Now,
Good morning,
Good evening,
Good afternoon,
So as we just sit here in silence,
What do we notice?
You don't need to explain it to yourself,
Just notice.
I hear the hum of the refrigerator,
I hear the first chirping of the birds of the day,
I can hear distant traffic,
I can hear the sensation of sitting on the seat,
I can feel the temperature of coolness of the skin on the hands,
I can feel a slightly aching knee,
I can feel what we call a relaxation sitting here,
Just being,
How often do we do this in life?
I can see a computer with images,
What do you see?
Because that's your actuality,
It's not complicated,
It's not complex,
Complexity exists in the mind,
In thought,
The mind believes something's got to be complex if it's worthwhile,
And this is simpler than simple,
That's why it's difficult,
The mind can come up with,
So what's the point of listening to the refrigerator,
It sounds absolutely ridiculous,
Because it has a view of itself,
That's not worthwhile,
Nobody's sitting,
Saying,
Sit and listen to the sound of the refrigerator all day,
But the senses are on all day,
So what we're interested in is the actuality of our experience,
Not the interpretation,
Not the commentary about,
About it,
Actually most of the commentary is not about it,
Most of what we're listening to all day in the mind is about what's not happening,
And that's where the suffering is,
It's nowhere else,
Get a little image,
Maybe you've got a health thing and you get a little image of future,
And then there's fear,
There you go,
Right there,
And that's what we start to see,
This is really about seeing the truth of what's happening,
And to free ourselves from that,
The bondage of mental and psychological suffering,
Coming home to our own inherent well-being,
Was the Buddha's message,
What do you teach,
Somebody asked him,
I teach the end of suffering,
The guy,
That particular guy apparently wasn't interested,
Well that's not very interesting,
I could say I teach happiness,
Not me,
But the Buddha could have said that,
I'll show you how to be happy,
Stop believing your thoughts,
Come back to the actuality,
That's where a dog lives,
A cat lives,
An elephant,
And the mind will function when it needs to function,
Absolutely no problem at all,
It functions better,
So take your attention to your heart,
Sensing into the heart,
And just reassure the body,
The nervous system,
It's okay,
See the nervous system responds to the mental world,
It doesn't know the difference between imagined and actual,
It's okay,
May I be well,
May I be happy,
Just wish yourself well,
And stay there,
May I be at ease,
And at peace,
If there's some trouble or a health issue in your life at the moment,
Can you just bring it to mind,
It's okay,
May I be well,
May I be happy,
Don't push it away,
Hold it,
And bring a good friend to mind,
Allow them to enter this heart space,
Just for a few minutes,
And wish them well,
May you be well and happy,
May we both be well and happy,
And at ease,
And now I'd just like you to relax the attention,
And literally just sit with me,
To see what appears to the senses,
And don't worry about getting lost in thought,
Never worry about it,
Just drop them,
Or thinking,
Where are you now,
Resting in this sense of presence,
Aliveness,
Beingness,
Which of course includes the body,
As we spend time here at some point,
We get a taste of the richness,
The wonder,
Don't think about it,
Feel into it,
Rest into it,
Okay,
And that's it,
Remember tomorrow's the Q&A,
If anybody wants to bring a question,
Send a question,
Or ask it tomorrow morning,
Okay guys,
Have a good day,
