Now that the first 50 episodes of Daily Magic for Peace are out in the world,

I'd like to pause to thank you for taking time out of your day to focus on peace,

To center in peace.

This work we are doing is sacred,

Profound,

And so very needed.

This week we'll be revisiting some of our most popular episodes.

I'm Colleen Thomas.

Welcome to the best of Daily Magic for Peace.

Today we will pause all things and come together to sit in circle.

Welcome to the circle.

Today I invite you to join us as you are.

It doesn't matter if you have an item.

If you have a bell or something of that nature,

You can take a second to grab it.

But really,

Today is just about being together.

I invite you to take your seat in the circle,

In the circle that we intend to gather,

The circle free of space and time that is populated by anybody who listens to this episode.

Welcome to the circle.

Welcome to this moment.

If you're listening to this episode during the week of April 4th,

You are probably like me reeling from the news that began coming to light this weekend when Ukrainian forces retook a lot of the land around Kiev.

And I'm not going to go into detail because I will leave it up to you to look that up when you're ready if you haven't already heard about it.

And also I don't want to misrepresent anything,

The facts of which will become clear over time.

But I wanted to join with you in circle today to invite you to settle your body,

To invite you to simply be.

I heard a quote from Antony Blinken,

The US Secretary of State today,

And it just resonated with me so deeply.

He said,

We can't become numb to this.

We can't normalize this.

So I invite you to join me in that sentiment right now.

We can't become numb to this.

We can't normalize this.

And he went on to say,

This is the reality of what's going on every single day,

As long as Russia's brutality against Ukraine continues.

We need to be awake in this moment to what is happening in our world.

I know you are,

And that's why you're here.

And we need to stay awake to what is happening in our world.

And while we are doing that,

We need to be in our bodies.

We need to be present.

Because it's so easy to get caught up in the what if,

Or what will,

Or what's next,

Even subconsciously.

Because that's what our bodies do.

Our bodies try to stay safe.

They try to keep us safe.

And when we notice something going on over there that is scary,

We can immediately go to how long until that gets here.

That's a very human way of responding.

Once you have your tools,

Once you are in your body,

I invite you to make a commitment.

Make a commitment to staying awake.

Your commitment could be something you do every day.

It could be listening to this show every day to practice embodiment and grounding.

It could be calling your congresspeople,

Your representatives,

If you're in the US or the UK or Australia or I think Germany and France.

There are contact,

Just contact information in our show notes.

You can tell your elected officials what you want to see happen.

You can of course donate.

You can find other ways to stay present and balanced with the news.

So I'm so glad that you're here with me in circle.

I think this is a really good time to find ourselves again.

To find our bodies.

To find our hearts.

To find our spirits.

And to pay as much attention to how we are receiving this news as to the news.

Because in order to respond in whatever way we decide is appropriate to this news,

We need to be fully present and fully embodied.

So I invite you to join me in doing a couple of simple grounding exercises,

Just very subtly and softly today.

So if it feels good,

You might put a hand on your heart or make contact with your body,

However you'd like to.

And see if you can feel your touch.

Let your touch be very loving and very reassuring,

Comforting,

The way you might comfort a child who is restless,

Just needing a little bit of love and touch reassurance.

And I'd like to take a moment to reflect on some of the tools we've been using that you might try later today to help yourself be present.

Maybe if you hear more news,

You might try these afterwards to get reconnected,

Realigned,

Looking around the room for shapes,

Looking around the room for colors,

Noticing what you're sensing with your eyes and your ears and your nose,

What you're tasting,

Taking a lot of deep breaths.

And I invite you to grab your bell if you have one and join me in just,

Let's just do one chime.

And then we will take,

Let's do 20 seconds of just sitting together in silence.

Thank you so much for being with us today.

Your presence,

Your energy,

And your heart make all the difference in healing our world.

Remember to breathe today,

To breathe today,

Breathe and expand.

And I hope you join us again next time.
