Hello and welcome to this quick guided meditation to help us slow down and get back to the present moment as we show gratitude to the universe and the people around us.
I am very grateful to have you join me today.
So let's get started either in a comfortable seated position or lying down on your bed as we close our eyes.
Take this time to just settle into this resting pose and just focus on your breath.
2020 hasn't been the easiest year of the COVID-19 pandemic,
Disrupting the causes of our lives.
In a time like this,
It is extremely easy to get caught up with our struggles and forget about the little blessings that we have around us like our family,
Friends,
And our breath.
Hence it is important to take the time to cultivate gratitude as we progress into the new year ahead so that we can enter feeling refreshed and energized.
Toss and enjoy the beauties of life.
From here,
See if you can start to notice the feeling of your natural breath.
Take a slow inhale as you notice the gentle rise of your chest.
As you exhale,
Notice that gentle fall of your chest.
Our breath is the most powerful and reliable thing in our body as it brings us back to the present moment all the time.
See if you can find that constant breathing pattern here and immerse yourself into the energy of life,
The energy that propels you forward,
Connecting you with every other being on this planet.
Observe whether is your mind wandering or is it present here right now.
I know that it is okay if thoughts start flooding in.
You don't have to fight it.
All you have to do is just to acknowledge them,
Let them pass and come back to your breath.
Now notice where are you holding tension in your body.
Can you allow your clenching muscles to let go?
Ask yourself how do you feel in this very moment?
Can you sense the peaceful energy of life flowing through you?
Your body is a vehicle and a gift.
It provides you with the privilege to experience this beautiful thing called life.
So let's take a short moment to think of three things we are grateful for in our life.
It can be something really small or something big as you sense the feeling of gratitude within you.
Once you thought of the three things you are grateful for,
Hold on to this blissful feeling.
It brings a nice big smile to your face.
Let's focus on this positive energy and send it outwards to the world around you.
As we step into a new day or a new year,
Always remember this nice warm feeling within you.
You know that you can always step into it whenever you feel overwhelmed or stressed by cultivating a habit of gratitude in your daily lives outside of this practice.
Now as we end this practice,
Take a deep breath in,
Breathing in love.
And as you breathe out,
Send out gratitude to the universe and slowly open your eyes.
And just thank yourself for being present.
Thank you for practicing with me and I hope you have a great day and a great year ahead.
Namaste.
