So hi everyone and thank you for joining me.
In today's journey we'll explore understanding your body's wisdom.
Now have you ever noticed how your body seems to have its own rhythm and its own way of responding to life?
Now sometimes out of nowhere my heart might start to race,
I may feel restless energy or I may even feel very tired.
Now what if these are not random occurrences but this is your body's intelligent way of communicating with you.
So today we are going to explore a gentle journey to meet and befriend your nervous system.
The incredible network of wisdom that lives within you,
Constantly guiding you through each moment of life.
Now this is not about fixing or controlling anything,
It's about developing a loving relationship with the intelligence that's been caring for you since your very first breath.
So let's begin this journey together.
Find a position that allows your body to feel supported.
Whether you are sitting,
Lying down or even standing up.
Just let yourself settle into whatever feels most natural right now.
You can now allow your eyes to close if that feels comfortable.
Or you can simply let your gaze soften.
Now take a moment to arrive here with me.
What is supporting you right now?
Feel the surface supporting you.
The floor,
The chair,
The mat.
The air around you.
The gentle rhythm of your own breathing.
Notice that your breath is happening all by itself.
Your body's wisdom is taking care of you without any effort from your mind.
This is your nervous system at work.
Keeping you alive,
Keeping you present.
Now feeling a little bit more present.
I will take my left palm now,
I'll put it on my heart.
I'll take my right hand,
I'll put it on my belly.
And from this moment on,
Just let my words guide you.
Whatever you need today will show up for you.
Treat this time as self-care.
You taking time out to be with your body.
You taking time out to meet,
Understand your nervous system.
With one hand on the heart and another one on your belly.
Just feel the quiet conversation happening between your heartbeat and your breath.
Now this is your nervous system speaking to you.
A constant dialogue of wisdom happening.
Without any involvement from your mind.
Imagine for a moment that you could tune into this conversation.
Like tuning into a gentle radio station that's been playing music in the background all your life.
Receiving this inquiry now.
What is your body trying to tell you?
What is your body telling you right now?
What is your body telling you right now?
Not with words,
But with sensations.
Not with thoughts,
But with feeling and energy.
What is your body telling you right now?
And just listen.
Without needing to understand.
Without needing to analyze.
Just be present to the communication that's already happening.
Happening within you.
Now as you drop into the state of listening.
Let your awareness now gently expand through your whole body.
Notice the quality of energy that's present right now.
Perhaps there is an alertness or a brightness.
An energy that feels ready,
Engaged.
Maybe there is a restlessness.
A sense of some movement wanting to happen.
Or maybe there is a quietness now.
A very very deep settling.
Grounding and stillness.
Or possibly there is a mixture of these.
Layers of different energies that you're feeling in this moment.
Whatever you sense right now.
Be with it.
Notice it.
Meet it with curiosity,
Not judgment.
This is simply your nervous system's current expression.
It's way of being present to your life right now.
Now just receiving my words.
Your nervous system is always in conversation with your environment.
With your memories.
With your hopes,
Your concerns,
Your traumas.
It's an incredibly sophisticated guidance system.
That's learned to respond to life in a way that serves you and keeps you safe.
Sometimes this guidance shows up as mobilization.
Preparing for something,
Being alert,
Being present.
Or in clinical terms,
Fight mode.
Sometimes it appears as a need for movement.
An energy that wants to create distance.
Now in clinical terms,
You can call this flight state.
And other times this would manifest as energy turning inwards,
Shutting down,
Slowing down,
Creating space for rest.
This in clinical terms is what we call freeze.
So whatever is present in your body right now,
Just breathe with it.
Your nervous system,
Your inner guidance system is not trying to give you problems.
The sensations,
The thoughts,
The memories that you have,
It's just information.
Breathe into what you feel.
And notice.
Imagine you could speak directly to this wisdom within you.
Not to fix or change anything.
But simply to acknowledge and appreciate.
You might silently offer words like,
I see you.
I feel you responding to life.
Thank you for all the ways that you take care of me.
I see you.
I feel you responding to life.
Thank you for all the ways you take care of me.
I'm here to listen to what you need to tell me.
I am here to listen to what you need to tell me.
And just feel how this lands in your body.
To be heard and acknowledged,
Perhaps for the first time in a while.
Your nervous system has been having this conversation with you your entire life.
And today you're choosing to pause,
Listen,
And consciously participate into what's being shown to you.
Now,
If there is any area of your body right now that feels tensed or activated,
Send your breath to that area.
If my heart feels heavy,
I can breathe into my heart.
If I feel tightness in my stomach,
I can breathe into my stomach.
If there is another area of my body that feels activated,
I'm just going to consciously go there with my breath.
You're not trying to change these sensations.
You're simply offering them your presence.
Now,
Your nervous system speaks the language of safety and connection.
So let's offer it some words.
That it understands.
Feel your body first resting into the support beneath you.
Let your muscles soften a little bit more.
And with your left hand on your heart and your right hand on your belly,
Silently remind your body now.
You can repeat this after me or simply receive my words.
Right here,

I can rest.

Notice how your body receives these messages,
These words.
Perhaps there is a subtle softening,
A gentle exhale,
Or a sense of settling.
This is your nervous system recognizing safety and allowing itself to release some of the vigilance that it's been carrying.
Now,
Feeling what you feel,
Sensing what you sense,
Take a moment now to appreciate the incredible intelligence that lives within you.
Your nervous system has guided you through every experience of your life.
It has helped you navigate challenges,
It has celebrated with you in moments of joy,
And it has kept you safe in times of difficulty.
It has learned to read the world around you and respond in ways that serve your highest good,
Even when the responses feel uncomfortable and confusing.
Now breathe in some gratitude for this faithful companion that never leaves your side,
That's always working on your behalf.
Breathing in gratitude.
This is also me resting into a new understanding.
And as I rest into this space of understanding,
Imagine what it might be like to check in with your nervous system regularly,
Not to control it,
But to listen to it.
What would it feel like to move through your day with this kind of awareness?
Imagine making choices from this place of connection,
Trusting the information your nervous system provides you,
While also offering the safety and care that it needs.
See yourself responding to life's challenges from this foundation of inner friendship and connection,
Where your body's responses are met with understanding rather than resistance.
And we'll say this again,

Now begin to sense the space around you again,
The air on your skin,
The sounds in your environment.
Your nervous system is already starting to integrate this experience of being heard and understood.
As you prepare now to return to your day or to your night,
Carry this sense of partnership with you.
You can return to this conversation,
To this journey,
To this exploration anytime you need to,
Simply by placing your hands on your heart and your belly and listening to what your body has to tell you.
Now we'll bring both our hands onto the heart and we'll take three deep breaths as we close.
Feel the aliveness beneath your palms.
Your nervous system is continuing the work of caring for you.
Now this isn't the end of a practice,
But the beginning of a living relationship.
Your nervous system has been waiting for your whole life for this kind of attention and care.
The more you listen,
The more clearly it will communicate.
The more you respond with understanding,
The more it will trust you.
When you're ready now,
Gently open your eyes.
And now we remember,
You are never alone.
You carry within you the most sophisticated guidance system and it's been loving you unconditionally since the day you were born.
