Hello and welcome.
My name is Lexi Bebbington and I'm here to support you on your journey of self-discovery.
So if you've ever felt yourself feeling a whole lot of complicated emotion,
And deep down you'd like to access a place of quiet,
Calm,
Clarity,
And you've not quite known how to reach that part,
And you'd like a way of feeling the peace beneath your thinking in this moment,
Then I invite you to join me on this short meditation that gives you an opportunity to go beneath the noise,
To the quiet underneath.
It's a little bit like if you're looking at an ocean and you see the waves,
There can be so much turbulence on the surface,
And yet if you go beneath the waves there is quiet and stillness and depth.
So this is a very practical exercise that enables you to have access to the quiet in you that is just underneath the turbulence of your thinking.
So if this sounds interesting,
I invite you to make sure that you're comfortable and then take a slow deep breath in through your nose,
And out through your mouth,
And again in through your nose,
And out through your mouth.
That's right.
And very gently allow your eyes to close.
Let your body relax.
And just for now,
Allow yourself to forget about everything from the past,
From a second ago,
A minute ago,
An hour ago,
A week ago,
A year ago,
Five years ago,
A decade ago and beyond.
Just erase everything from the past.
Just for now,
You can have it all back later,
But for now just let it go.
That's right.
Almost like you're editing and you're just snipping out a part so that you don't need to think about it in this moment.
You're just letting it go for now,
As if you're putting it in a cupboard to save for later.
And now erase everything from the future,
Any kind of worries that you might have about anything that might be showing up for you in the future,
A minute from now,
An hour from now,
A week from now,
A month from now,
A year from now and beyond.
Just let go of anything,
Any worries that you might have about the future just for this exercise.
And then even erase every kind of judgment that you have about this very present moment,
Including who you think you are,
Your name,
Your personality,
Your gender,
All of it.
No judgments about this very present moment.
That's right.
And take another slow deep breath in and out.
And then when you're sitting here with your mind clear of all of those concepts of the past,
Of the future,
And even of the present,
What remains is pure awareness,
Quiet,
Calm awareness.
And it's the same awareness that we have always been and that we will always be.
So this is a really gentle way to experience who we truly are when our thinking is quieted down.
And that is whole and complete and can never be broken or damaged in any way.
It's like the sky.
There may be storms and rain and wind and all kinds of weather,
But the sky can never be damaged.
And who we are underneath the turbulence of our thinking is always calm and clear and quiet.
So I invite you to spend a moment here just enjoying that space.
Let yourself feel it fully.
Take another slow deep breath in and let your body relax as you breathe out.
And when you feel ready,
I invite you to slowly open your eyes and reorient with the room.
And take a moment to appreciate the time that you have given to yourself here today.
And I invite you to carry this sense of peace and tranquility,
This calm,
This clarity,
This space with you as you continue throughout the rest of your day.
