Hi everyone,
Welcome to Gentle Waters Day 1.
Today we are going to come into the remembrance of who we are through our breath.
So you can make yourself really comfortable in a seated position.
If you feel like it,
Reach your hands up through both sides interlacing your fingers and take a full body stretch and try to let out a great big yawn.
And as you exhale through your mouth,
Rest your hands anywhere they want to be placed.
And here with your eyes closed,
Allow your eyeballs to sink towards the back of your head.
Bringing your attention gently and slowly to the river of your breath.
And here we begin.
After your next cycle of breath,
Into your whole body,
Inhale for 5.
Let it be gentle.
And through your nose,
Exhale for 5.
And through your nose for 5,
Into your whole body.
From your nose,
Exhale for 5.
And keep going,
Just like this,
In and out through your nose for 5.
Expanding your entire body on inhale.
And on exhale,
Come into a state of rest.
More and more into this state of rest.
With every breath,
We are weaving the foundations of a safe haven,
A sweet sanctuary.
That we can continue to return to.
That we can continue resting within.
And maybe begin to envision a warm glow from within.
From the breath.
A very humble,
Very soft,
Warm glow.
Illuminating your being from within.
As you continue to let your mind rest in this way.
Just notice if the breath seems to be sweeping out or sweeping up.
Any part of you that might crave attention or love,
Presence.
Any part of you that today may be ready to be remembered.
Continue breathing as you are while you just rest.
Your attention on this place,
This part within,
Wherever they might be.
And if 5 feels comfortable for you.
Begin to inhale for 6.
And exhale for 6.
Still very present within you,
The warm glow.
Allowing it to fill you up.
To nourish you.
To bathe you.
This is the energy of spirit.
Here I'm going to begin activating a kasma,
Quantum energy.
Just let yourself receive.
This energy doesn't do anything to you or within you.
It simply serves as a support.
For you to hold space for yourself.
In for 6 and out for 6.
If that feels comfortable.
See if you can pour a bit more breath into your back body.
I'm going to continue breathing in for 5 or 6 and breathing out for the same amount.
Just that right here,
Bring your right thumb to close your right nostril.
We'll begin Nadi Shodhana.
After your next exhale,
In through your left nostril for 6.
With your fourth finger,
Close your left nostril.
Release your right thumb,
Exhale through right nostril for 6.
From your right nostril,
In for 6.
Your left nostril,
Out for 6.
Left nostril,
In for 6.
Right nostril,
Out for 6.
And repeat this ever so gently,
Tenderly.
Enjoying your breath.
Letting your breath enjoy you.
Letting your breath take pleasure in filling you up.
And journeying around you,
Within you.
Keep breathing just like this.
In and out through alternating nostrils for 6.
Cleansing and purifying both the lunar and solar pathways of our bodies.
Conscious and unconscious house of the brain.
And maybe right here,
To the part that perhaps wanted your attention earlier.
If you could ask for it.
In this moment,
What might it need?
What might it want or desire?
Just see if an image emerges,
A word comes in,
A knowing is received.
Allow the response to just rest within the gentle waters of your body,
Your consciousness.
Nourishing it with your breath.
Gentle stream,
Fluid river of your breath.
Notice the glow within you now,
The glow of your breath.
If there is any difference.
Maybe in its hue,
Its colour,
Its movement,
Its density.
Just notice and then bring your attention back to breath.
And notice too if there are thoughts that seem to be emerging.
Invite them to join you in the stream of your breath.
Give them a place here in our practice together.
After your next exhale through your left nostril,
Release your right hand down.
Take your time.
And return to regular breath,
Releasing any counts.
Notice perhaps a shift in your inner state.
A shift in the physical state of your body.
Acknowledge yourself here,
Greet yourself here.
Say hi to yourself here.
Resting upon the remembrance of who you really are.
Maybe this is not a knowing,
But perhaps it's a sensing,
A feeling.
Take your time here to lie down.
Make yourself super comfortable.
He always thought of the sea as la mar,
Which is what people call her in Spanish when they love her.
Sometimes those who love her say bad things of her,
But they were always said as though she were a woman.
Some of the younger fishermen spoke of her as el mar,
Which is masculine.
Others spoke of her as a contestant or a place or even an enemy.
But the old man always thought of her as feminine and as something that gave or withheld great favors.
And if she did wild or wicked things,
It was because she could not help them.
The moon affects her as it does a woman,
He thought.
Through your mouth,
Inhale,
Try to catch a yawn.
Through your mouth,
Exhale,
Release.
