Yeah,
Welcome to this meditation.
Yeah,
It's a precious space,
A place of renewal,
Refreshment,
To regroup and regather.
Yeah,
Sometimes life can be stormy seas,
So mindfulness can offer us a bit of a harbour of still waters,
Some calm,
A bit of a clearing space.
And of course we may not begin with this sense of calming and space.
That's okay.
We begin with the premise that all is welcome here.
All parts of us are welcome.
And some parts might say no,
I don't like this part.
Well,
We welcome that too.
And there's more in the great depths of our beingness,
In the great ocean of who we are.
There's always more that can be supportive,
Nourishing and healing.
So yes,
Just acknowledging the thoughts and the feelings swirling around.
Or just there,
Or maybe not.
It's okay.
We just say,
It's okay.
These are only mental states.
So very gently,
An invitation to drop down and to sense the earth beneath you,
Beneath us,
Forever patient and present.
Mother Earth,
Always available at all times.
Perhaps just sensing your feet,
Where they meet the earth through gravity,
Maybe through your shoes or a carpet,
Or maybe more directly,
Really sensing the soles of the feet and perhaps the seat beneath you.
Being pulled down,
Mother Earth wants to embrace us,
Connect,
Bring a sense of earthing and grounding,
A sense of safety,
Terra firma,
Safety.
Just resting with these sensations briefly,
Settling,
Landing,
Arriving,
Sensing contact.
And as we connect with the earth through the seat or ground or mattress or settee,
We can invite a sense of the whole body,
Sensing perhaps the shape of your whole body.
You can begin to emerge very gently with a kind awareness,
With a gentleness,
Sensing into itself the shape,
Perhaps some clothing fabric on the skin here and there.
Soft,
Warm,
Protecting,
Sensitive from the skin's perspective in a kindly,
Gentle way,
Grounding and earthing,
Sensing and softening,
Comforting and easing in and with the whole body,
As it breathes naturally.
Being breathed even by the universe,
By the immense space around us,
Flowing in and flowing out,
Inviting a sense of calming and easing as the body breathes naturally from this grounded whole sense of itself,
Inviting a sense of kindness and care,
A sense of healing and well-being,
A sense of renewal,
Inviting a freshness to emerge through the whole body,
A new lease of living and life with each in and out breath,
The freshness of the breath flowing in and flowing out in this new moment with kind awareness,
A soft awareness,
Resting in the body breathing,
Grounded,
Aware breathing,
And the body can sense outwards into the space around it,
Into the room,
Into the fresh air outside,
Into the big blue beyond the clouds or the night sky,
Into that sea of diamonds,
Seen or not seen,
Always present,
Radiating kindly and warm light down to us,
Pale white and blue beams of healing light,
Spacious light,
With each in and out breath,
Breathing in the beauty of the stars and the space from this grounded,
Aware sense of yourself,
And if the body wants to soften and relax a little bit more,
The jaw softening,
Lips softening around the eyes and the eyes,
Forehead smoothing out like a sheet of silk,
Shoulders perhaps dropping slightly,
And the hands unfurling,
Softening,
And anywhere else wanting to invite comfort and ease,
Soften and soothe with each in and out breath,
Grounded,
Aware breathing,
And in all of this,
Making space for what's inside,
Something tender,
Something raw,
Something stressed or busy,
Something a bit anxious maybe,
Or something spacious and okay,
Or maybe a mix,
And we can meet these parts,
These somethings,
From this grounded,
Aware,
Spacious sense of ourselves,
Meeting these parts with compassion and care,
Introducing these parts to the vastness of space and the stars that surround us,
Giving them space to breathe,
To find their own fresh edge and healing in their own time,
And we might just offer a little hello to all of that there in us,
Hello,
It's like that for you right now,
And we invite a soft care,
A gentle holding,
A fresh breathing,
A grounded sense of ourselves to these parts,
And we might empathise with them saying,
Oh it's like that,
No wonder,
You've been busy,
Or there's something's happened,
And this has arisen,
Of course,
It's okay,
I'm inviting care and kindness,
Healing and well-being,
A tenderness,
A softness and a comfort,
Inviting a soothing and an easing to accompany you,
So in time you can find rest and ease in your own unique way,
Bringing forth a clarity and a wholeness,
A refreshed sense of purpose,
A creative whole sense of oneself to emerge,
And we know these feelings inside are telling us we have met needs or unmet needs for safety,
Security,
For peace,
For healing and well-being,
For playfulness and fun,
For freedom and ease,
For connection and love,
For wholeness and well-being,
Peace,
Tranquility,
Creativity,
Authenticity,
Calm,
Respect and care,
To be heard,
To express,
For progress,
For learning and growth,
And just sensing what needs are particularly important right now for you,
And just inviting them to perfume our whole experience in its own time and in its own way,
Even as we complete and continue in our lives,
These needs can colour and shape us,
Bringing a richness,
A meaning,
A well-being,
A spring to our step,
A renewed whole sense of ourselves to emerge.
