Welcome to this guided meditation for cultivating self-love.

This is a short but really powerful practice for connecting to the love that is always inside you and as you begin to embody and express that yourself not only are you rewiring your brain in positive ways but you're also able to express and fully love others.

So to begin today I invite you to find a comfortable position either sitting or lying down and just allowing yourself to get really comfortable.

You could be on a chair,

On the floor or on a meditation cushion or lying in your bed.

And when you're comfortable I invite you to take a few slightly deeper breaths.

Just breathing fully in and fully out.

Breathing fully in and fully out and you could even take a hand and place it on your lower belly and as you breathe in really focusing on breathing right down into your belly.

Breathing into the whole body and breathing out.

Letting go of any tension in the body,

Letting go of the neck,

The shoulders,

The jaw or anywhere else you notice you might be holding some tension.

And again just for this moment leaving aside the stress and tension in the body but also leaving aside the mind,

Thoughts,

Leaving aside all cares and worries just for these few moments knowing that you can always pick them back up again when you've finished.

But just for this time right now enjoying having nothing to think or worry about.

And so now I want you to bring to mind somebody,

Someone,

Something that you really love and that could be a parent,

A partner,

A friend,

A child,

A cat or a dog or another animal or anything else in your life that brings you that real feeling of love.

I want you to bring them to mind and with that in mind allow that feeling of love to grow in your body.

Letting yourself really feel and let that feeling of love grow in your body.

Feel it in your whole body.

And if you want you could even take a hand and put it on your heart and as you do so maybe imagine touching yourself with that same love that you would give to someone else that you really love.

So resting your hand on yourself and sending yourself that same love and that same care,

Compassion,

Connection that you would give to somebody else.

And so often we forget that we have this ability.

We have it so powerfully for others but often we don't give it to ourselves and so really taking this time now continuing to allow that feeling of love to grow inside yourself.

And feel that you are completely cared for and completely supported and completely held in this moment.

Feeling that sense of love and also freedom that comes with it because you have everything that you need and you're not reliant on somebody else or something else,

Something else to happen to allow you to feel that love that is right here.

And then as you let that feeling grow you're teaching your body that you have access to this always.

You're teaching your body what this feels like to be loved,

To feel loved and enjoy that feeling.

And maybe taking a few slightly deeper breaths,

Again breathing into the whole body and continuing to allow that feeling to grow.

And taking this moment to really treat and care for yourself like somebody else that you would really care about.

Giving yourself that time,

That space to relax and slow down.

To feel good and support yourself so that you can feel amazing and then if it works out right you can support others as well.

And so thank you for practicing with me today,

This is just a nice short little meditation to help you connect in to that love that you already have,

That you are able to give yourself and enjoy yourself.

And finishing with some gratitude and gratitude is such a powerful emotion and I often say it is like the most powerful emotion because it is the emotion of transformation.

Like whatever we're feeling in our lives,

Gratitude allows us to transform it from oh no why is this happening to me to even if I don't know what's happening,

Thank you.

Thank you and so you could even say this to yourself now,

Thank you.

Thank you,

Thank you to myself for taking this time for myself to support myself to feel good.

Thank you,

Wow thank you for this breath,

The deep breath,

Wow that feels so good.

Thank you for my body,

My healthy body,

That I'm able to hear this properly and that I'm able to sit or lie here,

That my body is healthy.

And maybe thank you for the loved ones in my life,

Those people,

Those animals,

Those things whatever it is that bring me that feeling of love,

That beautiful feeling of love and connection and when I look after myself I'm able to be fully present and fully embody that when I'm by myself and when I'm with others.

Thank you,

Thank you and maybe continuing to say thank you and just noticing whatever comes up for you now,

Whatever it is,

Thank you,

Thank you,

Letting that feeling of gratitude grow,

Thank you.

And finally taking one last deep breath in,

Breathing all the way to the top.

And exhale letting go and as you let go slowly opening back up your eyes into the room or whatever space you're in.
