Hello and welcome to Your Journey Yoga.
My name is Natalia and today we have a guided meditation for connecting with the wisdom of the heart and the wisdom of the mind.
This practice can be done seated or lying down,
Whatever is feeling most supportive for you today.
Take a moment to find your meditation shape,
Settle in,
And we'll begin.
Allow yourself to arrive into this moment of time as softly,
As gently as you can,
Letting the breath be in its most natural state,
Allowing the eyes to close,
Relaxing the muscles of your face.
And even if there is some tension or restlessness in the body,
Trust in the way that the body feels in this moment.
And allow your awareness to travel somewhere that feels the most tense,
The most restless,
And welcome in the breath to that space.
Using your inhale to create space and your exhale to soften,
To release.
Breathing as deeply and as expansively as it feels good for you.
Do this for a few rounds of breath,
Giving any tension or restlessness the opportunity to slow down and simplify with you,
Letting the body know it is safe to relax right now.
As the space you're currently resting your awareness and breath in begins to soften and open up,
Feel free to continue breathing this way into any other areas that are feeling tense or restless or sore.
And let this be your simple practice for the next few moments,
Bringing the body,
Mind,
And spirit into resonance,
Letting all parts of yourself slow down,
Landing here in this moment as you are.
And as you continue to soften into the now,
I'll invite you to bring your hands to rest on your heart.
Maybe physically feeling your heartbeat at first,
The warmth of your hands on your chest.
Allow your awareness to soften into this energetic and physical space.
Just noticing what's present here.
If it feels a bit tender,
Just trust that.
Let it be.
Just checking in with the heart,
How it's feeling right in this moment,
Saying thank you to whatever it is that's present in the energy space of the heart.
And then allow yourself to connect with the mind by bringing your thumbs or any two fingers to rest and press gently into the space between your eyebrows.
If you feel called to bring your hands to the crown of your head,
You could also give yourself a gentle scalp massage for a couple of moments and just tune in to the space of the brain.
What thoughts are present?
How does the head physically feel?
Checking in,
Noticing what's here and thanking anything that is.
You can continue connecting physically with the mind and or with the heart or you can allow your hands to rest somewhere else now.
The wisdom of the mind and the wisdom of the heart are not separate,
Though often we act like they are.
They actually function better when they can co-create,
When we can allow the desires of our heart to help us lean into clarity and discernment with the mind.
They are not here to oppose each other.
They are companions and when we allow the mind and the heart to co-create together,
There is so much more clarity and deliciousness that we can connect with on our path forward.
So as you rest here,
Attuning to the mind and the heart,
Imagine an energetic channel in between the two.
Trust in however this arrives in your visual space.
How does the channel between mind and the heart appear to you?
And does it feel clouded or muddled in any way?
Constricted or is it expansive and flowing?
Does it seem as though one end of the channel is a bit more clogged up than the other?
Are there any barriers in the heart?
Any tension in the mind?
Can you sense any yearning or confusion?
Worrying or burning desire?
Continue to soften into this vision of the channel between heart and mind and trust in whatever is coming up for you here.
We're just attuning to what is first.
You don't need to jump into changing or alchemizing.
Just notice.
Sometimes when we lean too heavily into the mind or too heavily into the heart,
It becomes difficult for the other to communicate.
The mind to the heart,
The heart to the mind.
So we're going to go in intentionally to both to clarify,
To listen,
To set intention.
Connect with the space of your heart now more deeply.
Asking the heart,
What is your deepest wish for me,
For my life,
For this circumstance?
How may I best honor this wish?
In what ways do you feel exhausted,
Overused,
Or unheard?
Asking the heart what it would like the mind to know and then imagine the channel between the heart and the mind expanding,
Clearing,
And the clarity of the wishes of the heart travel to the mind and a spark ignites.
Connecting more deeply now with the space of the mind.
Sensing it,
Holding it,
And asking the mind,
What is your wish for me,
For my life,
For this circumstance?
How can I move with clarity,
Discernment,
Truth?
Are there things that I have been subconsciously ignoring?
Are there things I've been subconsciously dishonest with myself about?
Asking the mind,
In what ways do you feel exhausted,
Overused,
Or unheard?
Asking the mind,
What it would like the heart to know?
Letting this communication travel clearly through the channel down to the heart,
Again allowing a spark to ignite.
You can continue allowing the heart and the mind to communicate to each other and or engage in the act of clearing this channel,
Observing the barriers that may be present and gently allowing any of those barriers to dissolve or alchemize into something else.
Trust in whatever arises for you here.
There is no right or wrong.
Just intend to listen,
To be present,
And if it all feels a bit too much,
Know that you can always return to simply observing your breath and simplifying.
Wherever your awareness is right now,
Allow it to condense down into three big full breaths welcoming a little bit of movement into the body if that feels good,
Perhaps gently blinking the eyes open and reorienting to where you are in physical space.
Thank you so much for taking the time to communicate with the mind and the heart.
This is a practice that you can return to at any time and one that you can do in your own ways.
I appreciate your time and your energy and I'll see you in the next practice.
Namaste.
