This meditation focuses on connecting to the earth and sensing internal stability and abundance. Taurus rules the lower jaw, throat, neck and shoulders and is the guardian of the 5th chakra, a place of discernment surrounding choices we make to swallow/consume as well as to speak/make an impact. In this meditation, I bring awareness into the potential of this space as a point for stability and intentionality.

Hello and welcome.

The following is a guided meditation by René Sills,

A somatic movement educator,

Energy worker and astrologer.

This meditation is intended to help support your embodied meditation practice.

If in the recording you are prompted to do something that doesn't feel good for your body,

Please adapt and modify to make it work for you.

Please also note that the content of this meditation sometimes explores deep and subtle states and memories and sometimes guided visualizations.

You are encouraged to work with discernment as you practice with them.

If any of the guidance René offers feels too activating or uncomfortable,

Please listen to your body's knowing and pause the recording until a later time if you wish to return to it.

These guided meditations range anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes and do not require any supplementary equipment to participate.

We hope you enjoy.

Wherever you are in space,

Pause for a moment and close your eyes and take a deep breath and let the front wall of your belly,

Your abdomen,

Soften,

Relax and expand.

And as you exhale,

Relax your jaw and your mouth and just let your breath out.

So take a couple more breaths like that and as you inhale,

Relax your belly and as you exhale,

Relax your jaw.

Now chances are good that if you are able to listen to this meditation that you are safe.

So as you inhale,

Can you relax your belly and say to yourself,

I am safe.

And as you exhale,

Can you relax your jaw and say to yourself,

I have what I need.

So as you inhale,

I am safe and as you exhale,

I have what I need.

And keep repeating this to yourself and just notice what the effect is in your body of those words.

So regardless of any other thoughts that are coming up in association,

As you say those words in your body,

Notice what you feel.

And what I am going to invite you to do is to notice the places that resist those words.

Notice the places that come up in argument to them.

And see if you can bring your attention around those spaces and I'm going to guess that for most of us there is actually a physical place where you feel that kind of fear or resistance come up.

It might be somewhere really random,

You know like your knee or it could be something organ related but wherever it is,

Go there with your attention.

And I'm going to invite you to imagine your attention,

Your awareness as a really loving presence.

And so you might think of this presence as the archetypal kind of mother,

Like a nurturing,

Warm,

Loving,

Compassionate space.

And see if you can just surround the space in your imagination and in your awareness.

And that's it.

Okay so you don't need to do anything else except just be there.

Be with the sensation and then continue just to inhale,

Relaxing your belly.

I am safe.

And exhale,

Relaxing your jaw.

I have what I need.

And as you're there with that space,

Wherever it is,

Space is,

And as you're repeating this mantra and as you're breathing and relaxing your belly and your jaw,

Allow your mind to get really spacious and really soft and don't try and grasp anything or get anything.

And notice if the space that you're attending to has something that it wants to say.

And in having something that it wants to say,

It could be an image,

It could be a color,

It could be words,

It could be a very distinct sentiment.

But wherever you're attending to this resistance of these mantras,

What is it that's the message there?

What's the core belief or the fear?

And as you listen for what this is,

Just continue to soften your belly,

Continue to soften your jaw,

Continue to practice these mantras and these mantras,

You know,

The affirmations function probably in many ways like a question.

So when we say to ourselves,

I am safe,

Or have what I need,

And then some part of us comes up in resistance,

And that part of us that's saying I'm not safe,

I'm fearful,

I feel scared,

I feel unstable.

That place is a place that deserves and needs attending to.

And the part of us that comes up and says I don't have what I need,

That space is a voice that needs to be heard.

And there's a good chance that whatever is coming up,

You know,

These fears and beliefs have a really good reason to be there.

And so we don't want to judge them if they're coming up.

And there's also a really good chance that kind of wrapped up and packed into those ideas is a lot of shame,

And a lot of kind of pushing down or ignoring that we've been doing.

And we might call that shadow.

So whenever we push down or ignore,

Or when there's fear that is hard to acknowledge,

It becomes our shadow,

And it starts to like seep out or leak out when we don't expect it to.

And oftentimes we can make decisions around what we speak,

What we do,

What we think that's coming from a shadow place and not from our clear place.

So the invitation right now is just to be there with whatever is arising.

And as I said what I said,

You know,

I don't want you to think of shadowing in a negative way.

Everyone has it.

You know,

It's there for all of us.

And these spaces of fear and these deep beliefs,

They have wisdom in them.

