I am slowing down and settling in this moment.
Maybe just taking a little rest,
A little pause.
Maybe you'd like to just pause for a moment and rest with me.
We'll be here for a few moments together.
And there's really nothing that you need to do or be.
Maybe it might be interesting to find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Maybe you'd like to cozy back up in bed or hide in the quiet of a closet.
Maybe we can just take a moment to remember that we exist here in these fleshy,
Squishy human bodies.
And I pause and I say hello to my physical body,
Like maybe with rubbing my legs,
My belly or saying hello to my arms.
Maybe I might like to wiggle a little bit.
I take a moment to do that.
I say hello to any sensations or emotions,
Especially welcoming any tiredness or fatigue.
Just for now,
Nothing needs to change.
Nothing needs to be different.
And maybe there's a way that I can make myself just a little bit more comfortable to be in this moment of rest.
And I take some time to notice the space around me and the surface that I'm on.
And I invite my body to say hello to the surface and to notice the support of this room,
Of my seat,
Of the earth,
This earth that we're both sharing,
This earth that we are.
I take some time to really root into the earth.
And I let my attention come up through the central core of my living body and branch up into this same sky that holds us both.
And I let myself take plenty of time here,
Noticing how I stretch deep into the earth and up into the sky.
And I really take some time with the back of my body,
Noticing my spine here resting on my tailbone,
Rising up,
Supporting the back of my head,
Supporting the back of my skull,
Supporting my head.
And I take some time to really notice and say hello and acknowledge the ancestors that stand behind me.
And all the space,
The space in time,
The space in the room,
The space through generations.
And I just let myself rest here at the edge of this moment,
Recognizing that I am a continuation of the humans that have come before me,
That I'm carrying forward life into this day.
And I take some time to notice myself to the left of me and the right of me and really pause and invite my body to kind of fill itself out in all directions.
And especially out to my peers,
All of the incredible humans that stand beside me,
The friends,
Chosen family,
The people around me.
And I say hello to the front of my body,
This very social,
Vulnerable part,
Soft belly,
This tender heart,
Chest,
My throat,
My face.
And I pause to notice you there with me through space and time to notice how I'm supported in this way.
And to invite my body to receive this support of you there,
Of you there through space and time.
I take a full breath and feel my body release along.
Exhale.
That felt nice.
I'm going to try a little bit of that again,
A full breath and just a long,
Gentle exhale.
Focusing on the length of the exhale and the depth of the breath,
Or rather the richness.
One more time,
Just breathing in a full,
Rich breath and gently extending the exhale.
Perhaps just inviting the possibility.
We pause for just a few moments and just inviting the body as a whole.
Here in connection with the earth,
My sensations and the physical body,
My emotions and feelings and the room around me and the day outside.
And you there with me.
And I invite my body to find its natural completion here.
Staying and resting as long as it would like.
Integrating this time that we've had together.
I thank you for your practice.
I thank you for your presence.
And I invite you to rest here.
And I invite you to rest here as long as you would like.
And I invite you to rest here as long as you would like.
