Welcome.

This practice is designed to allow you to find greater ease.

The kind of ease that is a very natural and authentic state of relaxed presence that can only be found from within yourself.

It's a profound feeling of comfort and calm that allows you to be more productive,

Less reactive and more alive.

It's not something that can be manufactured or imposed upon you.

Rather,

It's access from within and brought to the foreground of your experience.

So allow these words in this time to point the way to uncovering and establishing a state of sustained ease and relaxed presence within yourself.

Begin by getting comfortable and close your eyes.

Bring your focus in and take a few moments to arrive here.

Now turn your attention toward your breath.

Feel the natural rising and falling of inhale and exhale.

This is the rhythm of life moving through you.

A natural rhythm that rises and uplifts through your inhale and falls and settles through your exhale.

A simple yet powerful rhythm that lifts you up and drops you down into the present moment.

Let your breath be soft and gentle,

Generous and sweet,

Allowing this simple act of breathing to be an offering,

An offering to yourself,

To your well-being,

An offering of your time and attention to create the inner conditions that will support your outer experience.

Notice the way the rhythm moves through you,

How the breath comes in,

How it flows back out.

Notice the expansive quality of your inhale as it fills in and lifts up.

Notice the contracting nature of your exhale as it empties out and settles down.

Notice the quality and texture of your breath,

The depth and pace of the rhythm.

And you're just noticing,

Not trying to shape or control your breath,

Just observing,

Observing and offering your attention,

Breathing and following the rhythm.

With every round of your breath,

Softening and allowing,

Observing and offering.

Now let your attention fall on your exhale.

Feel the natural release and letting go of your out-breath.

Every time you breathe out,

Feel how easily your body lets go of the breath.

Feel how naturally your body softens,

As if signaling a sigh of relief,

Relief that you can let go,

That you can release in this brief moment of every out-breath.

Letting go and releasing.

Exhaling and softening.

Letting go and releasing.

Now shift your focus to your in-breath.

Feel the inherent receiving and taking in of each inhale.

Every time you breathe in,

Feel how readily your body accepts the breath.

Feel how naturally your body opens to receive,

As if gesturing a sense of welcoming,

Welcoming an old friend back in,

Receiving openness in every in-breath.

Welcoming and receiving.

Inhaling and opening.

Inhaling and receiving.

Take a few moments to rest in this realm of the rhythm of your breath and allow your body to respond.

And by unraveling the tangled knots of everyday subsistence,

To welcome you deeper in.

Now let your breath open your awareness deeper into the interior of your body.

And arrive here as if entering sacred space.

Arriving with a calm and caring tenderness that invites even more space to open and clear.

Without force,

Without effort,

Without expectation.

Arriving and allowing.

Allowing stress and strain to effortlessly subside.

Feeling a clearing in the density of your embodied existence.

Feel how freely your body lets go of tension.

Feel how easily your body releases.

And again,

You're not trying to make anything happen.

You're just allowing.

You're noticing the feeling and allowing space to open naturally.

Noticing and feeling.

Allowing and opening.

Feel ease begin to arise and make itself known.

Feel how effortlessly your body opens to receive this soft presence.

And as you settle more profoundly into your body,

Release down beneath the surface.

Slipping underneath the rhythm of your breath.

Your breath will continue to support and sustain you as you drop deeper in.

Allow yourself to drop underneath the movement of your breath.

Shifting towards stillness and quiet.

Feel yourself rest into this space.

Your arrival here sending signals of safety,

Comfort,

Security and peace throughout your system.

Feel yourself aware of this feeling of relaxed presence as you lean deeper into the comfort of quiet.

Resting here in ease.

Let yourself be.

Resting and being.

Intuitively sensing a soft presence within.

Resting and being.

Try slowly and gently begin to bring your awareness back out and welcome your breath back in.

Keeping your eyes closed.

Pause here to look out across the open terrain of your body and mind.

And immerse yourself in the felt sense of calm in your body and the quiet and uncluttered clarity in your mind.

Notice how you feel.

The sensation may be subtle yet tangible in the way it emanates through you.

It may feel spacious yet grounded as it spreads through your body.

And it may be serene yet vivid in how it opens up into the expanse of your mind.

Establish yourself more securely in this state of being.

It's simple yet profound.

It's open yet focused.

And it's here now within you.

Now begin to open your eyes slowly.

And gaze out with this soft and gentle presence.

Feel ease from within yourself.

A relaxed and alive state that will support you through your day.

May you be calm.

May you be at peace.

May you be clear.

May you be at ease.
