Regardless of your gender identity,
You are both a masculine and feminine power within you.
The challenge is balancing the two,
To cultivate each of the unique powers that feels authentic to you,
Without ignoring either.
The external world projects expectations on us,
Influencing our internal world.
We forget who we truly are.
Because we are spending less time outdoors and more time sedentary,
We don't have the proper environments to foster our masculinity.
In modern times,
The beauty and compassion of the feminine have blossomed.
And while humans open and create space for her,
We must not forget the strength and assertiveness of the masculine.
This meditation will help you tap into the masculine side of your energy,
Within your breath.
It is our breath that controls and disciplines our mind,
To be calm in the inevitable storm.
Let us first awaken the body with the breath of fire.
Come to a seated position,
With your feet flat on the ground.
And raise your hands up into the sky as far as you can.
And through the nose,
We will force and exhale quickly,
While inhaling naturally.
We will do this for 60 seconds,
Starting now.
You're doing great.
You're almost there.
Ten more seconds.
Three,
Two,
One,
Fully exhale.
Come back to rhythm in your breath.
Feel into your body,
Feel the energy.
And now that we've awakened the body and the chest,
You have the option to lie down and get into a comfortable,
Horizontal position.
And whether you are sitting up or laying down,
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
And out through the mouth.
Doing this two more times.
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth.
In through the nose,
And this time holding it at the top,
Filling up the lungs and the chest as much as you can.
And exhale,
Out through the mouth,
Letting go every last drop of air.
Come back to a natural rhythm with the breath.
Here I'd like you to open up the chest and the neck,
By tilting your head and chin upwards into the sky.
Lifting up the shoulders and the chest off up the ground,
As far reaching as you can.
Feel this openness,
This vulnerability,
This discomfort.
You can stretch yourself even further if you have the courage.
Leaning into it,
Embracing it,
Noticing the thoughts,
The emotions,
The sensations.
You can now bring your chest and neck back down to the ground.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Embracing those feelings and emotions.
And out through the mouth,
Letting it all go,
Letting your body relax.
From here I'd like you to lift your hips up off the ground,
Pointing the hips,
The pelvic,
The groin area up into the air,
As far as you can,
Keeping your shoulders on the ground.
Again feeling this discomfort,
This exposure,
This vulnerability.
Lifting the thoughts,
The emotions,
The sensations in the body,
Without judgment,
Bias,
Or suppression,
Or needing to fix it,
Or remediate it.
Become curious about what's happening for you in this position.
And when you're ready you may rest your hips back on the ground.
From here take a deep breath in through the nose,
Filling up the chest,
The lungs,
Tensing the body,
Flexing the muscles.
Then exhale out through the mouth,
Relaxing the body,
Letting it all go.
I'd like you to pay attention to an energy within the groin.
Might it be a warmth,
A tension,
A feeling,
A sensation.
And here again notice the thoughts,
The emotions,
The sensations.
What are you feeling?
How does it feel?
And if your mind begins to wander,
Or think,
Or analyze,
Just come back to the breath,
Come back to this energy in the groin,
To the sensations in the body.
You don't need to figure it out now.
Just feel.
Feel the discomfort,
And feel the power.
Feel the fears,
And feel the courage.
Feel the doubt,
And feel the confidence.
From here you can take a deep breath in through the nose,
Feeling all of those emotions all at once.
And exhale,
Letting them all go,
Relaxing the body.
And you may do that a few more times if you'd like.
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth.
And as you do so,
Become curious.
What do you feel?
Where do you feel it?
In the groin,
In the legs,
In the gut,
In the chest.
What does it feel like?
Can you receive it?
Can you embrace it?
Can you come back to it?
This is your source.
This is your God,
Your power,
Your intuition,
Your confidence.
And you have access to this at any time.
It is you,
And you are it.
Take another deep breath in through the nose.
And receiving,
Embracing,
Allowing.
And out through the mouth.
From here you can slowly bring movement back into your fingers,
Your toes,
Your arms,
Your legs.
You may want to lift your arms and stretch.
Twist your back,
Or flex.
As you come back to your space,
Start to activate your senses.
When you're ready,
You may open your eyes.
