amazing feedback and kindness you've been continuing to throw my way.
So many heart hugs and greatly appreciated.
Just to give you a little update,
In addition to processing the everyday unfoldings,
I've also been settling into some things.
I've mentioned here and there that I was working on an expansion for Serenity Wellness Center.
I located a property I was interested in purchasing and for the past several months since February,
I was attempting to get the township to approve wellness centers in agricultural zones.
Although I provided a good bit of information and even the science and understanding of the relationship with nature and healing,
They ultimately denied my request.
This particular township is just not in a place of readiness to understand the wellness model I use that incorporates our relationship with nature and earth in integrative healing.
And they felt those services belong in commercial zones.
At the same time,
I do live my life with the wellness tools and in the way I speak to you.
So I had no attachment or expectation moving through this,
Which has allowed me to continue on to the next path with relative ease and comfort.
I have shared at one point that my plan was also to be 100% remote to 2222.
So this decision just moved me into doing that now.
And as I'm getting ready to celebrate the six year anniversary of Serenity,
I'm really looking forward to transitioning it into a virtual wellness center,
Which is really exciting because that means I can further develop interpersonal connections with all of you.
As you know,
I typically don't share dates on episodes.
I often will get new listeners with each episode I put out and those listeners will many times go back to the beginning so they can start to build their wellness toolbox.
So the information I put out in these episodes,
Dates are really irrelevant.
At the same time,
I will say that today is July 15th.
And I share that to say that for the month of July,
I have been deeply practicing the experience I'll share with you today.
And as I emerge from this,
I'll be more aligned and refreshed to begin to organize everything I have that is unfolding with the expansion of the virtual platform.
And I really can't wait for all that,
But I'll just leave that there so we can move forward.
Gardening our soul is when we cultivate our truest self.
We clear out weeds and plant seeds to harvest our truth.
Using empathy,
Compassion,
Non-judgment,
And non-expectation as our tools.
These tools are simple,
But that which is simple is not always easy.
We can have weeds growing in our emotional intelligence,
Interpersonal relationship patterns,
Communication habits,
Our addictions to escaping,
And perceptions.
Our perceptions are a huge one.
We all have our own perceptions based on our history,
Experiences,
And learning.
And sometimes they're full rubbish.
We can find ourselves filled with weeds planted by others,
Robotically continuing to water them as they suffocate the voice of our soul.
When you go within,
You get to understand and learn patterns you're stuck in that are not yours.
You learn who you are by learning who you were taught to be.
As you remove the weeds,
You find more space.
You see what is not your truth,
But those things that have been growing aimlessly,
Haphazardly depleting the reservoir within,
Making you clouded and exhausted from even trying to get to know yourself.
At times,
Life can feel like we're on a boat in stormy weather,
Suddenly getting tossed overboard and coming back to surface,
Not knowing where we're at.
A scattered state of being as though fragments of ourself were left on the ocean floor.
Know that when you take time to garden your soul,
Emotions and understanding will unearth and come to surface.
We cannot ignore ourselves and think things will change.
Awareness means growth.
Growth means change.
A lack of awareness continues to keep us on autopilot,
Repeating messages that are not even our own.
Judgments,
Words and criticisms against ourselves and others that are not our truth,
But we continue to water keeping them alive and striving.
At times,
The truth in front of us can be so heavy,
We turn our heads.
The emotions that arise can be ones that are unfamiliar or uncomfortable,
So we want to hurry along.
We might not allow ourselves to listen within and instead,
Live our lives according to how others tell us to think and feel.
Gardening our soul brings our full self to light and allows us to see clearly what is happening around us.
This process can be scattered and chaotic at times.
We can begin to see interconnected emotions,
Memories and imprinted messages that are heavy and deep.
It also brings aha moments of clarity,
Giving a readiness to let go of things that no longer serve us so we can harvest our essential truth.
As we weed out our garden,
We notice our inner dialogue and where these messages and perceptions became rooted.
The generational threads that we continue to harvest.
I have mentioned epigenetics here and there,
But as that reminder,
Epigenetics shows us the impact of generational traumas and how it can spread across 14 generations.
This includes thought patterns and perceptions,
Automatic cycles of response.
Our healing can do the same.
As we heal,
We heal our generational imprints.
We also send that vibration out,
Allowing it to spread.