So what I want you to do right now is just hold these places with a lot of compassion,

A lot of care.

And the image is that,

You know,

You have like a beautiful dinner table,

And you have a big living room or something,

And you just want to invite this voice or this feeling,

And it might have a form,

To just take a seat,

To just be in the community that you are facilitating,

That you hold.

And this community is all aspects of yourself,

You know,

The way that you're loving,

The way that you're smart,

The way that blah,

Blah,

Blah,

Blah,

Blah,

All your guides,

You know.

And so these shadow places,

We can just invite them to come and have a seat at the table,

And they can scream,

And they can yell,

And they can cry,

And they might feel wretched.

And it's totally fine.

There is nothing that you need to do.

And just keep breathing in and let your belly relax and say,

I'm safe in this moment.

Right now I'm safe.

And let the one who's scared receive that.

And as you exhale and you feel your jaw relax,

And you say,

I have what I need.

And let the voices that say,

I don't,

Or I need something else,

Let them receive that.

And so we want to attend to these places in ourselves that are,

Um,

Freaked out and uncomfortable,

And that might act or react in the world in ways that are coming from a survival instinct,

That are coming from a place in ourselves that perhaps at one time was very scared or traumatized or didn't have enough.

But again,

Chances are good that if you're listening to this meditation,

You are safe and you do have enough.

So what does that mean for you right now?

Can you be in the places,

So we all have them,

That don't believe them?

And can you hold them instead?

Okay,

So this is a practice that you can continue and I will continue for sure because,

Um,

We have to,

You know,

We have to take responsibility for the places in ourselves that act maturely and irresponsibly.

And this is where they are in the shadow.

But for now,

Let's also kind of turn our attention towards the earth.

And rather than the internal voice saying,

I have what I need and I am safe.

Can you hear that from the earth to you?

And this magnificent planet is home to all of us,

Her life that is what we are a part of.

The amazing shapes and formations of her geography and oceans.

The absolutely unspeakably magic ecosystem and the way that all of the elements work together that we are a part of.

Can you feel yourself here on earth right now,

Wherever you are in your house,

In the city,

Can you feel yourself here and feel the presence of the earth underneath you?

You might have to go down many flights of stairs or three floors and whatever they call the things or the foundations underneath your house.

That's fine.

Go as far as you need to go.

And it's actually not that far for any of us.

Just feel she's there.

And on this earth,

All of us,

We have what we need.

Remember that there is enough that's here.

There's enough resource.

There's enough intelligence.

And there's enough community that we will all have what we need if we just trust that we have what we need.

And if we trust in one another,

That no one needs to take more than what they need.

There's plenty.

And why do people take more than what they need?

Back to the first question.

Okay.

So when we don't feel safe,

We tend to hoard and we grasp.

And so what does it mean to feel safe on a planet that is always changing,

That has huge and powerful elements that can completely obliterate your life in a second?

What does it mean to feel safe in societies that are at war with each other and in cultures that are extremely violent?

What does it mean to feel safe in a universe that's constantly expanding and exploding?

Right now,

You're safe.

So can you feel all the way down into the earth and feel her,

Feel you?

There's this presence,

This amazing presence of an abundant and generous planet that has so many gifts for us and is absolutely the most beautiful and stunning work of whatever it is that makes things.

And feel that you are a part of that.

And inhale and relax your belly.

And safe.

And exhale and relax your jaw.

I have enough.

This is your invitation.

Just keep connecting.

Holding a space of safety and satiation and holding that not only for yourselves but for all beings.

May we collectively remember this together.

May we support one another to remember.

And when the shadow places come up in ourselves and in one another,

Can we just be there and carry their voices because this fear is just like little kids,

You know,

They just they need attention,

They need to be seen,

They need to be invited in.

And shame and denial do us no good.

So when they speak out,

Just,

Ah,

Okay,

There's that voice right now.

And just look for whatever the signal is that you are safe and have what you need.

In this crazy,

Crazy,

Crazy world,

There are signs everywhere.

Okay,

So you might just look around and see the sky and see the plants,

See a picture of someone you love.

You might close your eyes and take a deep breath.

You might connect to the God or the spirit of your understanding.

And I have enough.

So if we take what we need,

And if we want what we have,

We have enough.

Thank you for participating in this meditation.

I hope that this week that you can't grow abundantly and vibrantly.

And that you're supported in all your endeavors.

And I hope that you are loved and that you are safe and that you have what you need.
