As the title says, this meditation is made to be listened to outdoors, after a yoga practice would be the perfect occasion. But it can be done any time of day, morning, noon, or night. Because we are tapping into our sense of hearing, I recommend using a loudspeaker, or with only one earpiece. I begin by helping you connect with your senses giving you ideas to see, feel, smell, hear and taste. Then you can enjoy several minutes of silence for yourself to tune into your own present awareness.

This meditation is ideally done outside,

Sitting down,

Somewhere where you feel comfortable and not too many distractions.

So where you are,

Find a comfortable position and start to notice what you can see straight in front of you and then turn to the left and what do you see?

Different heights of things,

Shape,

Colours and look to your right,

Same thing,

Any different heights of items or beings,

Shapes and sizes.

Is there any movement happening anywhere around you?

How many things can you notice that are moving around,

Whether it be a bird,

People,

Vehicles?

Now closing off your eyes,

Tune into what you can hear and if you do happen to have earplugs in or earphones maybe just take one out.

What can you hear surrounding you?

Is there anything in nature like birds or the breeze,

Any water or ticking clocks?

Take a moment to notice what you can hear nearby,

Let yourself drift into what you can hear further away,

At a distance.

You're welcome to keep your eyes closed here.

Moving on to our next sense of touch.

Without moving,

What can you feel beneath you?

Is it hard or soft,

Textural?

What parts of your body are touching something beneath you?

What skin is exposed or covered?

What else can you sense through touch right now?

Connecting to your taste now,

Is there anything lingering in your mouth?

What was the last thing you ate or drank?

What are you yearning to eat or drink next if you're feeling hungry or thirsty?

Notice whether it's sweet or savoury or other,

Is there a certain texture you're craving or a temperature of hot,

Cold or warm?

Maybe there's nothing at all and now notice what you can smell.

Take a big breath in if you haven't already and let it go however you please.

Maybe take a few long breaths,

Is there anything lingering in the air?

Is it fresh,

Dry,

Humid?

Maybe you can smell something nearby or again something in the distance,

Whether it be cooking,

Maybe some fumes if you're in an area with high traffic,

High pollution of some kind and if you're somewhere regional maybe you can smell the trees or flowers or even just imagine that's where you are,

If that's where you wish to be in your mind.

All of these senses bring us in this present moment without any other thoughts coming to mind and if other thoughts do rise that's okay but for now I'd like you to continue to go through each of those senses.

You can spend a short or long amount of time on each sense and if you wish to keep your eyes closed just open your third eye.

What would you like to see or what can you picture if you're wanting to stay in this realistic world?

Otherwise let your third eye wander,

Let it get creative if it wants to.

Enjoying the next several minutes.

I hope you feel wonderful and blissful.

Enjoy the rest of this day or night.

Namaste.