You can think of it like mint.
When mint is planted,
It spreads out runners to continue to expand and grow.
This loving kindness of healing that vibrates out from our heart space sends out those runners,
Inviting others to grow.
This has been known for eons of time within energy medicine and many areas of science are also now showing us these facts.
In our simplest form,
We are love.
When we take away the scattered mind,
The ego chatter,
The senseless comparisons and judgments,
We are all love.
In order to let go of the weeds that clutter,
We must also have a complete willingness.
Awareness brings us the opportunity and willingness clears the way.
We can have awareness and still be unwilling or unready for action.
We can have a desire and still not find willingness.
Change can be scary.
It can require us to sit with hard emotions to gain clarity and it takes work.
Sometimes our ego can get in the way,
Yelling all it has to say to help us keep those masks on,
Pretending to be someone we're not.
As you clear out your inner garden and begin to plant your seeds,
Ask yourself,
Who do I want to be?
If you were to write a brief introduction about yourself,
What would it say?
Do these things align?
Plant the seeds within yourself.
Design your garden in the way you want.
Would you want to hang out with you?
Practice your inner strengths and skills and be mindful to cultivate them.
Let them support and feed each other.
As you bring awareness to these strengths,
You might consider creating the strength board I've talked about before.
This is when you would get a poster board and maybe some art supplies.
You can just write the words out or maybe use graffiti lettering.
Some people will draw pictures or use cutout things from magazines and such.
Whatever resonates for you.
But what you would do in this is start with a word,
A strength you notice within,
Say compassion,
And then from that word you begin to find other strengths within.
So what else would you notice within as a strength that you have that allows you to have compassion?
So maybe you notice empathy or active listening,
For example.
Sometimes people feel stuck when they try to identify strengths and this is a good way to help really have them evolve on earth and come to surface.
And then over time you have this board filled with all your strengths.
So if you're feeling stuck at times and uncertain of self,
You can gaze at your word for a moment and remind yourself of all that you are.
Take notice also,
What are your fears?
Fears of being you.
Fears of planting the seeds to grow your garden and nourish your soul.
We often get whipped into fears of judgments and condemnation from others.
Fears of disappointing.
Even something like a desire to improve our emotional intelligence can be wrapped around fears.
We can be disconnected from our understanding of the variety of emotions we have or be stuck in a mindset that emotions are weak.
Our ego can make us cling to an unwillingness to acknowledge that we're wrong,
To say I'm wrong,
Thinking that we're protecting our pride or proving something to someone somehow.
We lose sight of our ability to break free from unhealthy cycles,
To learn new information for growth and change.
As you're considering the seeds you plant,
Remember your full body system.
What seeds do you want planted for your physical,
Mental,
Emotional,
And spiritual health?
How will you water them?
If within your physical health,
For example,
You want more strength and vitality,
To water that,
You'll need movement.
What will that movement be?
What ways will you feed your system?
How will you nourish your body?
And what foods align with that plan?
Remembering food is medicine.
What we absorb through our actions,
Our foods,
Our thoughts,
And our environment directly impact us.
If you want your mind to stay active and engaged,
Plant the seed.
How long do you water it?
What ways will you help your mind stay engaged and curious,
Active and alert?
The answers to these questions are not the same for everyone.
That's why gardening our souls help us find our true answers.
What energy also do you surround yourself with?
The individuals you choose to associate with.
And be mindful of energy exchange.
This is where some of those extra challenges are related to boundaries and loving kindness.
People can come to a willingness and desire to make change.
When there is no willingness or desire,
This is when you have to consider those healthy boundaries.
You can do this with holding loving kindness towards the individual as a human with the acceptance that they are where they are and not expecting them to be somewhere else,
Which sometimes means having to cut off relationships.
At the same time,
You can do this while still having loving kindness towards the individual and making healthy and honest choices for yourself.
Also consider your state of flow as you garden.
How do you start your day?
Is it rushed?
Resistance oriented?
What is your ideal start?
You can take a moment to do a free thought exercise where in your journal or on a piece of paper or something,
You write at the top,
My ideal day start or my ideal morning or my ideal start to the day.
I guess I said that backwards.
Whatever it is,
Just write a couple words up there to get you going.
And then it is a free thought where there's not anything about grammar or writing even full sentences.