And in this moment,
The pure essence of you,
Feel that.
Feel that within your body.
The sorest part of you.
Whatever that means for you.
And from this place,
If there is a tender wish that you have,
A desire,
A hope or a dream from the softest part of you,
Can you let the image of your dream,
This dream,
Rest upon heart space?
And if you wish,
You can rest both hands on heart space.
And just begin breathing in and out,
Into heart,
Out from heart.
Full breaths.
So you needn't count.
But just enjoying full breaths here.
Breathing your dream to life.
This dream that is birthed from your true essence.
The pure spirited part of you.
And let the dream rest onto the back of your heart.
And breathe in like you are making the bed for this dream to rest upon.
For a really deep,
Sweet slumber.
Continue breathing into and out from heart space.
Allowing your dream to dream.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Let me be like water.
Take a deep breath in.
Through your mouth release.
Imagine tucking your dream like a little child under the duvet.
And leaving them be.
Bring your attention now to your womb space.
Shift your hands to your womb space.
And here just pour your love,
Your attention to womb space.
Into this place we breathe.
So just like what we did before.
Very deep,
Slow,
Nourishing and deliberate breaths.
Allowing breath to have a wonder around this sacred part of us.
It could be our physical womb space or energetic womb space.
Where we nurture,
Where we nourish,
Where we grow.
So here within womb space.
What is the part of you that you wish to nurture?
To take care of?
To pour more love into?
Patience or compassion?
Can you invite these parts of you here into womb space?
Hug them with your breath.
The warmest embrace.
A hug that feels like home.
And let yourself experience this fully.
Breathing into womb space deeply.
Taking time to breathe out completely.
Nourishing the different parts of you.
Immersing them with love.
The remembrance of their true nature.
That they already are perfect.
That there is no need for any of these parts.
To be more of anything,
Less of anything.
For us to witness them,
See,
Hold and love them.
As they are.
Breathing into the walls of your womb.
And here,
You can continue as you are.
But shift one hand to your heart.
Leave the other hand resting on womb space.
After your next exhale,
Inhale into your whole body.
Exhale from your whole body.
Twice more,
Inhale into your whole body.
Exhale from your whole body.
And again,
Inhale into your whole body.
From your whole body,
Exhale.
For just a few moments.
Into your womb space,
Breathe in halfway.
Into your heart,
Breathe in the rest of the way.
And breathe out completely.
You remember this pattern.
Belly halfway.
Heart all the way in,
All the way through.
And all the way out.
Feel here the inner glow that you have cultivated.
This is the glow of prana.
The glow of breath.
And keep breathing just like this.
Allowing this glow to illuminate,
Ignite.
The parts of you in the womb.
And the dream that's resting in heart space.
The wish,
The hope,
The intention.
Let the glow bring all of these parts of you alive.
To enliven them just by simply existing.
Notice where there is opportunity to deepen.
Give yourself permission to do that.
And also to feel more into what you are already feeling.
As we begin to deepen our breath.
We simultaneously begin to deepen the depths.
Of what is ready to be felt within us.
So be gentle with yourself.
Without rush.
Without hurry.
But let yourself enjoy the experience of this glow.
After your next exhale.
Release your hands completely.
You can rest them by your sides,
Palms facing up.
Or on your body or you can leave them be.
Through your mouth take a yawn.
Release the yawn.
And let yourself just rest here.
Rest.
Float.
Be carried by the gentle waters.
Of your breath.
Your body.
Of you.
Enjoy.
Begin to deepen your breath.
Bring awareness gently back to your body.
Feeling the temperature on your skin.
The ground beneath you.
The support beneath you.
Wriggling your toes,
Your fingers.
Through your mouth take a yawn.
Through your mouth release.
Slowly reach your arms over your head.
Interlace your fingers.
Take a full body stretch.
Breathe in.
Breathe out giving voice to your exhale.
Rub your hands together.
Place your hands over your heart space.
And give thanks to you for showing up for yourself.
For making yourself matter.
For pouring into and nourishing yourself in this way.
Tender,
Gentle,
Homecoming.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Rub your hands together again.
And this time cover your eyes.
Greeting the darkness.
And giving thanks to the darkness for offering to us today.
To you today.
All the parts of you that has been ready to be remembered.
Integrated and welcomed back home.
Breathe in.
As you exhale gently flutter your eyelids open.
And slowly release your fingers.
Your hands taking in the space around you.
Noticing how your room might look,
Feel different.
Because you feel different.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Thank you so much for joining me in practice today.
I'll see you tomorrow.
