Often when we meditate we focus on just one small part of our experience. This means that we aren't paying attention to much sensation, and consequently the mind gets bored and starts thinking. When we open up to the incredible richness of our experience the mind is more "nourished" and willing to stay with the practice.

So letting the eyes be soft,

Letting the eyes be full of kindness,

And beginning to arrive more fully in your immediate sensory experience.

All the sensations from the body,

Arising from all over the body,

Appreciating the phenomenal richness of it all.

Sensations coming from the front,

The sides,

The back,

From the deep core of the body out to the skin,

From the soles of the feet up to the crown of the head,

From the center of the body out to the periphery,

Right down into your feet,

Your fingers,

And just letting the mind rest,

So that you can appreciate this complexity.

Letting the mind rest on the soft waves of the breathing,

In the same way as the atmosphere rests on the ocean,

As waves rise and fall.

And just see if you can notice how when your attention turns towards the thoughts that arise in the mind,

Your experience becomes less rich,

Relatively impoverished.

And just compare the two experiences,

The relatively impoverished state of being caught up in thinking,

And the incredible richness of the body.

And just keep asking yourself,

Which do you really prefer?

Which seems most beneficial?

Checking in from time to time,

To make sure that the eyes are still soft and kind.

Letting them soften,

Letting them fill with kindness,

Letting your attention embrace the incredible richness of this moment.

And you can continue,

Allowing the mind to be at rest,

With the fullness of your experience.

And I'll ring a bell,

In a couple of minutes.

Felt so relaxed and in touch with my body every little intricate detail both mesmerising and peaceful and just so rich and enjoyable such a full experience it would be good to do before going bed.