Just let yourself download and write it out.
Free flow,
5-10 minutes of free flow writing guided by whatever you write at the top of your page,
My ideal morning or start today.
I know sometimes our start today is not always in the morning due to schedules and such.
So that's a way also to get in tune with how you want your state of flow to start in the morning.
You can also check out the episode state of flow to get more in tune with like your full state of flow through your day,
Morning,
Night.
I talk about several different things,
Sleep hygiene there,
Et cetera.
There are things that we can notice when we're planting seeds and watering the areas that are most aligned with our soul,
Our true nature.
It's here we experienced timelessness.
We're all in with all of our senses experiencing the exact moment connecting with the vibration of satisfaction,
Passion,
Joy and curiosity buzzing through us.
When I'm doing things like gardening,
Hiking and creating art,
Dancing or reading things related to certain topics,
If I am engaged in deep conversation about inner exploration or discussions of consciousness,
The things that vibrate within me that spark my curiosity,
Intrigue and passion,
These are the areas that captivate my soul.
Areas within my career life also fall into this.
As I've mentioned in previous episodes,
I've developed my career in alignment with my interest,
Skills and abilities.
I've also chosen my career path as a way to study and learn tools to work on healing my own complex PTSD,
Which then allowed me to create space to assist others.
Because of this,
When I attend trainings,
They are so in alignment with my passions that I enjoy every aspect of learning and connecting with others in my fields of interest.
For this month of July,
For example,
As I'm gardening my soul,
I initially plan to only see my weekly clients and to do all the other stuff that I typically do,
Just kind of hang those hats up for this month and put them back on in August.
But as I started moving through,
I realized that there were some events going on that I really wanted to attend.
So I let myself start attending those too,
Because they are things that water my soul.
What are those seeds that I've planted?
I attended this fantastic webinar last week with Dr.
Jordan Sloshauer,
I think is how he pronounces it,
From Yale,
And it was on his latest research that him and his team are doing working on psilocybin and the treatment of major depression.
Really grateful that I let myself attend that and not have some guidelines on what work means when often my work life is about my passions as well.
As that reminder,
Most things are virtual right now.
So you can pop into events and classes related to your areas of interest and passion all over the world.
There is a lot of research in the area of industrial organization psychology.
So I-O psychology is often what it's known as.
And that shows us the elevation of life satisfaction,
When we align our careers with our natural skills,
Abilities and interests.
I think I've talked about that some in the collecting gratitude episode.
But it has shown us through all these different models of research,
Just how much our life satisfaction,
Life expectancy,
Even how long we live,
Has to do with how well we're able to align our careers with our natural skills,
Abilities and interests.
So what seeds can you plant to get yourself in alignment?
When we go within and clear the weeds,
We can also remember our passions.
As adults,
We at times can forget pieces of who we are.
Those fragments left upon the ocean floor.
Clients will tell me at times how they will feel lost trying to remember what they like,
Their passions,
The things that create joy and excitement,
The experiences that let them be all in,
Having those moments of timelessness.
When we follow threads back to what used to excite us,
It can bring to surface the feelings and how it got away,
Giving us insight and clarity of how to continue.
So what are those seeds again?
Allowing that vibration of oneness with your soul.
I'll be excited to hear what begins to blossom as you garden your soul.
There are many individuals working through challenging emotions and thoughts right now.

With my new transition,
I will be making that process easier in the near future.
But for now,
Most titles will give you a good idea,
The short descriptions more so,
Or you might want to start at the beginning to really build your foundation of tools.

A great podcast Nicole! The season I’m in with my elderly parents presently require so much time and energy than I have little left to give myself. I’ll be making the hard decisions in the coming weeks for facilities for each of them. With my care and almost daily involvement they have remained in their home at the ages of 92 & 93. Sadly my mama is refusing to leave home forcing me to make the decision for her. With this being said once I have them settled I can get back to working on all the things I’ve neglected for my self care and happiness. I look forward to rekindling old friendships or beginning new ones. I’m ready to live again!! So good to be with you this morning and I wish nothing but the very best for you and Serenity Wellness in the coming days. I appreciate your work and the time you devote to help each of us navigate this life journey we are on so if can be the best we can make it! We need all these tools to do that and you have generously provided those to us in your podcasts. Much love. Beverly 💜
