Hello,
My name is Jen,
And today I will be guiding you through a gentle practice of uncovering,
Of unfolding and unwinding.
The way in which we live in this moment,
In this time,
Is so often to fill every gap,
Every space,
And every pause with more.
And although it comes naturally to many of us to do and to help,
To caretake,
There is a toll that can be left when we don't utilize and take time in those moments where we can pause,
Where we can rest,
To really uncover,
To settle and to ground our bodies.
So let this soft and gentle practice be one that allows you to find a moment of restoration,
A moment of respite in the chaos of your life,
Softening the jaw,
The eyelids.
If it feels safe and comfortable for you,
Perhaps you would like to even gently close down the eyes,
Relaxing the muscles even beneath the eyelids.
Relax the arms,
The hands,
The belly,
Relax the back,
The legs,
All the way down to the soles of the feet.
And as your body begins to relax,
Just notice those habitual places that the body holds tension,
The places where your body sometimes holds so often that you don't even realize it's holding.
And soften even more and even if they don't perhaps move,
Just imagine ease making its way through the fascia,
Through the connective tissue that is holding the muscles and the bones together.
Feeling the body soft,
Feeling the body tender.
And as you begin to settle here in the body,
Just imagine warmth making its way through your whole body from the top of your head down through the body,
Relaxing the body deeper.
Now begin to bring awareness into the movement of your breath without forcing,
Without adjusting.
The simple action of noticing an inhale and an exhale.
The rise and the fall,
The expansion and the contraction.
And if you feel drawn to it,
Perhaps now slowly and softly beginning to add a little bit of length to each and every inhale and exhale.
Slowly and softly making your way into a more intentional movement of breath in your body.
Breathing all the way in through the nose down to the deepest part of your belly,
Expanding the whole body with your breath.
Feeling that breath spread through your whole body.
And exhaling gently and softly through the lips.
Feeling the offloading of what is not serving the body as well as the grounding and the softening and the release of your exhale.
Inhaling fully and exhaling completely.
The full movement of breath in your body.
And settling in.
And listen.
She paused and in the silence the voices inside her head were overwhelmingly loud.
She kept pushing to keep up,
Never allowing herself a moment to catch her breath.
She couldn't silence the noise she so badly yearned to quiet.
Yet she found herself drawn to this screaming in the silence.
She often found herself drawn to the busy parts of life.
The overdoing parts that kept her heart quiet and her soul silenced.
The ones that pull strings right out of her heart with weights attached on the opposite ends.
So with every step taken they're collecting behind her.
She is led to be the doer,
The fixer,
The healer.
She wouldn't have it any other way.
But the heaviness that often builds in all the doing leaves her heart broken and her emotions depleted.
Yet in the emptiness she always finds a way to lift her chin up,
Continue supporting,
Doing,
Fixing,
And healing.
However,
She felt it coming.
The weights collecting,
Stacked higher than she could see,
Making it impossible for her to step forward.
With no choice,
She paused.
She listened.
The silence felt so loud,
Screaming in sorrow the tales of the tired soul she'd neglected.
She surrendered.
She listened.
She closed her eyes.
She told her soul she is here.
She is ready.
She listened.
Her heart became slow.
The racing of her heart calming with ease.
Where she thought she'd drown in overwhelming guilt,
Fear,
And feelings of never enoughs,
She felt support.
Her heart and her soul had been waiting for her,
Waiting to show her the support and safety she forgot she needed.
So she listened.
With each breath she felt it so strong,
The weighted strings attached to her heart,
One by one releasing their attachment.
Feeling as though with each weight removed,
A piece of her was coming back into place.
She listened.
Her breath felt full of support,
Her body warm and safe,
And in that moment she came back to herself.
With complete ease and without trying,
She knew with unwavering awareness all that was missing was there all along.
It was just silenced in the noise.
So in this space,
She allowed her heart and her soul to be reunited.
Complete.
Completely enough.
Completely whole.
She heard the words,
You are here.
You are safe.
You are supported.
You are loved.
She felt them deep within herself.
She listened.
Settling in the body,
Feeling the uncovering,
Noticing the tenderness,
The softness,
The connectivity with yourself.
Bringing awareness now back into the movement of your breath,
Your inhale,
And your exhale.
Feeling the body,
Reminding yourself to utilize and take moments to listen.
And as you do that,
Let go of all the attachments,
All the attachments that are holding you back.
Let go of all the attachments that are holding you back.
Let go of all the attachments that are holding you back.
Your inhale,
Reminding yourself to utilize and take moments to listen.
