Hello and welcome to this mindfulness meditation with a focus on setting our day up for success.

In this meditation we're going to focus on aligning our thoughts and our intention and our nervous system with the things that we want to set up to accomplish today and the way in which we want to feel in doing that and so wherever you are I want you to first and foremost connect with the ground with the earth and that means physically settling into a space that is comfortable a posture that is comfortable and once you've done that it may take you a few wiggles and movements to kind of settle fully in and then if and when you're ready once your body is feeling connected still calm I want to encourage you to either close your eyes if you're comfortable or you can bring your gaze down to somewhere that is still I want you to focus on now further creating that connection by sensing the parts of your body that are in contact with the ground the chair armrests backrests as you're doing this just start to focus on taking some nice long inhales through the nose and an even longer slower exhale through the mouth even in the simplest ways we can start to find small pockets of gratitude and appreciation for the fact that we are here we are present we have this moment of connection the simple fact that we can feel ourselves connected to the ground is something worth celebrating in all the busyness of day-to-day life the fact that we can just be here and be connected so continue to find those breaths and develop that rhythm of inhales through the nose deep down to your belly exhale through the mouth ideally a little bit longer than that inhale and as you find that rhythm and as you find the connection to the ground what we're also doing is we're getting our nervous systems ready to be in tune to be our partner throughout the day today we're giving our nervous systems and our arrest and digest our parasympathetic nervous system a nice massage we're nurturing and cultivating that just with these simple breaths and with the simple focus of where we are connected to the earth now I want you to shift that thought that sense of connection and in your mind's eye and in kind of a visualization capacity I want you to start to think about where are you going today what is most important in your life today what is the the thing the activity the conversation if you get that thing right if you show up in a flow state and absolutely do your best work there that you accomplish the most important task and I want you to pull that experience that little visualization into your mind's eye and I want you to spend a few breaths envisioning what it looks and feels like to be operating at your best in that moment of most important focus today feel the sensations of flow of mastery of you having impact through showing up at your very best when you know it is most important and you can have confidence in knowing that our brains will treat this visualization as if it is reality and so the more that you can evoke the emotions the feelings the senses of that experience in the future the more your brain will start to prepare itself to show up in the same capacity later on finally I want us to connect to one more important thing today and that is taking that connection we went from where we are right now our present moment we moved into our most important focus our most important moment of showing up today to have impact and we're gonna shift that connection to one thing that we are unequivocally grateful for to have in our lives today it can be something small it can be something big but it has to matter and so again I want you to bring into your mind's eye a visualization of just one one thing that you are wholly grateful for in your life right now I want you to feel that gratitude pulsing through your entire body despite what's going on in the world around you and maybe the busyness or intensity or stress or pressure of your life I want you to hold this moment sacred just for a breath of full gratitude now I want you to take one deep breath in nourishing breath think about all those three things that we just touched on hold it at the top and then let it all out and just sit at the bottom of that exhale for a second grateful for the work and the way that you have just set your day up for success and with the next inhale you can wiggle your toes and your hands maybe shrug your shoulders feel the life coming back into your body when you're ready you can open your eyes go forward with the intention that you just set today with the energy and every step and every breath that you've done the work to set yourself up for success I hope you have a great day
