Have you been anxiously overthinking your way out of a problem,
Over-strategizing,
Getting in your own way,
Or ignoring your inner voice?
It's time to harness ancient Egyptian goddess energy towards empowered everyday living.
Learn to fine-tune your inner wisdom and turn up the volume on deeper layers of your being.
If you feel the call to rebirth,
Rewild,
Retreat,
Rest,
This goddess invocation will tap goddess powers latent within you as we call in Tefnut in her aspect of Gazelle.
It's time to let go of any and all contracts,
Agreements,
Energies,
Situations that shrink your power.
Tefnut in her form of Gazelle asks us to release anything we no longer need and step with grace towards new beginnings.
This golden opportunity to return to your soul purpose,
To see clearly and connect back to your innermost heart will deepen your relationship with symbolic language,
The language of the soul.
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down,
Where you will not be distracted.
Find a soft gaze on a fixed point,
A candle flame,
Or softly close the eyes.
I invoke Tefnut to transmit her message to you.
Say out loud or inwardly,
I hear and respond to the messages which Tefnut holds for me.
In Egyptian culture,
The Gazelle is linked to the dry,
Remote desert mountains as the setting for death and rebirth.
The Gazelle,
Associated with swiftness,
Gentleness,
And inner vision,
Shows us that Tefnut as Gazelle is Tefnut as pure soul energy.
In the myth,
Tefnut is the goddess of the soul.
As Gazelle,
Tefnut is pure soul energy.
In the myth,
We witness Tefnut as she moves from her vulture form to her Gazelle form.
In this,
Her final animal manifestation,
She points us towards the necessary retreat,
Withdrawal,
And quiet that we seek.
She invites us to connect back to our own heart,
Our true home.
Gazelles are linked with the element of air.
Build an awareness of the air that surrounds you now,
The air that you breathe.
Take time to empty the lungs.
Take a slow,
Deep,
Full breath through the nose.
Inhale,
Inhale.
Exhale,
Extend this release.
Wait for the next inhalation to come to you.
When you're ready,
Take the breath into all parts of the lungs.
Fill the canister of the torso all the way to the top of the head.
Expand the ribs.
Hold.
Sip in a little more air.
Stay in this receptive,
Expansive state.
When you're ready,
Slowly,
Slowly release the breath through the nose.
Empty completely.
Wait for the next in-breath to arrive in its own time,
And take one more full,
Complete inhalation and exhalation.
Come back to the natural breath.
Witness where the breath lands in the body.
If you are seated,
Remain upright and allow there to be length through the back of the neck.
Witness the breath come and go in its own time.
Tefnut may choose to call to you now across time and space.
Notice with your mind's eye if there is a place near to you where she can sit and hold space with you for the duration of this meditation.
Welcome her wise and healing energy to touch your energy field.
Invite a steady pulse of energy to flow between you.
Trust your inner wisdom.
Listen well.
Listen with your whole body.
Take time to return yourself to your own heart now.
Draw your attention to your heart space,
The middle of the chest at heart height,
And let the focus rest here.
Draw the thinking mind from the head down into the heart mind.
Over the next few rounds of breath,
Allow there to be a stepping down into a place where you can feel safe,
Held,
Warm.
Where you know that you have all you need to resource yourself,
Where you can rest well for as long as you wish.
This place might be a cosy dwelling or somewhere in nature.
It may be a representation of a place,
A quiet place,
A peaceful place.
Find deep stillness as the waters within settle.
So begins an inquiry.
What have you been resisting,
Pushing against,
Or running from?
What old patterns are pulling you towards them?
Call back your power with the help of Tefnut.
What do you need less of?
What can you make more space for?
What nourishes you?
How do you want to feel?
Build this into a phrase,
Condense this into one word that encapsulates this feeling,
This intention.
Feel the resonance of this phrase or word in your heart space.
And with each inhale,
Allow this energy to grow.
Allow the wisdom of your own heart to whisper its message to you.
Observe the breath entering the body through the heart space now.
Witness your breath with your full attention.
Inhale,
Allow the breath to untangle any remaining tension held in the heart.
Exhale,
Bathe in the heart's radiant energy field.
Trust the ebb and flow of your own heart.
Send its power to every corner of the body.
With each inhale,
Turn up the brightness on this feeling.
Allow it to breathe the heart open.
With each inhale,
Let each exhale send this vibrant heart energy to every cell in your body,
From fingertips to toes.
Keep building,
Expanding this feeling.
Generate the power from your heart space.
Invite it to flow through your whole being with each and every breath.
Tefnut Asgazal reminds us that by employing the heart in the act of letting go,
We infuse our lives with love.
We dwell on the road towards wholeness.
We deeply bless our lives and give ourselves full permission to create,
Free of the heart's constraints or injuries.
Observe any undulations of energy as they shift within your body now.
Stay curious.
Be kind towards yourself.
You are growing.
You are transmuting the past into new beginnings.
Stay with any pulsating energies which lie beneath action and doing.
Surrender anything that wants to hold on that could be released now.
Soften your face,
Your palms.
Let go of anything which masks the natural,
Soft aliveness beneath muscle and bone.
Give way to tender awareness.
Receive this moment in its fullness.
Dear one,
You have arrived home at last.
In her myth,
Tefnut transforms from Gazelle into her full sovereignty,
Her goddess state.
She arrives home to Egypt from a faraway land,
Having journeyed through several animal and bird forms along the way.
Tefnut invites you now to release what has passed and find your fullest potential,
The most expansive expression of your true self.
Invite Tefnut to sit with you whenever you need to release the old self.
You can ask her to support you in living inside the present moment from the perspective of the heart.
You hold the potency you need to create the life you desire.
Tefnut will show you the way,
The way to abundance,
The road back to your own heart,
To wholeness.
Affirm inwardly or say out loud,
I hold a clear vision of my heart's message.
I know my way home.
I am whole.
Stay and breathe.
Enjoy your homecoming.
It's time to thank Tefnut for her presence.
Come to notice the contact the body makes on the surface which supports you.
Start to extend the exhalation,
Making way for a deeper,
Fuller inhalation.
Witness your breath once again as it arrives and leaves in its own time.
Practice this meditation for the next 21 days and watch the grace of Tefnut as Gazelle grow within you.
You may at the end of this time have formulated a question for Tefnut.
She may have a question for you.
I invite you to journal about your time with Tefnut as Gazelle or any of the manifestations in this series.
When you're ready,
Begin to open your eyes.
Notice your surroundings.
Take one more deep inhale through the nose and exhale slowly.
Release the past.
Inhale.
Take in this new moment of now.
Travel well,
Dear one,
And I'll see you next time.
