The "Who am I?" Exercise is a simple, short and effective step to bring you back to awareness. Eventually, it can be used anytime to snap you back into present moment awareness. Insight is shared as to the types of responses people get when particularly when first using this. Use the questions a few times 'inside' to deepen the effect. It's helpful to repeat during the day and it's learned quickly so after a while you'll no longer need to use the track and can incorporate into your practice.

Good morning or good afternoon everybody or good evening wherever you are.

Philip Wade here from the Universal Studio in North Yorkshire and greetings to you whether you're watching live or on replay.

You know really when it comes to spiritual self-realisation,

Although I've been asked many questions over the years,

It really all comes down to this one question on the screen.

Who am I?

Who am I?

And it's the exploration of that question to its ultimate resolution that leads us to the point where the self is realised.

And there's actually a very simple little exercise that I'm going to share with you now that once you understand this you can use this regularly as a spiritual practice in itself.

So if you're ready to do that let's go.

So what I'm going to invite you to do now is just simply close your eyes just for a moment.

And as you close your eyes just asking inside this question who am I?

Who am I?

And just keeping your eyes closed for a moment with that.

And then opening your eyes and just reflecting for a moment on what emerged when you asked that question inside.

Now when I share that,

The responses that in groups,

The responses can vary with people from anything to their form,

Whether they're a female or a male or their role or you know whether they're a father or a mother,

Their job or they can people start to open to something a little bit deeper.

They might get words like love or something like that.

And it can be quite a span when that question's asked.

Some can start to really open to something a bit further.

So then we take the exercise a little bit further.

And so we close our eyes again.

And this time when you close your eyes just asking inside this question who am I without memory?

Who am I without memory?

And just being with that for a few moments.

Who am I without memory?

And when you're ready,

You can open your eyes again.

Now this time when I asked the question,

The responses vary quite significantly often from the first attempt.

And people start to move to words like void or love or peace or nothing or no thing.

Because what we've done here is started is removed the ability for the mind to go to energetic memory and started to open to awareness and started to recognize or step beyond the thinking mind.

This is a very simple and very powerful little exercise.

And this question really is the only and ultimate question in spiritual self realization.

And every question I've ever been asked really about it ultimately comes back to the perspective you're taking in life.

Most often the most frequent perspective by far the majority of people are taking by far the majority of time is the small I as personhood.

But when we come out of this in this way in this exercise and start to take away the association with the body mind experience through the asking the second one without memory,

We start to open to something deeper.

And I like to express it this way.

Who am I?

The question dissolves the questioner and the self is realized.

And the reason it's expressed that way dissolving the questioner is that the question is only the ego mind and the self is non personal awareness or infinite silence.

So who I the question dissolves the question and the self is realized is realized to be infinite awareness or infinite silence.

And one is already this and has never not been this.

So if you're looking to step out of thinking step out of mind at any point at any time during the day,

You can use this simple little meditative question and exercise,

Particularly the second one.

Who am I without memory?

So I'll leave it at that for today.

Philip Wade from the Universal Studio in North Yorkshire.

Anyway,

I hope you have a blessed day wherever you are.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Namaste.

Just before I was going to ask the 1st question 'Who am I?' I started coughing & I had to stop the audio for a moment πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ€” on the 2nd 'Who am I with out the memory?' & the answer was 'I don't know' & I'm still hearing the same answer when I think πŸ€” about it. I will explore it again πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ. Thank you so much πŸ™βœ¨βœ¨πŸ™
