Welcome,

I'm Georgiana.

I'm grateful for you taking time out of your day to join me in this guided meditation in which we will reflect on how the shift from summer to autumn can help serve as inspiration and guide you through your pregnancy journey.

Let's start by finding a fully supported position that is comfortable for you.

If you're pregnant,

You may want to lie down on your left side with a pillow between your knees or you may want to sit down in a cross-legged position,

Perhaps sitting on a pillow so that your hips are higher than your knees and maybe with support under your knees if that's comfortable for you.

Whichever position you choose,

Make sure it allows you to feel fully supported so that you can relax all the tension from your body.

Now let's begin by gently closing our eyes and taking a relaxing and full deep breath.

Place your left hand over your heart and your right hand on your belly,

Again in a position that's relaxing for you.

Take a deep inhalation,

Feeling your chest expand and your shoulders and shoulder blades slightly pulling back to open up your heart center and with your mouth slightly open gently release your breath and whisper.

As you exhale,

Feel the tension leaving your body and space opening up in your front and back body.

Take another deep breath,

Expanding your chest with your shoulders pulling slightly back to open your heart center and release the breath whispering.

And as you do with every exhalation,

Feel the tension leave your body and space opening up.

Continue breathing deeply.

Shift your attention to any movement your baby might be making and if not you might imagine them moving around inside your body.

Send them a smile and love.

Now shift your attention to your beating heart and know that your body and heart know exactly what to do to grow your healthy baby and that you are doing that right now.

Now you can either continue with your hands on your heart and belly or gently place your hands in a position that's comfortable for you and continue breathing bringing in more nourishing oxygen for you and your baby with every inhalation.

As the seasons shift you can use the shifting energies of nature to help guide your own transitions in your life especially pregnancy.

The autumnal season is a time of transition of both endings and beginnings.

The equinox marks the time when the sun is directly at the equator and the length of daytime and nighttime are the same.

As autumn progresses nature undergoes its cyclical transitions as the earth tilts in relation to the sun and the days become shorter and the nights become longer.

Autumn comes and mother nature automatically changes accepting the ebbs and flows and cycles of nature.

Just as mother nature begins to transform in autumn changing the colors of leaves on trees and even beginning to shed them so too do we transform through pregnancy.

Just as this autumnal season is one of transition pregnancy is a time to transition into your new role as a mother.

A mother to the baby you are growing and nurturing but also a mother to yourself.

As you take your next inhalation feel your belly expand and imagine a golden light surrounding you and your baby relaxing you both.

This golden light is like a big loving hug protecting you and your baby.

Take a moment to let your baby know that you are their mother that you are here to protect them love them and nurture them and that you are preparing to bring them lovingly and peacefully into this world.

On your next inhalation move your focus to your heart.

You can begin your transition to motherhood by practicing self-love.

Take a moment and quietly remind yourself I deserve grace love and patience.

Once again I deserve grace love and patience.

To transition into your new role as a mother you might shed elements of your life for yourself that may not serve you well as you undergo this transformation.

Pregnancy is a time to make space for what is to come accepting the transition and making space for baby.

Continue focusing on your breath.

As you continue breathing direct your breath to any tight places in your body releasing any tense muscles as you exhale.

Any facial muscles that you may be holding tight or your jaw clenching.

Perhaps there's tension in your shoulders or back release that.

Perhaps you feel tightness in your abdomen or pelvis release it.

Maybe you're clenching your fist or holding your buttocks tight or maybe your legs have tension in them.

As you exhale release.

Just as animals use the autumn season to prepare for winter maybe storing food preparing their winter place of rest we too make space for baby in both physical and spiritual sense.

We change physically through our changing bodies.

We even change our homes to make space for baby.

With each deep breath and exhalation you are making more room for your baby.

We also make space for baby spiritually and relationally in our hearts and in our families and by accepting and taking on a new identity as mother.

Just like mother nature in autumn we can shed the things that no longer serve us in order to make space for those that will help us prepare for our pregnancy and birth journeys.

It is not uncommon for fear and worry about pregnancy or birth to pop up during this time.

Even as you are breathing perhaps a thought has come into your mind that's made you feel tense or uncomfortable.

That is natural.

Simply acknowledge the thought and then release it.

We can acknowledge feelings when they come but we don't have to follow them.

Release unwanted thoughts and feelings and make room for new feelings and thought patterns that will support you in your pregnancy journey and your birth.

Repeat quietly to yourself.

I release my fears and worries about pregnancy and birth.

They have no power over me.

Once again I release my fears and worries about pregnancy and birth.

They have no power over me.

Changing your unwanted thoughts and beliefs around pregnancy and birth takes time and practice.

The more we affirm thoughts and beliefs,

The stronger the neural pathway leading to the thought becomes which begins to solidify the belief.

So focus on the positive thoughts and beliefs that you want to bring into your pregnancy journey.

Taking a few final deep inhalations and exhalations,

Feel your body releasing all tension from those micro muscles in your face to the large muscles throughout your torso and legs and even down to your toes.

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes to bring your alertness back to the present moment.

Autumn is a perfect time to begin releasing negative or unwanted thought patterns or any other unwanted behaviors,

Feelings or elements of our lives and preparing to replace them with those that will support us in our transition to motherhood.

Gently blinking your eyes open,

Thank yourself for taking the time to come today to take care of yourself and love yourself so that you can take care of your baby.
