Heal The Inner Child
This is a deeply relaxing somatic embodiment meditation. It's an invitation to heal the inner child. Gently allow your awareness to flow through your inner space, creating a sense of safety, deeper sensation, and aliveness.

Hi and welcome to the meditation for the water element.
You might want to lie down for this meditation or you might want to begin in a seated position and have a place where you can lie down if you feel like it later.
Start to take a few breaths with the intention to arrive in to the sensation of the body.
Begin to deepen your breaths and feel the breath move your awareness kind of like liquid through the inner space of the body.
So you're contacting the sensation inside the body everywhere.
You can go slow like a very slow steadily moving stream or you can kind of waterfall the awareness more quickly through the inner space.
Just inviting the breath to allow you entrance into sensation all throughout the body.
As you continue to allow the breath to awaken your embodied awareness,
You can reassure yourself that there is no way to do this meditation wrong.
You can give yourself permission to rest no matter what you have on your to-do list or what is coming next.
You fully deserve to rest and anything that will come after this meditation will be improved by your letting it go for now.
Everything can be solved by letting things go,
Resting,
And entering the body's knowing.
It may not feel safe to feel but you can take a deep inhale and as you exhale reassure yourself that it is safe to feel and keep breathing that affirmation silently through the body a few times.
It is safe to feel.
Maybe you can begin to notice some places in the body where it doesn't feel like the energy of the breath can flow as easily.
There are places that we store our emotions that get frozen because energy has had to kind of fold in on itself in a state of protectiveness and now it is safe to allow the breath to move like water through some of those places just lightly touching them with sensation,
With loving awareness.
It is safe to feel and you are allowed to and encouraged to rest.
Just lightly rest your attention on some of these places that you are allowing the breath to flow,
The energy to begin to feel as if it can unwind slightly.
Just notice any shifts as you just simply breathe and give yourself the permission to rest knowing that it's safe to feel.
When you are feeling it doesn't mean that it has to feel good or that you have to be relaxed.
Part of trusting the body's wisdom is allowing it to feel and be however it is.
It's okay.
However it is,
Is okay.
What shifts can happen when you allow things to be as they are and just bring loving attention to them?
It's okay to be how you are.
What happens when you say that to a part of the body that doesn't feel relaxed,
That might not feel good in this moment?
It's okay to be how you are.
What would it have felt like to hear that more when you were a child?
And what's good is that there is a young part of you that can still hear and receive that.
And you feel that part of you and just say to it,
It is safe now and it's okay to be how you are.
Notice if there's any movement that the body might want to make.
And this can be so slow,
So tiny even.
Maybe a little rocking of the pelvis or very slow opening and closing of the jaw.
Any kind of movement,
No matter how minuscule is allowed.
And the body knows how to move like water because your healing energy runs through you like water.
The breath propels it along in this flow.
Maybe as the pelvis moves or that neck little bit moves,
You can really dive into that sensation like,
Oh,
It feels so good to move my pelvis.
It feels so good to breathe underneath my shoulders as they rock a little bit.
Or wherever you're moving,
Can you deepen into the pleasure of this body?
No matter how much in the past maybe things had to get shut down because environments didn't feel welcoming or nurturing for this sort of innocent sensuality of movement and experience.
That you can have it now.
And now we move on to another affirmation.
It is safe to let my energy flow.
It is safe to let it flow.
Staying connected to the breath.
Maybe there's still tiny movements that are taking you deeper into sensation and into the subtle currents of the way that the energy wants to move to free itself in the body.
Maybe there's a sense of,
Ah,
Rest and stillness.
Returning to that concept that you cannot do this wrong.
Your body knows what to do and you can trust your body.
It is safe to let your energy flow.
It's the safest to let your energy flow and to feel connected to the wisdom of your body.
Even though it might take some discomfort to get there.
Some sensations of trauma response might be present as you move through these layers.
It's almost like there are places that are ice,
Frozen.
And your breath and and your breath and awareness and allowing,
Allow some melting,
Some flow.
