Stop and heal— a guided meditation meant to reduce stress, anxiety, and find calm and balance in your breath. We will mentally repeat a short gatha, or phrase, on our inbreath and on our outbreath as we draw our awareness into our bodies and back into our hearts. This brief, meditation will help you come home to your body through the anchor that is your breath. If you are dealing with difficult times right now, whether it is grief, depression, or stress— I hope that this provides you relief.

Thank you so much for being here for this meditation.

Stop and heal.

Take a gentle seat wherever you are.

Whether it's on a chair,

Laying down in a bed,

Or seated on the floor.

Slowly place your hands on your knees,

Flutter your eyes closed,

And allow everything to stop around you.

You may notice sounds or smells.

You may notice other things fluttering around,

Capturing and seeking your attention.

Allow everything external to fade away.

Slowly notice your breathing,

Drawing your attention to this present moment,

This precious moment.

Notice how your body rises on the inhale and falls gently on the exhale.

I invite you on your inhale to internally say the words,

I rest here.

As you inhale,

Say the words,

I rest here inside of your mind.

And as you exhale,

Say the words,

I am home.

So on a big inhale,

Feeling the body rise,

Say,

I rest here.

And as you exhale,

I am home.

On each inhale,

Repeat,

I rest here.

On each exhale,

Repeat,

I am home.

Feel your mind move through these words as your breath moves through you.

Continue like this for a few more breaths.

And if your mind wanders,

Come back.

I rest here.

I am home.

For the last time together,

Let's take another big inhale,

Feeling the shoulders lift,

Feel the body respond,

And say,

I rest here inside your mind.

And as you exhale,

Feeling the shoulders soften,

Feeling your body melt,

Say,

I am home.

We say these words so that we can stop and come home to the present moment,

Come home to our breath,

Come home to our bodies,

And come home to ourselves by resting in our breath,

By letting that be our anchor,

The place that keeps us stable,

No matter where we may go.

Our anchor always roots us to the present moment,

To the precious moment.

Remember,

It is when we stop that we heal.

You may gently come back to the room if you are ready,

Gently moving your fingers lightly on your knees,

Opening your eyes just halfway.

Whenever you're ready,

Be fully present right where you are.

Hurry up.
