Hi my name is Rachel and today's practice will be doing an intention setting meditation and this is best done at the start of the week but it can also be done anytime.
So getting comfortable in either a seated upright position or laying down.
Beginning to notice all your surroundings and beginning to notice your breath and the movement of your breath.
And on the next exhale you can gently close your eyes.
Beginning to notice all the different sounds in the room.
Any smells,
Maybe noticing if there's a taste in your mouth.
And beginning to notice any points of touch.
So noticing where the palms of your hands are resting.
How your thighs touch the surface on which you're seated on.
How your clothing feels against your skin.
How the air feels against your skin.
And really feeling yourself grounded to the surface on which you're seated on.
Completely surrendering to it,
Letting it hold you up.
And you can do a gentle body scan starting at the top of your head and ending at your toes.
Just noticing if there's any points of tension and letting go of that tension or stress.
And just relaxing into the surface on which you're seated on.
So moving down your body.
Ending at your toes.
And now placing your attention on your breath.
Noticing the movement of each inhale and each exhale.
Sometimes at the start of a new week we can feel overwhelmed with either how much we have to accomplish or maybe not even knowing what we want out of the week.
So from this place of quiet mind and relaxed body,
I'll be asking you some questions and letting whatever answer come natural from a place of non-judgment.
So the first question you can ask yourself is,
What is my number one priority for this coming week?
What is my number one priority for this coming week?
Letting whatever answer come naturally and if you notice judgment,
Just letting it go and returning to the question.
The next question you can ask yourself is,
What is something kind I would like to do for myself this week?
What is something kind I'd like to do for myself this week?
And the next question you can ask yourself is,
What is something kind I'd like to do for somebody else this week?
What is something kind I'd like to do for somebody else this week?
And the last question you can ask yourself is,
If I get stuck,
I will remember.
If I get stuck,
I will remember.
And you can finish the sentence.
And setting the intention to follow through with your answers for this coming week.
So you can begin to slowly reconnect with the surface on which you're seated on.
Noticing how your weight falls if it falls evenly.
Noticing how your clothing feels against your skin.
How the air feels against your skin.
Noticing any sounds in the room.
Any smells.
And before you open your eyes,
Maybe you can set the intention to write down your answers for all these questions so as not to forget to follow through with your priorities for this coming week.
Whenever you feel ready to do so,
You can gently open your eyes,
Returning to your surroundings.
Thank you so much and I hope you have a beautiful week.