And wow,
Then how much access do you have to your own power,
Which is really in this dropping down into the vulnerability of the child again,
Over and over.
This innocent sensuality of movement and is there a different feeling tone in your body that you can name?
What does this innocent childlike part of you want to remind you about?
That's the truest signature of your energy.
This sense of wonder,
Play,
Expansion,
Ah,
Rest and truth.
What does a child do if it doesn't feel good?
It doesn't feel good.
Doesn't feel good.
It doesn't try to fix that or ignore it in any way as we all know.
Children allow.
You don't have to feel good.
But if you are accessing a sense of feeling good,
It is safe to lean into it and kind of ride that wave of Shakti.
Ride it into the next moment,
The next breath,
Staying with the body,
Noticing any impulse toward movement or stillness and honoring each impulse can be repetitive.
It can be different.
No movement.
Just redirecting the attention from external distraction to tending what's arising somatically for you is such an act of care.
You imagine your body and your sensations and your emotions as a child that deserves all the love and care and trust and encouragement.
They're in a world that often doesn't feel affirming or gentle.
But here is the opportunity to turn inward over and over again to create an environment within that is gentle,
That is full of trust,
Wonder,
Awe,
And acceptance for all the different parts that don't need to be pushed away or explained away or shamed.
They're all a part of it.
They're part of it.
They're all valid.
They all have wisdom and messages.
Can you allow them to be part of it for you?
Starting from the top of the head,
Feel a flow of energy like water moving downward,
Washing away any sense of needing it to be different than it is.
Keep letting the flow move downward through the jaw,
Washing out any need to control this moment that might be ready to move out,
Let go.
And then down the throat,
Washing away any resistance or fear of truth,
Either seeing things clearly or expressing things as you see them,
Which is a gift for the world and what you came here for.
And then washing down over the shoulders and the chest and back of the heart,
Washing out any sense of not feeling good enough,
Not knowing what to do because you are more than you are more than enough and you are guided.
You can trust.
Washing down through the arms,
All the space of the arms and hands and fingers.
You are capable of creating and bringing action forth from your heart.
Washing down through the rib cage and the lungs.
It is safe to grieve what you see in the world that doesn't seem right,
What you've lost.
It is safe to let your emotions flow.
And then down through the solar plexus,
The belly,
The middle of the back,
Flowing down,
Washing out any sense that you are not powerful.
So you are powerful as this flow moves.
This flow moves down through the torso,
Washing out any sense of incapacity.
And then down to the hips and pelvis.
And maybe there's a little bit of rocking there to feel your life force,
Your own place of pleasure and creativity play.
That is your place.
What does it feel like for you?
Down to the pelvic floor and the genitals,
A sense of belonging as you feel that part of the body connected to the earth support.
And then down through the legs and knees,
The lower legs,
The lower legs,
Heels,
Tops of the feet,
Toes,
Soles of the feet,
Washing out any sense of disconnection so that you are connected.
You can feel the strength of that.
And then this flow that is moving in through the crown of the head now,
Through the whole body is connected through roots down deep into the earth,
Just washing out any sense of not enough or unworthiness and replacing it with the light of your own energy,
Moving,
Moving you,
Moving out mental patterns so that you can feel your energy,
Trust embodied sensation,
And come back here with gentleness over and over again in times of trigger or disconnection.
It's moving back into and through your own flow that connects you just like a river moving into the ocean with this great flow,
Great divine soul field flow.
So as you drop into this ocean,
Knowing that you are connected infinitely with the divine,
With your purpose here,
Interconnected with all beings,
Every kind of being on this earth,
And this breathing into a sense of may all beings prosper just like me.
Every day I'm moving closer and closer to connection with my source and with the source of all things.
Every day,
Whether I feel it or not,
Deep inhale and exhale through the mouth.
Two more breaths like that just to soften even more into this flow,
Into this field.
So remembering it is safe to feel my body.
It is safe to run my energy.
And this innocent sensuality of the child takes pleasure in the way the energy flows in the body,
Moving out into your day or night,
Remembering this feeling and coming back to it,
Integrating it as you can more and more.
Namaste.
