Transcript

Welcome to a five-minute session of mindfulness of breathing.

Please find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.

As we begin,

May you know on a deeper level that making time to practice is an incredible gift to yourself.

No one can give you this gift.

So just acknowledging your effort and taking care of yourself.

Now,

Bringing your awareness to your breath wherever you feel it most prominently in your body.

Common places to focus and feel this natural biorhythm in your body are either at the belly or nose.

But it may be somewhere else.

So just noticing where you feel the breath in your body.

As you breathe in normally and naturally,

Be aware of breathing in.

And as you breathe out,

Be aware of breathing out.

Simply maintaining this awareness of the breath.

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Moment by moment.

There is no need to visualize,

Count,

Or figure out the breath.

Just be mindful of breathing in and out.

Without judgment,

Just watch and feel the breath ebb and flow like waves of the sea.

And remembering there's no place to go and nothing else to do.

Just being in the here and now,

Noticing the breath.

Just living life,

One inhalation and one exhalation at a time.

From time to time,

Attention may wander from the breath.

When you notice this,

Simply acknowledge where you went and then gently bring your attention back to the breath.

Breathing normally and naturally without manipulating the breath in any way.

Just be aware of the breath as it comes and goes.

In a few moments,

The bell will ring.

And as we come to the end of this practice,

Please know that on a deeper level,

What this is all about is helping you to be proactive in managing your own health and well-being.

May you be at peace,

And may all beings be well.

Thank you.
