Thank you for being here.
I welcome and invite you into this space with your whole self.
I invite you to put the bags down and take a deep breath.
My name is Shania Gordon and I am here to guide you through a meditation.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated position.
You can sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor or on a cushion with your legs crossed.
I even invite you to lie down if that's what you feel called to do.
Allow your spine to be straight but not rigid and your hands to rest gently wherever you see fit.
This experience should feel safe.
If at any point you no longer feel safe,
I invite you to end the meditation.
Close your eyes if that feels comfortable for you and begin to bring your attention inward.
Let's start by taking a few deep breaths.
Inhale deeply through your nose,
Filling your lungs completely and then exhale slowly through your mouth,
Letting go of any tension or stress from today.
Do this a few more times,
Allowing your breath to become a little more relaxed with each cycle,
Allowing yourself to let go of the baggage if only for this moment.
There's nowhere you need to be and there's no one who needs you in this moment other than yourself.
Now let your breath find its natural rhythm.
There's no need to control it.
There's no need to control anything.
Simply observe the breath as it flows in and out of your body.
Notice the sensation of the breath as it enters through your nostrils and flows into your lungs and then gently leaves your body again.
Pay attention to the coolness of the air as you inhale and the warmth of the air as you exhale.
If your mind begins to wander,
Gently bring your attention back to your breath It's natural for thoughts to arise and when they do acknowledge them,
Most importantly without judgment and then return your focus to the sensation of your breath.
Always come back to the breath.
You might notice the rise and fall of your chest or the gentle expansion and contraction of your abdomen.
Wherever you feel your breath most clearly,
Allow your attention to rest there.
Anchor yourself in that.
There's nowhere you need to be.
Everything else can wait.
Continue to observe your breath for the next few minutes.
Simply be with it moment to moment to breath.
That's how life flows.
And we can flow better with life when we can slow down and catch moment to moment breath to breath.
When you are ready to end this meditation,
I invite you to take a deep,
Deep,
Deep breath.
And as you exhale,
I invite you to start wiggling your toes and your fingers and gently start to open your eyes.
Take a moment to see how you feel.
Bringing this sense of awareness with you as you move through the rest of your day.
It is my absolute honor to be here with you.
And I invite you to thank yourself for being here as well.
You showed up for you.
May you have peace.
May you have love.
May you have community.
Be blessed.
