I-Ching Reading For April 2024 : The Lake

The Chinese book entitled the I-Ching translates literally into english as 'The book of changes'. It is a guidance to assisting one during times of change, great or small. When consulting with the I-Ching it is an interactive experience as your own intuition and knowingness is called upon. As I discuss the reading for the month of April 2024 I invite you to mindfully notice what sounds right for you, what makes sense right now and what resonates in your physical system. Once the reading is complete we will enter into a gentle meditation together focusing on the theme for this month.

Welcome to this I Ching reading for April 2024.

I'm Helen Hansen a kinesiologist and I use muscle testing to ascertain the relevant hexagram from the I Ching for the month.

The Chinese book of the I Ching translates literally into English as the Book of Changes and this book discusses the only constant in life,

Namely change.

So it is a guidance to assisting one during times of change,

Be they great or small.

The I Ching does not predict,

It doesn't prescribe,

It indicates a suitable course of action to take in a particular situation and as we are looking in this reading,

A particular time frame.

The I Ching was first introduced into the West in the early 18th century but it wasn't until a German missionary Richard Wilhelm translated it into English in the 1940s that awareness of the text spread worldwide and today it is one of the most frequently purchased books.

Personally I've been studying the Dada Ching since 2012,

I've been providing personal I Ching readings since 2020 and since 2022 readings of a collective theme such as this one.

As I discuss the reading for the month of April 2024,

I invite you to mindfully notice what sounds right for you,

What makes sense for you right now,

What resonates in your physical system.

So look out for responses physically,

It could be twitches,

It could be a sighing out,

It could be the nervous system relaxing down.

Sometimes however,

It's also aspects that make one feel uncomfortable that need to be heeded as well.

So trust your wisdom and your mind-body connection to indicate the signposts for you.

With my interpretation coupled with your own interpretation,

You get to create a divine link between the state of the subjective psyche and the external events that are impacting your life as well as the collective.

Let's dive right into the I Ching reading now for this month of April 2024.

If you are able to pause what you are doing for a few seconds,

Please do so,

So we can set our intention together.

You may want to close your eyes,

If you can't then simply feel yourself grounding down into your feet and feel your whole body.

Take a deep breath in,

Exhaling out all thoughts and emotions that have recently been present with you.

And let's do that once more,

Breathing in,

Exhaling,

Relaxing the body,

Relaxing the mind.

And now please repeat with me,

I trust 100% that the information I now receive both externally and intuitively is for my highest good.

Breathe in,

And let that go.

The hexagram for April 2024 from the I Ching book is number 58.

Starting from the bottom up,

We have two yang lines followed by a yin,

And then the sequence is repeated,

Two yang and another yin on top.

So this image is one of the lake,

The lake during the time of autumn.

So take a moment now to picture a clear lake,

It's calm and still.

You feel this calmness and stillness echoed in your body.

You easily see reflections in the lake because it's clear,

And there is a serene quality about the scene.

Nothing is forced,

There is no hard effort,

Everything is naturally composed,

Just as nature intended.

The atmosphere is of a yin quality,

Inviting the same for each of us.

In other words,

Inviting reflection,

Inviting contemplation,

Inviting that going inward motion.

The message here is simple for the time of April.

Find your inner calm,

Connect to stillness,

Be still.

In the stillness you will know your true nature.

In the stillness you will feel content and experience joy.

In the stillness your purpose is revealed.

This is a call to be present,

By being present with yourself on your own,

But also to keep your presence when in the company of others.

The potential shadow aspects to look out for,

In other words the warning of this message,

Is to be mindful of over-analyzing,

Because this causes stress,

And during this month of April over-analyzing can tend to be even more stressful than normal.

Avoid focusing on lack,

Instead choose to open your eyes to the bigger picture,

And for this short time let go of the pursuit of success.

You will naturally inspire success by simply being in the present moment.

In this month of April we are all being asked to connect with our inner lake,

Those still waters within,

Which reflect one's true nature and bring about an easy enjoyment of being,

Of being alive.

So look for the joy,

Find your joy,

Cultivate and maintain joyfulness,

Contentment and the joy of simply being.

On that note I now invite you to join me in a short meditation,

So you can connect with the water in your body.

Let's take a deep breath in,

And just sighing gently out,

Relaxing the body,

Relaxing the mind,

Closing the eyes if you still need to,

Just take your gaze inwards,

Allow yourself to sense your inner body.

Notice the different sensations that are taking place,

Wherever they might be,

With no judgment,

With no analyzing,

Pure awareness.

Then placing the attention on the breath,

Noticing how it's moving,

Without trying to change it,

Control it in any way,

Simply allowing it to be.

And now with intention,

Feel the water in your body,

Is it moving,

Is it still?

Now bring a visual of a calm lake into your mind's eye.

And bring that visual into your heart center.

Now take the visual into your belly,

And just allowing this calm lake to continue to rest in your belly,

In your heart,

In the center of your brain.

Place your attention again on the waters in your body,

Have they changed,

Are they moving differently?

Again,

No judgment,

Just noticing.

And now,

If you can repeat after me,

I mentally instruct the waters in my body to be calm,

To be still.

I now mentally instruct the waters in my body,

Be calm,

To be still.

And let's just be with that for a short while,

Allowing that stillness and calm to filter throughout our whole being.

Perhaps you might like to remain in this position for a few minutes.

Whenever you are ready to move out of a closed eye and physically still position,

Do so slowly and gently,

With the intention of maintaining that calm inner lake in those three areas of the body.
