This practice guides you into holding loving space for your dark/shadow moments. Life holds a balance of Light and Dark, and the Dark parts can sometimes be pushed aside or neglected. This meditation creates an opportunity to be still and Witness our Shadow Moment of fear, grief, sadness. In holding this place of being our own Witness, we open ourselves up to profound self-acceptance and healing. This meditation is led in first person, "I," to connect you more deeply to yourself.

Transcript

Life is a beautiful journey,

A continuous spiral of alternating opposites.

We move through a constant flow of ups and downs,

Highs and lows.

It's a natural desire to attach to those feel-good moments and in having those experiences that we label as negative.

We tend to do everything in our power to repress or ignore or even optimistically talk ourselves out of those experiences.

Yet how often do we give kind and patient attention to that inner uncomfortableness?

How often do we allow the lower moments,

Those darker moments,

To be held in sacred witness?

How often do we allow the shadow to be heard in order to be healed?

Within this intention meditation,

There will be quiet moments of reflection interspersed with the guided sections.

Let us begin.

As you close your eyes,

Breathe in,

Lifting the spine and then exhale to let your posture settle.

Breathe in,

Lifting the shoulders slightly up and back to open the heart center.

Exhale and feel the shoulders rest while keeping the chest open.

Breathe in and feel that your sit bones are holding you,

Comfortable and balanced.

Exhale and adjust your seat if needed for comfort.

Then breathe normally.

I feel my feet supported and grounded into the earth.

The love of Mother Earth's energy rises up from her central core to meet my feet with nurturing,

Support and strength.

She is the center of my groundedness.

I am held safely and lovingly in this presence.

The energy moves up and through me,

Bringing peacefulness and healing throughout my entire body.

I surrender to the comfort and I am completely at ease.

Where I sit with awareness,

I am still to listen.

I am holding space to feel.

I am open to understand.

I hold myself in lovingness.

I am compassion and patience.

I choose to be still and honor all these thoughts that pull through many fluctuations of emotion.

The stillness allows me to fully experience these opposing directions of sadness and then happiness,

Fear and then love,

Anger and then compassion.

I open myself up to a reverent acceptance of all aspects of life.

I pause and rest for curious inquiry and reflection.

I consciously journey to my center,

Creating a balance to hold this space for my healing.

I honor this opportunity to witness this sacred moment.

I witness.

I know that in this moment,

Things may feel dark and lonely.

I can become lost in this shadow moment of emptiness,

Sadness,

Grief,

Confusion.

I acknowledge and remember that this mindset is not permanent and I recognize that anything I do,

Think or say right now is coming from a clouded place.

Though I honor any and all feelings I am experiencing,

A part of me remembers that this too shall pass.

I ask myself for forgiveness and patience.

I am fully present in this moment,

Knowing that things will shift when I'm ready to find my way back to the light.

For now,

This is an inner wound that is trying to speak to me.

I know this darkness is here to serve me,

To bring my attention to something that is hurting and needs my own personal,

Loving attention.

If I saw a young child that had fallen on the playground,

My heart would want to help.

This dark that I'm experiencing is that inner child,

Calling to the love in my heart to turn its focus inward,

To send the love within,

To nurture my inner self.

I wrap my arms around this sacred place in me.

I hold a space of reverence simply for the beauty of being in this moment.

I witness.

You you you you I Am here in this place And I hold a pure and loving presence for myself.

I Know this is all an aspect of healing and growing.

I Know this dark place is part of the process the downward and deepening journey That takes me to where my inner wisdom is leading me There is a higher purpose for this shadowed and less traveled pathway And I step onto it with courage and trust This journey gives me strength when I surrender to its lesson In This darkness I shall not aim to soften it Shift it or ignore it Although it's uncomfortable right now I Fully embrace this moment I Witness I witness You You You I Surrender and allow divinity to guide me I Trust in this process this balance of life Flowing between the dark and the light I Ever gently hold myself in kindness Patience Compassion and forgiveness I Am the witness and I embrace this inner expansion that is in progress

This short meditation has everything I need to hear. Especially allowing to embrace my shadow self, holding space and letting the energy pass through with love. I have a feeling this will be my "go to". Thank you so much. 🙏💞
