Thanks for taking the time to meditate with me.

With all that's going on in the world,

It is good to check in and take care of our inner state.

Keeping ourselves aware of what's going on with our emotions and finding refuge during meditation practice can help with our health,

Vitality,

And peace of mind.

We begin with our breathing.

Take three full,

Deep breaths to become present in this moment.

Then allow your breathing to be a little slower and softer than usual during this meditation time.

Take stock of this present moment.

What are you feeling in your physical body?

You might feel stiff or tired or vital and calm.

Any answer is correct for you right now in this moment.

What emotions are you having right now?

Just take a look at your feelings.

Maybe it's pleasurable.

Perhaps grief is coming up today.

Or maybe you're just feeling neutral.

Again,

There's no right or wrong answer.

Just check in and see what's up for you.

And finally,

Where is your mind right now?

Is it still on what happened yesterday or what might happen later?

Can you bring your mind back to the present moment for now?

Just for this time of meditation,

Allow any thoughts to melt away and come into the present moment.

Feel yourself breathing in this present moment and let go of anything else for now.

Allow thoughts to fall away and come to the present moment.

Fear is one of the many emotions we have naturally as human beings.

No one is immune to feeling fear.

It can help us take action and control of a life situation.

However,

We do not need to give it all of our attention all of the time.

We are powerful and we can control our thoughts and how much time we spend thinking about fear.

It may help to recognize and acknowledge the fear and then let it move through us,

Like a tree with great branches.

A tree doesn't block the wind.

It lets the wind go right through its limbs without damage.

The thing or situation causing fear does not have all the power.

Our response to it holds power too.

Letting fear be a constant part of your life could damage the trunk of the tree or eat away at its roots.

Fear is to be moved through,

Not obeyed.

We have a choice about how we respond to fear.

Should I respond as a victim in denial,

Blaming others,

Or not taking steps to protect myself?

Or should I respond with acceptance,

Confidence,

Learning,

And preparation?

We are powerful beings,

Ready and able to control our thoughts and actions and our lives.

Now I can recognize when I'm moving into unwarranted fear and I can stop that cycle.

I can keep an open heart and mind.

I can be guided to the best decision for my life.

I can keep myself protected as much as I need to so that I create a more peaceful life.

What happens if I open my heart,

Put aside the fear,

And open to the flow of life?

Just breathe into that image,

Putting aside the anxiety just for this moment.

Imagine putting the fear aside and becoming fully present.

Make a note of how this feels.

Memorize the way your body feels when you are completely present and in the moment.

Dwell there as we go into a period of silence.

And now,

In the relaxed and present state,

Repeat these phrases after me.

I open to the flow of the life force within me.

I open my heart and relax into this moment.

I am open to peace.

Fill my being with health,

Vitality,

And peace.

I choose to be fully present here and now.

I choose peace.

And now,

As we come out of meditation slowly,

Take another full,

Deep breath to end.

Begin to move a little,

Stretch,

And yawn.

And when you are ready,

Open your eyes.

Thanks for meditating with me.

Remember that you are a powerful being as you move into your day.

Be well.
